Re: PSA: Select Super Mario amiibo Have Been Restocked At GameStop (US)

Ks123

Ah you lost me at GameStop.

I’d love to pick up that glow-in-the-dark Boo I missed previously, but locking these amiibo behind GameStop is such a horrible move. What is this 2010?? The website won’t let me select in-store-pickup and forcing me to pay their absolutely insane $7 shipping? I don’t think so. The hardest of passes.

Re: 'Emio - The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club' ESRB Rating Summary Reveals Horrific Themes

Ks123

I preordered this. Not because I’m a fan of the franchise, in fact I’ve never played a Famicon Detective Club game, or because I’m particularly excited about this release. Not sure I’ll even like it, but I’m just really intrigued by what this game even is and I look forward to experiencing it. I suspect that there will be 10 copies printed for the US, so if I want a physical copy and don’t want to spend stupid money on the reseller market later, it felt smart to preorder this now.

Re: Sonic X Shadow Generations Speeds Onto Switch This October

Ks123

@martynstuff I think you’re right. And that’s my point. If I’m paying $50 to buy the physical game vs $50 for the digital deluxe version, my $50 is just as green, so why wouldn’t Sega offer the dlc content for free to everyone across the board? It seems like that’s what’s happening here, or their marketing is just poor. But it reeks of this push to encourage digital sales over physical.

Re: Sonic X Shadow Generations Speeds Onto Switch This October

Sega is clearly pushing the Digital Deluxe edition really hard here. But what they are unclear about and I’m not sure I understand is, does purchasing the physician edition get us the digital season pass with the extra level and skin for Shadow? It looks like a holiday 2024 dlc drop, but I can’t imagine they will require physical customers to purchase it while giving it to digital deluxe customers for free. Am I misunderstanding something?

Re: TMNT: Mutants Unleashed Physical Collector's Edition Looks Totally Tubular

I agree with everyone’s sentiment that $200 for a box filled with dollar store trinkets is insane. The art book is probably the only worthwhile item, assuming you like the art style to begin with.

What caught my eye though, is what they are calling the Deluxe edition is called the “Walmart Edition” on Walmarts website and has been listed for months. I preordered my copy back in March and it lists the same items as the Deluxe edition. Even more curiously it’s priced at $39.99 for all that stuff, steel book, art book, etc. It’s still at the $39.99 so grab it before they change it!

Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Announced, Coming To Switch In 2025

Really interesting announcement.

My initial thought it, thank goodness they’re skipping a 2024 release. The franchise needs to rest a bit.

My second thought is launching on Nintendo Switch “systems” is a coded reveal that this will be a dual release as a 2025 launch game for Switch 2/Super Switch, as well as releasing on current Switch, a la Breath of the Wild.

Re: Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Pre-Orders Being Charged, Launch Date Reveal "Not Quite Ready"

Ks123

What’s the issue with slapping 6 old pixel games onto a cart and releasing it physically on stores? I don’t understand the business model of making the physical editions so limited and locked behind the Square online store. Lately I feel like, is Square even a real company anymore? Is anyone even trying or even cares? Their HD-2D games are generally pretty solid and they obviously care about FF7 as a franchise with all the remakes, but everything else seems to be in the dumpster.

My 2 cents.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Special Edition Pre-Orders Go Live June 30th (US)

Ks123

I'm confused by the process. My experience:

I've been in the waiting room on and off since the presale went live.

I was able to get the special edition in my cart a few hours into the waiting process. It even allowed me to start to "check out" my cart. I could clearly see there was an item in my cart but it wasn't allowing me to choose my shipping method and actually pay for it. I was then kicked back to the red screen queue to keep waiting.

A couple hours ago I was finally brought back to the checkout process. Again I could see the item in my cart but it was telling me that the item was sold out. SOLD OUT?

Now I'm back in the red screen queue again. Am I insane? Am I a glutton for punishment? Do I enjoy being treated like garbage by Nintendo? LMAO.

My question is, should I keep waiting? Is the special edition really sold out or, since I'm in the queue again, should I keep hanging in there??? Advice appreciated.

Re: Chris Pratt On Voicing Mario: Says It's "Unlike Anything You've Heard In The Mario World"

I’m staying optimistic and holding out hope for this movie. Given how much oversight Nintendo and Miyamoto have on it I can’t imagine things going poorly. That being said 😬. Why are we trying out new voices for a character that has had a very defined presence for 30 years? The first things that come to mind are the initial Sonic movie design and the Michael Bay TMNT aesthetic changes and it doesn’t instill confidence.

Re: Deals: Nintendo Switch Consoles Are $40 Off In The US Right Now

Ks123

@Ulysses it may be too late now but for the future I always recommend Target. Aside from being just generally an enjoyable shopping experience, Target price matches with little hassle. Meanwhile, GameStop is trash and acts like you’re robbing them when you try to price match.

Re: Pokémon Sword And Shield Shiny Zacian/Zamazenta Distribution Confirmed For US

Ks123

@Bret I’m going to agree with you on this. The employees usually tell me they have stacks of them left over and end up throwing them out. Same thing with the current Best Buy code give away, the employee reached into a good size box and had no problem handing me four.

These end up being anything but rare so I hope people aren’t paying any significant money for them to scalpers on resale sites.

Re: Zelda: Skyward Sword HD Was July's Best-Selling Game In The US, Even Discounting Digital Sales

Ks123

@Tandy255 the funny thing is that everyone losing their minds about pricing can easily find every game you mentioned cheaper with very little effort.

Most games can be found at launch for $10 off, so $50. Personally, if I really want a game then that’s sufficient for me. If I don’t need it at launch and am willing to wait, then the sky is the limit. I bought Pikmin 3 and DK Tropical for $30 each by waiting a while since I already owned them on WiiU so was in no rush to pay full price for them.

I understand the concept and point that Nintendo shouldn’t be charging $60 for 10+ year old games that in theory should be available on eShop or Nintendo Online. But it’s 2021 and this is a free market, always wait for a deal.

@Xaessya hi sounds like you’re knowledgeable and familiar with this series, so can these be played if you haven’t played/aren’t familiar with the story of the first “set” of games? I’ve always liked and been intrigued by this series but should I even bother or will I be really lost?
