Re: Mailbox: Game-Key Cards, Slacker Sakurai, Shapes & Beats - Nintendo Life Letters

@FredBiletnikoff So, what does your comment bring to the discussion?

@KociolekDoSyta Yes. Let's laugh from kids and other people who don't have access to internet or a good internet, that on top of that has a limited data. 50-60GB is a lot, taking under consideration limited plans and download speeds for a lot of people if you wouldn't know. Be happy that this is not a problem for you. And good luck with buying more and more expensive microSD cards, because you'll need them. Cost of storage is thrown at you.

That grandma that I mentioned is over 80, has a simple old CRT TV, landline phone and wouldn't even know how to turn on PC. That is if you want to know about my friend's mom. And that kid got a Switch with only this game back then. Fortunately, this 'game' (or rather useless piece of plastic) was successfully returned after Christmas. I gave him Klonoa from my collection when I was still around during that time.

@Xansies They are made literally only for publishers to sell them on store shelves. People will buy them because many of them don't know better. Mom buys a game for his son on Christmas and he can't play it because he needs to download it, but they're going to his grandma that doesn't have internet. Oh well, not a biggie. For you maybe not, but for this kid? Yes. Many, many real life examples I can give (this one was with a GKC for Switch 1). Publishers can dream, at least for now. As long as physical media exists, only small % of people who don't know better will buy something like this. All the rest won't support this practice, because it's simply an insult.

And no, people who like physicals just don't buy them. There's no alternative, especially not something like this. They can take this something and you know what they can do with it. I've been hearing about digital only future for at least two decades now, and it's still not here. So, as long as physical media is here, treat customers with respect.

GKC. Yes, let's just pretend that this is the new normal. For who? Collectors won't buy them, people who are into digital distribution won't buy them because they're the worst from both worlds put in together. Little frankenstein that no one really wants. Physical digital, still takes precious space (especially with this generation), where the only 'positive' thing about it is the reselling option. So, who are they made for? Cheeky, money hungry publishers and that's it. Nintendo didn't have you in mind when they made it, only their and publishers' benefit. You're on loss here, no matter how you look at it, I don't know why some people don't understand this. You're the one who is being treated without respect. You pay money for something that shouldn't even exist in a first place, it's disrespectful to the client. And no, people should keep talking about it, very, very loud until they stop with this *****. That's all.

Re: Nintendo Won't Let Charity Speedrunning Event Use Its Games Without Permission, Because Of Course

KociolekDoSyta

@sethfranum The whole problem is that... there is no problem and that there shouldn't be any problem. With RTA there never was any, when they used to play their games (and events in general). This comment says exactly what they sould've done instead:

https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2025/08/nintendo-wont-let-charity-speedrunning-event-use-its-games-without-permission-because-of-course#comment8768866

And this was absolutely the right thing to do, for everyone. Including them. But they didn't and looking at the history of RTA, I don't believe that it comes down to Nintendo protecting their image. If anything, they're ruining it even more, if there's still something left to ruin.

Man, I need to ask my mom next time I'll play one of their games outside of the house in case someone would see Mario on my screen I guess.

It's insane, they even act like complete shameless dorks for charity event where they should be proud instead. Disgusting corporation, absolutely and there's no excuse. Next will be Twitch I'm guessing (because 100% no one there asks about can I stream your game and gets paid during the stream)? Because why would they let anyone stream their games if it's not even allowed on a charity event? Well. Just a few more physical purchases for Switch 1 and I'm done with this company once and for all.

Re: Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound Will "Average" 30fps On Switch

KociolekDoSyta

This is very disappointing to hear, but I think that the framerate will be uncapped and as I have a modded Switch, I'll force it to 60fps. It will still play good at 30fps, but come on, this isn't a game based on UE4.

Don't cancel your pre-orders because of this everyone. I've seen the gameplay, game is incredible!

Re: Trails Beyond The Horizon Lifts Off With New Switch 1 & 2 Release Date

KociolekDoSyta

@xenobladexfan It is and for some reason they're not in a hurry to bring all the missing ones to Switch. I have no idea what they're doing to be honest. When it comes to modding, I bought two modchips and soldered them to the two of my OLED Switches. Overclocking, translations, playing own music in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 and few other games. But mainly overclocking, it's around -1h on battery with demanding titles, but so wroth it! From 30fps to 60fps in quite a lot of the games that I wanted to, and from 18/20/25fps to stable 30fps in almost all of them.

Oh and I woud love Nintendo to read this: look, no piracy here! Only original, physical games and from stores, not eBay. You're even making money on this! Can you believe it? Not everyone is an as*hole!

Re: Video: Switch 2 Vs. Steam Deck System Face-Off, Digital Foundry Investigates

KociolekDoSyta

I love Valve for what they did for the Linux gaming community, but Switch 2 is a completely different story. I own only Switch 1, but had Ally X (installed Linux on it) which I sold and I'm left now only with Switch. I love playing on it, especially in tabletop mode, I love how little power it takes, and I love that I have almost everything that I wanted on it. It's a pure console from flesh and bones, unlike any other x86 handheld. I just want a device for games, nothing else. If Nintendo will stop with the game key card ***** and publishers will be releasing full games on carts, I'll get the OLED version in the future.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Update Announced For Switch 2, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

KociolekDoSyta

@solarwolf07 No, no, this is on modded and overclocked Switch 1. Changes were made without swapping textures so they're only engine changes. It really wouldn't take much time for them from what I can see in files. Person who did this, modded for example Kingdom Come and Dying Light as well. They look incredible now and it's a shame that a modder can do this quite easily and quickly but not devs.

And, you have to play it! Game is really good and worth the time.
