@LikelySatan I could swallow the price of the console, but not games. What I can't swallow is the 2h battery mark. I'll stick with the first Switch and I'm already looking for x86 handheld.
@psyraven76 Switch carts were always expensive, for first Switch as well. Whose fault is that? Who invented them? Why were they so expensive in the first place? No one knows, only Nintendo. Maybe they're not really expensive and Nintendo is making a bank on them? We don't really know.
@Clyde_Radcliffe This is exactly what they're doing, that's why I'm out. You want to kill physicals? Screw you, no money from me. I had enough of physical demo versions on Switch.
@Medic_alert Don't forget about 2h battery life on a strictly gaming handheld. Don't compare it to a Steam Deck for example that can do so much more than that.
One more thing, if 2 hours (and of course that I want to play AAA games, if I wouldn't, I would buy something else) is enough for a handheld console then you must be crazy. I understand Steam Deck because it's so much more, but this? You can't compare a handheld PC to a nothing but a console that's only purpose it so play games. 4 hours is the minimum and there should be absolutely no excuses whatsoever.
For me it's not about the price, but about having full game on a cratridge. I can live with less games on a system and buy less of them because of the price. What I can't live with is not having a full game on a cartridge that I pay $60-$90 for.
There will be three types in general 1. Game cart 2. Game-key card 3. Code in a box
While game-key card is better than code in a box, you can already see that 3rd parties will abuse it. You will rarely see an actual game on a cartridge. You'll get game-key card and will have to download the game, but you can still resell it. It doesn't work out for me tho, I'm all for physical, the real physical and not this bullcrap. I'm out when it comes to Switch 2.
Goodbye my fellow Nintendo gamers. Mainly because of the Game-Key cards. I'm not spending $60-$90 to not have a full game on the card. Enough of this. X86 handheld it is then in the future for me.
So far almost 100% of revealed 3rd party games come as a Game-Key Card. Street Fighter 6 and Bravely Default HD present this info on the box.
With this I am saying goodbye to Nintendo Switch 2. I thought they would listen, that for $60-$90 all the games will be on a physical media, but no. I had enough of this with the first Switch, now it's even more ridiculous with Switch 2. I do not support this and at this point I will wait for what Asus is coming up (new version of Ally) or Valve maybe with Deck 2. There's no purpose for me anymore to be excited for Nintedo's console. Enough of this.
I have no idea what they're thinking, 3rd party developers should be forced to release full games on physical media. As I said before, I won't be playing this roulette again. Is this game full on card or not, I'm sick and tired of this. For the time being I'll be playing and finishing all the games that I have on my Switch and then I'll sell everything. X86 handheld it is then, with Linux, even if it'll come with Windows, I'll put Linux on it. This is where I'm saying bye to my fellow Nintendo gamers, good luck to you all.
I can't imagine 3+4 without almost all of the original songs! They could do it before with 1+2, they can do it now. Absolutely no excuses, as this is essential. End of story.
I started from THPS2 and this is my favourite one. I'll never forget 100s of hours spent there with Millencolin and No Cigar. Then the next one is THPS3 and I'm happy that the gameplay will stay untouched. The worst thing is that people who love THPS4 will be harmed in all of this. It's very nice to see an article about this series and someone who is around the same age. This series of games is important for us not only because of the gameplay, but also because of the music. Insane soundtracks that introudced us to all the bands that we then kept discovering by listening to their whole albums. I would probably never knew for example Millencolin, Bad Religion, Alient Ant Farm (and so on) otherwise. About 1+2, I still give it 9.5/10 because it's one of the most incredible remakes of all time and I think that they gave justice to the originals. I play it so often on my Switch, I'm using a mod that makes everything look better (modded Switch). One of the reasons why I'll never sell my Switch. I'll buy THPS 3+4 at some point, but when it'll cost a lot less. I hate what they've done to THPS4 and I feel bad for people who like this game the most.
@StrawHat19 It's ok. Well, but it also doesn't mean that they have to dumb down the gameplay. For me this is reimagination of the 4th one. They just made a big step back for no reason. There's still the 3rd one there that has the old style gameplay. Insanely bad decision for all the THPS4 fans and in general as well.
@RupeeClock The problem is that it already contains a portion of Yuzu's source code (doesn't matter which one). Nintendo now owns the rights to Yuzu and that's the whole problem. I have no idea what devs of this project are thinking, it's... over.
"Yuzu settled for $2.4 million, ceasing development and handing the code over to Nintendo."
@StrawHat19 "Get hyped for the legendary return of the birdman himself in the next-gen remake of Tony Hawk’s™ Pro Skater™ 3 + 4, arriving on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC."
Quite the opposite. Right now, this will be a reimagination.
@Hwatt It was memorable because of the career mode (main mode of this one and next ones) that later on became story mode. That was a big change in the whole series, it was something fresh. They won't be delivering that, because there won't be free roam anymore. You won't be able to do everything at your own pace or whichever way you like it. Better or worse? Worse for sure and convenient for devs.
I like changes, but not drastical changes in gameplay. Imagine keeping this formula in the next remakes or rather reimaginations now. This just won't work out.
@Hwatt It was situational, about battle system itself, I'm not talking about genre. Career mode in 4th one was something new, now we're taking a step back from it. Imagine doing something like this to Underground 1+2. If so, there's no point in even releasing them. The whole series changed starting from THPS4, why would you go back? Why would you want to change the gameplay so drastically? Because the first 1+2 worked? They worked, because it was the same in the originals. Just name it differently and don't tell people that
"Everything you loved is back, but revamped with more skaters, new parks, gnarlier tricks, eardrum shattering music, plus a whole lot more. "
This is just a lie, nothing more. This is not what people loved about it. It was everything that they want to remove in this remake.
Sorry, but in 99% of the cases emulation = piracy. I'm in that 1% where I just wanted to have Diablo III offline experience on my PC. Everything else can burn as I have Switch and I have all the carts. I'm not against emulation iteself, I love what it offers, but it is what it is. Nintendo won't let it go because of the backwards compatibility so soon we'll see it being taken down.
P.S. Yuzu's code used in this project belongs to Nintendo now, so... you know.
Just when you think that everything will be fine after almost perfect 1+2, and that you just can't screw it up - something like this comes up. Sorry for writing so much, but I'm mad as hell.
Omfg, what?! Ok. Explain me this please. How dare you make such a big change in a classic? You're literaly changing a gameplay, this is NOT a remake anymore. Like wtf are you doing? Leaving THPS3 as it should be, but then decide to make an enormous change to the next one? How do you think that will go for you and the fans of the series? Do you think that after this people will wait for something other like maybe Undergound "remakes"? They won't be remakes anymore if you're changing the formula. Who asked you and who allowed you to do this and butcher one of the games?
P.S. Pre-order cancelled, I do NOT support something like this. I'll get it one day when it'll be dirt cheap. Back to 1+2
I don't like it, but it doesn't matter. What matters is, how many times will you play the same games over and over again? Until your eyes and brain will puke?
Multiplayer part will need to be downloaded, but not single player. Just like the last time, I'm fine with this. Well, I'm not, because of ***** (and expensive, but why consumer has to care about it?) Switch carts in general, but I'll take it. No excuses with Switch 2 tho in the future.
