CvS2... I'll probably double dip on this collection. As much as I don't buy digitals, I'll get it and then physical. I can't wait to play it online again!
Shuhei Yoshida, former CEO who said that PS Vita was a mistake. Please, hold me. The only mistake was Sony's lack of support and the device itself was phenomenal. And yes, nowadays I would play it safe just like Nintendo. It will be a success. Angry? Jelly?
I see no reason why a game from 2023 can't be fully on cart in its current state, other than Capcom cheaping out as they did with most of their releases.
For me the best soccer/football game on Switch is still Captain Tsubasa and nothing will change it. I waited for a game like this since I was a kid and watched the original anime.
I love the subtitle lol! Alright, they're going full bonkers with the $666 release, I absolutely love it and love the idea. The price tho... go to hell.
People don't really have a problem with the price of the console, it's all about game prices, fake physical releases and to some also the paid upgrades. If you're not like me and you'll get Switch 2, you'll be probably just buying less games and that's it. Hoping everyone will be happy with it.
@LoroTalby "For all the hundreds of pro-physical game posts we see, could we at least see one representing the other side of the argument?"
There's no argument, what's wrong with digital games? Are they unavailable? We're talking about stupid game-key cards instead of a full physical release. That's the problem. If you're good with digital games that's fine. On the other fence, people want full games on physical. So I don't understand what you're writing about.
in general, both have their advantages and disadvantages. It's all about full game on carts, that's why it's so loud about it.
Even Nobunaga's Ambition that has a full physical release of the Switch 1 version? Congratulations! This shows a lot. Expect at least 60%-70% of games to be releaed as a game-key card then. Also I agree with him 100%, I keep saying this over and over again.
@EarthboundBenjy It's literally why he tweeted only this. Why do you think ex-president of Nintendo of America didn't add anything to that? It's so obvious what he did, simple deduction.
@Yoshi3 Exactly this and there's no need to cry for them. People just don't know what they're saying sometimes. Profit from new MK will be insane for them. That's pure greed, yes.
@Yoshi3 It's easy to tell how much new Mario Kart is really worth in money. Bundle will get you it for $50 and at this price they're willing to sell it. Simple as that. Everything else is a pure profit if not extra profit or extra extra profit in this case.
I just read new comment, exactly what you're saying.
@LUIGITORNADO What losses? What are the profits, contribution, expenses? If you don't know what they are, you can't talk about any losses and you can't predict.
"But if it’s the only place where you can play Mario, then you get your wallet out and you buy into it"
No, thanks you don't tell people what to do and tell them that it's alright. Give them $20 gift card and then it'll be fine for many in this situation, and you can repeat it.
You had recently requested to buy the Nintendo Switch 2 on amazon.co.uk.

@Mommar Consumers shouldn't worry about that, they want a full game on a physical media. It's not their problem that the media itself is expensive to make, who chose it and is making it? Nintendo. It's all on them.
@Medic_alert Isn't it still the same though despite the enchancement? Just like any other game that will get it? Think about it, enchancement won't make it fully Switch 2 game, the whole code won't be rewritten.
"If we tried to use technology like software emulators...we’d have to run Switch 2 at full capacity, but that would mean the battery wouldn't last so long, so we did something that’s somewhere in between a software emulator and hardware compatibility."
Essentially, instead of pure emulation, the team developed a system that can translate and play Switch game data in real time. This saves the battery life, and overcomes the incompatibility problem. It's interesting to see the transparency here, Nintendo are working through games on the Switch 2, finding that some are not running so well, whilst others benefit, with the aim to ensure full compatibility with not just the Switch 2 console, but its new camera and Game Chat functions.
@tho_mi I don't think so. 1st party games probably will never reach even 32GB. 3rd parties won't bother with additional costs that will come with this.
@datamonkey Even without patches at least 90% of games you can finish for start to finish and that's what I expect when I'm buying physical media. Patches are alright only when they don't require downloading one that's the the size of the base game itself. That already has been the case for Switch games.
Overpriced, expensive format with low capacity where even 64GB might not be enough at some point for Switch 2 games. Good job Nintendo, just like with the first Switch. Companies will use game-key cards more often, because they will want to maximize profits without getting into unnecessary expenses. Primary reason why I'm not getting the new console as I am/was a physical collector.
@Anti-Matter 1st party will be full, yes. 3rd parties? You know, Switch 2 is in the age of 50+GB AAA titles. Companies won't pay for 64GB carts and everyone will see either game-key cards or something like let's say L.A. Noire where you had do download the rest of the game. It will be prety ugly, again. Smaller games should be fine, but it depends. It's Limited Run Games & co all over again situation, instead of giving people full games for even higher prices now. It's just unbeliavable to me.
So in summary, a lot of 3rd party big releases will be a game-key card. That's why Nintendo came up with this bullcrap, for them. To save their money, not buyer's and not with the idea that you can resell them. Remember, they're corporations and all they care about is profit with as little effort as possible.
CDPR said that it was an early build, being made in 7 weeks and that it doesn't represent the final product. It looks and runs good, that's 7 weeks, it'll run even better.
@Anti-Matter Nintendo games will ALWAYS be full on cart, no matter what. 1. They don't take a lot of space. 2. They would never do it, because it's their own invention (carts). At least that from them.
All the others, I don't even want to talk about it. We all had the demo experience from buying carts for first Switch, code in a box nonsense and prelude to game-key card aka Metal Gear Solid Collection for example.
@Spider-Kev That's the problem here, when I'm buying physical I just want to put it inside of a console and play it. I don't care about patches if game allows me to play it from the start to the end then I'm happy and this is how it should be. Not some new game-key card stupid invention.
@Medic_alert Yeah and I hate this. I had enough of demo versions (download the rest of the game) on Switch carts and now this, that's why I'm out. I'm just tired of this.
@Medic_alert Yes, but then there's a new problem with the game-key cards that I predict will be a large % of the "physical" releases, so I wouldn't count on that. Exactly this about digital as well, one + the other.
@BenAV You know, it just depends on the person. I love having all my games with me without having to download them over and over again. Others will be happy with for example 256 or 512GB overall. Play game, finish, remove and download another.
Well, pay absolutely for everything Directly kind of Direct. And pay a lot, especially for digital games or "physicals" (game-key cards) that I'm suspecting will be around 60%-70% overall. Beside that I like the hardware, except for the battery that right after "physicals" is a reason for me to not get it. Well, I'm happy tho for all the people who will buy it and will have fun with it. You'll finally get some strong machine that will be able to keep up with new releases.
@Medic_alert Exactly, I do have 2TB now but I had the same problem before with a 1TB. With Switch 2 even 1TB or 2TB will be a problem at some point. That is if you want to have all of your games installed there as well.
