Well... that's nothing new with Nintendo. Switch Pro, exactly what everyone wanted. Just late, quite late, but it seems that not too late.

@Duncanballs Yep, you're right. I hoped that game-key cards wouldn't sell well, but the more I read comments everywhere the more I start to think that next iteration of Switch will be digital only. They will be happy that they can resell it and that's it. People who won't be buying them are just a small percentage overall. It's already done, before it even started.

Just don't take it as an excuse for game-key cards please. There's no excuse for them to even exist. If you release a physical game, put it all on cart. Yes, it will be more expnesive for you, but you'll treat your customer with dignity and respect. Your product will sell better as well. I don't know, what's here more to explain?

Onimusha at 8.7mil... that's kinda embarrassing. Such good games! I hope that with the new Onimusha numbers will grow, a lot.

Bought in on GOG finally and playing it on Ally X. If you'll get a Switch 2 then this is a must buy! Not only because it's fully on cart. Damn, what a game...

@OldManHermit Yes, that's a brand new game! Can't believe that finally Ninja Gaiden is getting new installment and Onimusha as well. Shame that Capcom spits out Onimusha HD versions one by one with such pain. Old Ninja Gaiden games were easily released as whole, here it's like... I don't even want to write. Full remakes of Onimusha would be great tho, like for example Ninja Gaiden 2 Black.

Ally X looks very good, i have it... but this thing? It looks like some cheap counterfeit from AliExpress. Is this a competition to make the ugliest (and biggest possible) x86 handheld now?

Just don't use it and instead choose for example Signal's video or voice group calling. There are so many ways to make something like this completely private.

@Olmectron That's a very... unique perspective overall. So, we don't own anything really according to you. I don't know what's your treshold for owning something, how many years to feel that you like you really own something But you know, people look differently at things in life, so that's interesting.

In all seriousness, problem is that they ripped out everything that made physical a physical, except the possibility of reselling. It's just a version of digital DRM in a physical form. No more putting a cart into the cnosole's slot and just playing the game straight away after buying it as it should be. No internet? You're out of luck. They're taking away everything that made the physical edition valuable. Switch 2 is entering an era of +60GB AAA games and that will be really hard to swallow, at some point even with additional microSD card. One of the very real reasons among others that were brought millions of times already.

Shuhei Yoshida, you know what has to happen eventually? Releasing complete FINISHED games, like in the old days. Then you can charge this much. Why I can get for example complete music album or a complete movie but with games, I very often can't even finish it because it's so bugged?

No. This is up to developers to release game in a good state, stop covering yourself with patches. If the game can be finished from start till the end and it's a good experience then we're all good and happy. Yes, CEO of Nightdive Studios is absolutely right. Games should be full on media, that's all that there is to it. Scammy piece of plastic called game-key card shouldn't even exist, everyone knows that and no one should take it as a norm. I hope that sales of them will be marginal, for the sake of all of us who want something that should be a standard - full game on a cart.

@electrolite77 Exacly. And it's not about value, it differs for everyone. It's about the media that they're trying to push. Physical is physical, not a digital DRM smuggled as a physical release. I just hope that people won't be stupid.

@BaldB3lper78 If I pay $60-$80 or even $90 for a physical game, I expect it to be there. Don't write for the companies, they can afford the costs. They just minimize them as much as they can. They don't care about customer, only profits. Don't stand by their side, they don't care about you. Demand what you should get in the first place, as a customer.

No. There should be one only physical release to begin with, with full game. You don't want to release on a physical media? Release it as digital only. This is how it should be. Game-key cards are only a new form of digital DRM in a physical form. They serve no purpose at all. With this, Nintendo died for me. No more reason to get their console anymore.

Exactly as I said and predicted, 90% of Switch 2 games will be like that. Physical games for Switch 2 are officially dead.

Shuhei Yoshida, former CEO who said that PS Vita was a mistake. Please, hold me. The only mistake was Sony's lack of support and the device itself was phenomenal. And yes, nowadays I would play it safe just like Nintendo. It will be a success. Angry? Jelly?
