I love Pikmin, but I just got a WiiU a year ago and played through this. I want to own it on Switch eventually, but I’m in no rush. Total spent on WiiU + Pikmin 3, $70.

Looks cool, but Ubisoft games drop in price quickly. I’ll probably grab this by next summer for ~$25.

I didn’t love Odyssey overall, it’s a good game, but just doesn’t reach the heights of some of its predecessors. Now a sequel that takes the 2D ideas from Odyssey and runs with them would be amazing!

Why not just put the game on that NES cartridge? Now that would be cool.

I’ve got it preordered, but could Just not pick it up if reviews are bad or if Walmart discounts it. But it looks cool, and the price is good.

I’m not buying any more until drift is fixed. I’ve sent all 4 of mine in for repair, the left ones twice.

I’ll be waiting for the inevitable physical release, so it’s all good. Looks awesome!

@Krambo42 I definitely don't think their games have been awful up to this point, I just think they have been overrated. Pirates Curse was probably my favorite of the ones I've played. I agree with your sentiment, which is what I was trying to get at myself, I'm not surprised that they can make an awful game.

It's cool that a lot of people love WayForward games, but because of the hype surrounding the company I've tried out a lot of their stuff and been extremely underwhelmed. I lost even more respect for them when they partnered with Limited Run to charge $30 (much closer to $40 with shipping and tax) for a direct port of a single GB Color game on Switch, but they know their fans will eat it up. Remember when people flipped out about Collection of Mana for $40? Or Mario 3D All Stars? Not so when WayForward gives even less.

Never played a warriors game, and it doesn’t look like much fun to me. I will be trying it out though. I want to know the full story leading up to my favorite game of all time, and I hope I will be surprised at how fun the gameplay is.

Put all the Sega Ages games on a cartridge and I’ll buy it.

@BulbasaurusRex They already had a name, shooters. Side scrolling shooters, top down shooters. They really have nothing in common with movies by the likes of John Woo, or starring Stallone or Schwarzenegger. If anything FPS (or 3rd person) have more in common with that genre. I know there isn’t much point in this discussion as the term has been widely adopted, but you could say the same about all the other terms in this article. I wouldn’t even mind “classic shooter”, but shmup is so idiotic I have literally spent time looking for a content blocker that could find and replace the word (yeah, I know), and shoot ‘em up just doesn’t make sense to me.

60fps for 64 and Sunshine?

Can’t believe “shmup” isn’t here. Stupidest term ever coined. They are and always have been shooters. Doesn’t matter that FPS have become more popular. The term “shoot-em-up” doesn’t even make sense for this genre, invoking more of an action movie vibe than ships shooting down enemies.

How many people complaining about the cost/limited nature of this collection are going to go and buy every individually released Shantae game from Limited Run and Way Forward today?

Disappointed that this is the Zelda game for the year. I would've preferred a port of Wind Waker or Twilight Princess HD to a hack and slash game. But I will probably pick it up to play through the story of the great calamity. Only ever played a few minutes of any Musou games and lost interest very quickly.

Was hoping Tropical Freeze would be part of this sale. I think it has only hit $40 once before.

This is the first game I’ve looked forward to this year. Kind of sucks there haven’t been others to get excited about for me, but glad to finally have one!

I got it for $10 on WiiU and finished it early this year. Still want it for Switch, but I can wait for a sale, even though they rarely seem to come.

Semi interested, but these are guaranteed to be $30 or $35 each for Switch. Add an arm for taxes and a leg for shipping and it’s just silly for games of their age. A reasonably priced collection would’ve been great. Remember all the crying foul when Collection of Mana was announced at $40? One of the games was even newly translated.

@TYRANACLES They make horrible D-Pads that often confuse left or right with up and down (personal experience from my SF30 Pro and two different SN30 Pro +s that I’ve had). However, I really like the arcade stick I got from them. I recommend an extended warranty so you don’t have to send any products you buy to China for repair at your own expense.

I’m pretty sure Strictly Limited said their collection would be the only complete edition, but that other releases would be coming. They still have copies of their collection for sale because of the outrageous price.

This is a deal breaker. Already have the game digitally, and the price of the cartridge is more than double the original price without including everything. I rarely buy digital, and I hate to double dip.

I’d buy it in HD assuming it has good motion controls, the Wii version looks terrible. I always thought the controls on Skyward Sword were highly immersive.

Played through it on Switch late last year, and it was great! Not happy that the version on the cartridge is crappy from what I hear, but I got it for $20. Hopefully they will make a sequel and this experience will help them rectify the issues.

Is this still getting a retail release? I know LRG did a collector’s edition, and Japan and Asia already got releases, but I’ve been holding out for North American retail. If that’s not happening I’d like to know so I can grab the Asia release.

Got a WiiU for $60 and Pikmin 3 for $10 late last year since I was tired of waiting for a handful of ports. I’ll buy it on Switch when it goes on sale because it’s a great game, although the first is still my favorite, and the GameCube controls were the best for this series.

@koldKat @javiboy2 Oh, well even less chance of the fix being on the cart. I was going by Play-Asia’s release date. Maybe Strictly Limited will have a different version though.

I took a chance on this series back on the Wii and was underwhelmed. I wouldn’t mind trying this one if it gets cheap (like a selects release), but I’m in no rush.

I wish they would add individual playtime limits per account.

Well I got something out of this. Contra 4. Never played it, was unaware of it, but now I will be playing it thanks to comments from prior to the reveal, so it’s all good.

Was pretty excited for RCG, but it ended up being a disappointment. It felt like what it was, Americans trying to make a game that takes place in Japan. It was inauthentic and just didn’t work. Like Lucy Liu trying to speak Japanese in Kill Bill.

Of course Castlevania Collection is coming out after I finally broke down and bought the digital version. Been eyeing Contra, but haven’t bought that yet, which explains why it isn’t coming

I’m happy to wait on this one to see where the general consensus lands. Maybe pick it up for around $40 someday if it’s good.

It might be time to fix up one of my sucky 8bitdo dpads and give DKC another shot.

I was hoping for an Ys collection, but happy to be getting this one. Not looking forward to paying $40 for each game, but probably will.

I ordered the arcade collection from Strictly Limited. Looking forward to getting that. I have the PC Engine games on the mini as well, so not sure I need all those console versions. We will see. Maybe on sale.

I loved this game on Switch, played it around December with the first gameplay patch and only had issues with the boss on the giant tower. These additions don’t interest me much though. I might try classic mode.

Hopefully they’ll learn from their mistakes and make a sequel that launches well on Switch or its successor.

Last year they announced Blaster Master Zero at E3, and they just started taking preorders!

Only the first set of games are on the Namcot Collection from what I see on amazon Japan.

@JJtheTexan I had never heard of SS64, and I’m shocked because I was living in Japan (and going to a lot of arcades) when it came out. You’re right that adding the two 3D games would’ve really made this collection special.

Definitely getting this, and also downloading the PC version for free from the Epic Store.

Nothing until Clubhouse Games thanks to 2K cheaping out on the Bioshock cartridge (same for Outer Worlds). I’ll probably pick up Xenoblade on sale someday, but I haven’t finished 2 yet so it can wait.
