Last night's Nintendo Direct was full of surprises. We got confirmations of Splatoon 3, Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, Mario Golf: Super Rush and plenty more but, like before, the Japanese presentation got a few announcements we didn't receive.

eBASEBALL Professional Baseball Spirits 2021 Grand Slam
The first is eBASEBALL Professional Baseball Spirits 2021 Grand Slam. Published by Konami, their latest entry in this long-running baseball series features new player data for the 2021 baseball season, with over 10 game modes planned. That includes the new “Championship” mode and a “Grand Prix” mode where you can lead your own team. Sadly, based on previous releases, this one seems unlikely to get localised.
Crayon Shin-chan "Ora and Dr. Summer Vacation" - A Seven-Day Trip That Never Ends
Secondly, we have Crayon Shin-chan "Ora and Dr. Summer Vacation" - A Seven-Day Trip That Never Ends. Based on the popular manga series, it follows five-year-old Shinnosuke "Shin-chan" Nohara in his adventures across Kasukabe. It's seen numerous adaptations before, but outside a few releases in Spain, most have remained Japanese exclusive. Unfortunately, that doesn't look set to change.
The Caligula Effect 2
Finally, there was The Caligula Effect 2, the sequel to 2019's The Caligula Effect: Overdose. Bringing us a similar premise to its predecessor, we find our cast stuck inside a false reality but ideal reality, looking to return to the real world. Considering the first game was previously localised, we'd say there's a much better chance of this one coming to the West.

Japan often get a lot of cool stuff that I'd wish would get localised but can't say I'd be too excited about any of these ones anyway.
I think eBaseball and Shin Chan would have been my direct highlight if I would be able to read the language.
That Shin-Chan game looks gorgeous! I wish more modern games opted for detailed pre-rendered backgrounds like that.
I read the Crayon Shin Chan game was made by the guy that made the My Summer Vacation games, Kaz Ayabe. Was also the designer for Attack of the Friday Monsters. So expect that style of game. Now I really want to get that and pray, hope, whatever, that it somehow makes it’s way outside of Japan. I’m at least going to import it.
Nobody for the Caligula Effect sequel in the comments yet? That's the one I'm looking forward to being localized at some point.
ohhhh!!! I really want that Shin Chan game! I am from Catalonia and we love the anime here!! I hope we get it translated at some point
I would absolutely buy that Shin Chan game if it came out outside of Japan. I loved the cartoons back then and the game actually looks like fun.
Meh nothing to write home about, a Japanese baseball game, an anime adventure game, and an anime action game. The baseball game looks cool though, if it had motion control it would be lots of fun. The anime adventure game is cute but if exploration is just limit to that one town then it will get boring fast, the last game looks too much like a Persona ripoff.

I feel like a lot of games that was in the NA direct should have been exclusive to Japan. Just the announcement itself.

Lovely news.. I like all of them.. especially that gorgeous Shinchan and Caligula game. I'd suggest anyone to learn japanese.. worth it for me.
Still I wonder why Konami, will release its Baseball game in Switch, but no its Football game (Pro evolution soccer)?
The Shin Chan game looks fun and pretty stunning. I hope it either get somehow a english text update or finds the way to the west.

Caligula 2 will likely be localised, but they probably didn't want to bother announcing it yet as it's still a while away.
I kind of want that baseball game though.
Used to read Shin-chan when I lived in Japan. My skills aren't what they used to be though. Might be time for a refresher course, probably going to import this one!
