@JimmySpades If you say so. I don’t like being referred to as a “consumer.” I am aware that it is in regards to someone who uses up the value of an item, making it worth less. I find the concept altogether backward. As a producer, one should look at customers as people who are enriched by your products, assuming that you believe your products have value. One can understand a concept and still find it repulsive.
In Japanese the word for customer and guest are the same, and that is a more respectful way of looking at people.
One should never refer to people who buy their products as “consumers.” It’s disrespectful and downright dehumanizing. From what I remember Reggie was much more respectful, calling people “customers” (as one would expect from a Japanese company).
@RupeeClock Nice that they offered you that option. I told them what the shipping costs were and asked for any other options but they said that was the only one. I usually tell people they should at least buy an extended warranty if they’re going to get one.
@RupeeClock I’ve had 2 SN30 Pro+ controllers, and both have wonky D-Pads. It took a few months of light use to develop, but either I got unlucky twice (3 times if you count my SF30 Pro) or 8bitdo still hasn’t figured out how to make a good D-Pad. I wouldn’t mind so much if their warranty solution wasn’t “send it to us in China and we’ll fix it.” I did pack it up and take it to the post office, but the shipping was going to cost almost as much as the controller.
I liked the original, and improvements are welcome. When they bring over Twilight Princess I hope they give the option of motion controls as well. I played it that way originally, and was disappointed the WiiU dropped them.
@BloodNinja I know your comment wasn’t to me, but their customer service is a joke, unless you are prepared to spend the money to send your defective unit to China for repair.
Are the D Pads going to be junk on these like the rest of their controllers? I still can’t believe the praise 8 bitdo get for their products. I’ve had an SF30 Pro, and 2 SN30 Pro+ controllers, and every one of them has problems with false reads on the D Pad. It really ruins a game of Tetris or a demanding platformer.
Looks like the standard version finally sold out. Glad I got my order in when it was announced. Really looking forward to this. I'm glad SLG tries to release games that really otherwise wouldn't make it to the west (or at all).
This is easily solved, make the game available on cloud for OG owners, and cartridge for Switch Pro owners. Not everyone will be happy, but that’s par for the course. I don’t know what 3rd party would want to ignore an install base of 80 million for a tiny fraction of that audience.
@doctorhino Perhaps, you can see it that way if you choose. For me, saying that you don’t like something doesn’t necessarily equate to whining. But when it drags on and on for months and months across news story after news story it becomes tedious. The point has been made. And my point has been made very clearly as well, I can’t wait for this to pass. I don’t intend to keep posting about it in every new story either.
@Burning_Spear True, but I mean the news stories that provide a platform for the whining will subside. I mean, there are 2 stories in the last day about it.
@HXLXIII I’ve had them fixed multiple times. Are you suggesting there is a permanent fix? Either way I don’t feel like investing in defective hardware.
I loved Skyward Sword, and at the time thought it would be really hard to go back to using traditional controls. I'm really looking forward to this. I only wish they had improved the graphics a bit more, they still look very "wii".
Used to read Shin-chan when I lived in Japan. My skills aren't what they used to be though. Might be time for a refresher course, probably going to import this one!
@TurboTEF I wish Strictly Limited would remove VAT for international orders. I’ve asked them about it a few times and they always say they might do it in the future. If more people bug them about it they might get it done.
Agreed. Back when I first started playing RPGs (on the Master System with Miracle Warriors and Phantasy Star) I didn't mind it so much. These days I just don't have the time or inclination to spend an hour or more grinding just to progress to the next area. A few months ago I got Ys Origin, but I gave up on it about halfway through after I realized I needed to grind 40 minutes for each boss. That's just not worth it now, which is saying something because every run I ever did of Ys 1 involved grinding as soon as I started the game until I could afford the most expensive sword
This looks great, and I can’t wait to play it when the inevitable physical version comes out. I do wish we could move past the 8 bit aesthetic and onto more 16 bit inspired indie games though.
I wonder how many of these are destined for eBay, or if the total includes Best Buy’s order. I’ll probably order a copy in a few weeks, hopefully paired with something else to save on shipping.
I’d buy these on cartridge, already have the Belt Action and Street Fighter collections. But digital is of no interest to me beyond getting 1943 for free.
Nice, glad this exists for the people that want it. I tried the first one on Switch and it isn't really my thing anymore. Love seeing that they made it happen though. If I were going to play it I'd definitely do so on Switch.
@Mr_Humpf Agree 100%. I put about 15 hours into it, but don’t have a desire to do more. It’s not a bad game, I just got tired of the combat. The rice growing is pretty fun though.
@RetrovisRabbit Hmm, can’t say I agree that this has great appeal to people with an interest in Japan. I lived there for a few years, studied the language/culture, and lived with 3 different Japanese families. I think this game is ok. 7 seems pretty fair. I see this game going out of print and selling for double on eBay within a year because it won’t have mass appeal.
Hmm, was interested but not after reading these comments and the review. Thanks. Also what’s up with no online when the pc version has it? I’d love a Mario Party style game I could play with my siblings around the country.
Switch only this generation. None of the games coming for the other consoles appeal to me at all, and I have more games than I can get to anyway. Hoping for a Switch Pro though.

Re: Nintendo Partners With Superstar K-Pop Group TWICE In New Switch Promotion
@hakjie11 You’re not kidding, especially for the people behind the camera.
Re: Dev Explains Why Nintendo Made Mario's Anniversary Games Limited-Time
Was this not clear before? Seems pretty obvious.

Re: Astronaut Thriller Breathedge Is About One Man And His Pet Chicken In Space
I’m here for the awesome tagline!
And the poultry.
Re: "Lost Classic" Clockwork Aquario Gets Its First Teaser Trailer
Nice to see some footage, as I bought 2 standard copies sight unseen! Hoping it’s great!
Re: 8BitDo Reveals Its New "Pro 2" Bluetooth Controller, Compatible With Switch
@RupeeClock Nice that they offered you that option. I told them what the shipping costs were and asked for any other options but they said that was the only one. I usually tell people they should at least buy an extended warranty if they’re going to get one.
Re: Close To 190 Employees Have Reportedly Been Laid Off By Activision Blizzard, Due To Impact Of The Pandemic
Ugh, I know a couple of producers over there. Hopefully they didn’t get cut.

Re: Switch Is Now Nintendo's Second Best-Selling System In The US, In "Tracked History"
This is all good, but some of these records just seem arbitrary "The best selling console in any February on record!"
Re: EA Job Listing Suggests Madden Could Be Coming To Switch
Not interested in supporting the NFL. They need to work out a way to bring back a college football game.
Re: Where To Buy Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros.
If we get a deal in the U.S. I'll probably grab one, but so far I've successfully resisted.
Re: Nintendo Plugs Skyward Sword HD With "Elements" Later Adopted In Zelda: Breath Of The Wild
Is this new? I seem to remember Aonuma mentioning these similarities in the direct.

Re: A New Patch For Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night Is Now Available
I really enjoyed this game about a year ago on Switch. I’d love to get a final physical release with all the updates.

March 31st can’t come soon enough. I’m tired of all the whining.
Re: Review: Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection - A Masochistic Medieval Marvel
Going to need a physical version or a deep discount. Digital games just don’t have much value for me.
Re: Gallery: Behold, The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword Joy-Con
@HXLXIII I’ve had them fixed multiple times. Are you suggesting there is a permanent fix? Either way I don’t feel like investing in defective hardware.
Re: Gallery: Behold, The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword Joy-Con
They look really cool, but I'm not buying any more joycons until they fix them.
Re: Soapbox: Zelda: Skyward Sword Is Good, Actually

Re: Rumour: Zelda's 35th Anniversary Will See The Return Of Wind Waker And Twilight Princess
@Yosher That’s why they’ll be limited to 6 month availability, so they won’t have a chance to go down in price.
Re: After 33 Years, Famicom Detective Club Is Finally Coming To The West
@Snaplocket Because they game takes place in Japan, and also isn't likely to be a huge seller, I highly doubt they will make a dub.
I'll be waiting for a physical release, but this was one of the more interesting announcements for me.
Re: Save Up To 87% In Arc System Works' Switch Sale (North America)
I want the Kunio collection on cartridge, but if it drops to $10 I’d get it digitally. Still waiting for one or the other.

Re: The Outer Worlds' First Expansion Comes To Nintendo Switch Next Week
Was just thinking about starting this one. Probably won’t buy the DLC, but happy for the tweaks.
Re: Reggie Admits Switch Was A "Make Or Break Product" For Nintendo After Poor Performance Of Wii U
I skipped the WiiU, mostly because it never had an original Zelda game until the end, and the price never dropped.

@Solomon18 I feel the same. Blossom Tales was one of my biggest regret purchases.
Re: Super Mario 3D World's Platforming Will Be "Snappier" On Switch, Gyro Support Included
Waiting for a discount on this one, but getting more and more tempted to get it day one.
Re: Feature: Cyber Shadow Dev On 8-Bit Classics And How We Can Thank Yacht Club For The Switch Launch

Re: Scott Pilgrim For Switch Becomes Limited Run's "Biggest" Physical Release Ever
I wonder how many of these are destined for eBay, or if the total includes Best Buy’s order. I’ll probably order a copy in a few weeks, hopefully paired with something else to save on shipping.
Re: The SNES Almost Got A Zelda-Style Back To The Future II RPG
There’s really no info on that page suggesting a Zelda-like game. I would imagine more of an Earthbound style, which would have been great.
Re: Axiom Verge Is Getting Its "First Ever" Free Update Almost Six Years After Launch
Loved the game, probably won’t go back for this, but looking forward to the sequel.
Re: Kingdom Two Crowns Update Coming To Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night
Loved the game. Classic mode might get me to go back to it.
Re: Capcom Arcade Stadium Brings More Retro Action To Switch Early Next Year
I’d buy these on cartridge, already have the Belt Action and Street Fighter collections. But digital is of no interest to me beyond getting 1943 for free.
Re: Upcoming Metroidvania DeathStick Is Changing Its Name To Akatori
@SirAileron Haha, I'm not the only one. If they want it to be Akatori they have to remove the hiragana!
Re: Review: DOOM Eternal - This 'Impossible' Port Is Nothing Short Of A Miracle

Re: Japanese Charts: Switch Sales Remain Strong As Next-Gen Systems Hit The Market
@westman98 I haven’t been paying attention to the Japanese charts, but when I lived in Japan a western game topping the charts was unthinkable.
Re: Japanese Charts: Switch Sales Remain Strong As Next-Gen Systems Hit The Market
COD and AC are at the top of the charts in Japan? Things have changed.
Re: Ubisoft Reveals Its Post-Launch DLC For Immortals Fenyx Rising
This is fine, I’m in no rush so I’ll just wait for the inevitable “complete” release.
Re: Review: Sakuna: Of Rice And Ruin - A Unique Farming Sim Which Requires Vast Reserves Of Patience
@RetrovisRabbit Hmm, can’t say I agree that this has great appeal to people with an interest in Japan. I see this game going out of print and selling for double on eBay within a year because it won’t have mass appeal.
Re: Billion Road To Receive Physical Switch Release, Will Be Distributed By LRG
Hmm, was interested but not after reading these comments and the review. Thanks. Also what’s up with no online when the pc version has it? I’d love a Mario Party style game I could play with my siblings around the country.
Re: Poll: Which Will Be Your Second Console - PS5 Or Xbox Series X?
Switch only this generation. None of the games coming for the other consoles appeal to me at all, and I have more games than I can get to anyway. Hoping for a Switch Pro though.
