Immortals Fenyx Rising has captured the attention of many players due to the fact that it looks a lot like Zelda: Breath of the Wild – which, lest we forget, isn't a bad thing at all, given that Breath of the Wild 2 isn't going to be with us for a while yet.
When the game was previewed not so long ago, the fact that the Switch build wasn't on offer did make us wonder if the Nintendo edition might slip a little in terms of release date, but it has been confirmed today that isn't the case.
Immortals Fenyx Rising will hit the Switch on December 3rd – the same day as the Xbox and PlayStation versions – and you can pre-order it today.

So glad, I like all of you was worried we wouldn't get the dollar store breath of the wild until next year.
I can't say I'm particularly interested in what I saw, which is pretty much the case for all of Ubisoft's open world games.
Is there any footage of game running on switch? Im interested in the game but worried about performance.
@Fuksiarz I think the footage in the direct was on Switch. It certainly looked more Switch-like than the Stadia demo thats been used for review thus far.
I think it all looked pretty decent as far as Ubi games go.
Don’t worry, none of us are worried.
59,99 & in-app purchase... Thinking...
I'm very interested in the game, but it's a large open world game, and still no evidence it runs well on the switch. Im cautious about big games coming to the switch, since the switch has had some problems/compromises running them.
Not to add to the pile of negative replies... so I won't!
I'm really looking forward to this game. I really enjoyed the demo on Stadia and I just hope the Switch version's performance is up to snuff.
This is going to sound cynical - and it is - but I don't know how much faith I put in release dates outside of Nintendo's own at the moment. The way so many titles seem to get pushed back (some on release day...) I'm not sure that the pre-order means much.
@StevenG In terms of production values, calling it dollar store really misses the mark. It could be derivative or generic or a lot of other things, but it definitely isn't bargain bin or cheap. Both in literal cost and in budget. Also, virtually all previews so far have had almost nothing but great things to say about it. It's not like Breath of the Wild did much to innovate in the first place. Almost all the mechanics in it were things other games did before it. Nintendo just put them together in an impressive package.
Well guess this game will make Genshin Impact lose its impact on Switch.
@NGNYS There hasn't been any switch footage of the game yet. Nintendolife and other nintendo outlets only had access to a streaming version of Immortals on pc or something. Damian, the article writer above, mentions they didn't have access to a "switch build".
Edit: just saw today's direct, that footage might be switch.
Ok, I get the whole thing where games inspire other games. But man...this one feels a little too close doesnt it?
Shrines, four gods, powers of some sort. I get inspired by but this really does feel like Ubi just directly copied Breath of the wild. Even the Stamina for climbing is the exact same.
I dont like how the art style changed after the first reveal trailer.
Now 'this' I am hyped for! I just pray that it looks, runs and plays well on Switch. This and Age of Calamity are my two most anticipated AAA games right now!”.
@Deltath It's a knockoff, don't pretend otherwise. It might be a great knockoff, but it still a knockoff.
Sure everything was there before BOTW, but they put it together this way. These guys even kept the same art style!
@Fuksiarz Given how aliased the footage in that video is, I'm not sure what other system it could be for.
Just waiting to confirm the cartridge contents and I will pre-order.
Enjoyed the demo on Stadia, will get when its on sale.
I love how I can climb just about everything, tackle enemies in different ways, use towers to unlock the map, find a bunch of hidden things, use different weapons.
BotW or Assassins Creed? It's almost.....almost as if BotW didn't invent the open world genre, nor most of the mechanics it uses (including its art style).
Such a knee-jerk reaction from some to completely write a game off for doing what Ubisoft was already doing long before BotW.
Anyway, I'm really looking forward to it. I'll be skipping the Switch version though and picking it up on PC.
@StevenG It has tons of unique mechanics that aren't in Breath of the Wild. And it isn't cel shaded. Heavily inspired by? Sure. But since when is that a bad thing. You pick almost any popular franchise today and it's a reiteration of something before it. There are very few games that play like Breath of the Wild and it was only a matter of time that such a style developed and was used as a template for other games. It's how genres and sub-genres are born. Also, I took issue with the dollar store comment. Dollar store doesn't just mean a copy or imitation, it indicates a cheapness as well. Something like My Time at Portia is much more a dollar store knock off. Immortals is a high end knock off!
Already preordered. This, Sakuna and HW:AoC are my holiday games.
@Deltath I think that remains to be seen.
I expect it to be buggy and get loot boxes soon enough.
I need some kid icarus crossover love.
And expecting a lofty patch for the game to even be playable because Ubisoft prioritises rushing games to shelves than putting out a quality product.
I played the little demo on Stadia multiple times doing this week. I'm pretty impressed with what I've tried. It's just a game for me, so now I also pre-ordered it on Stadia.
The game seems to be a pretty good mix between Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Zelda: BOTW and the old God of War games.
It seems that they have taken the best parts from those three games, and made a really great Action Adventure.
I hope it sells well so Ubisoft and others choose to make more such games in the future.
There is still 1 day left to try the free demo at Stadia, for those who are interested.
All you need is a Gmail / Google Account to try it:

I feel like the Switch footage was pretty solid. This game is promising, so I hope it turns out well.
I played the Stadia demo and it's really good so I'm definitely getting it
Have played the Stadia demo a couple of times. The hard binding of actions to other actions means I could not customize the controls the way I wanted. Will have to get used to trigger attacking (DARK SOULS style) I guess. Also, the weight of the character seems off compared to Link in BOTW. Climbing and gliding seem very floaty.
I've seen the footage of the Switch version, and I can say the visual identity has been maintained. But some settings are clearly scaled back, once again no Ambient Occlusion
The world itself looks a bit less detailed on some respects, but at least the size and lighting are maintained, so I hope they won't bother too much when playing on handheld mode
Looking forward to this immensely. Will await details on inapp purchases before buying.
A good rule of thumb is not to pre-order Ubisoft open world games.
It's expected at this point that it will have tons of bugs on release.
Just a friendly heads up.
Don't come crying when your save gets corrupted three days after launch.
I’m looking forward to this but I’ll be buying on PS5
I was surprised how much I liked the look of this.. I guess I just skipped past it in previous directs. I’m thinking of picking this up- just don’t know if it will be Switch or Xbox for me.
Looks cool, but Ubisoft games drop in price quickly. I’ll probably grab this by next summer for ~$25.
