If you've been holding out for a physical release of Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2, you're in luck.
Physical specialist Limited Run Games has officially revealed its hard copy of the 2020 release for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. It was originally announced last July. Pre-orders open on 26th February and will run for four weeks.
In addition to a standard edition, there'll also be a "Classic Edition" including the game, reversible poster CD soundtrack, and retro dust sleeve in a NES-style box for $59.99. Pre-orders for this will begin on the same date.
"Demonkind's stronghold is once again under siege...Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2, the followup to @IntiCreatesEN's beloved 2D action game, is getting a Limited Run for Switch and PS4. Its four-week pre-order begins Friday, February 26 at 10am ET on http://limitedrungames.com."
"Alongside a Standard Edition, Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 is getting a Classic Edition featuring the game, a reversible poster, CD soundtrack, and retro dust sleeve in an NES-style box with art by Tom duBois!"
In our review for Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2, we said it was an extremely solid game that very slightly edged out an already excellent predecessor - awarding it eight out of ten stars.

Ohh, now that’s tempting.
I'll be getting the standard. The first was a blast to play through and I'm glad to have a physical cart of the second one.
I have been ordering a lot from LRG lately. Just received my copy of the physical version of Grandia HD collection and I would have dwelved into that world again if not for the pending release of Bravely Default 2 and the charming story and characters of FF9 (Dagger may be my fave FF girl at the moment). Video games are great.
I really liked the first one and bought it digital, wishing there was a physical release though. I might just get the sequel in physical form but the standard edition is good enough for me.
I missed out on the release of the first one. I will not miss this one! Getting the classic edition.
Screw Europe again, as usual. Why does it always have to be these guys and meanwhile others like Super Rare Games never come out with interesting stuff like that. It always seems like if one of the two gets a game, the other can't do it on the other side of the pond, forcing a pricey import with customs fees that nearly double the price.
@RudyC3 Eh, I just preordered three games from Strictly Limited (Monster World IV, Cotton, and Clockwork Aquario) and had to pay a bit more.
We'll just have to get over it.
That's an ugly cover art...
I'll just wait for Best Buy.
Oh good, been wondering when this would arrive. Though, I'm a little concerned because my last couple orders through these guys are still under production. Hopefully they can get these things out soon!
NINJA APPROVED
@RudyC3 LRG ships DDP to most European countries?
Never had to pay anything in addition to the international shipping costs.
They are also working on a distribution setup in the Netherlands. Not sure what the latest status is on that though.
Loved the first one, so will pre-order this!
But what happened to the Castlevania collection?
@Quarth I asked them and they replied that it is still coming but they have no release window.
@TurboTEF I wish Strictly Limited would remove VAT for international orders. I’ve asked them about it a few times and they always say they might do it in the future. If more people bug them about it they might get it done.
Insta-buy from me. Hopefully LRG will be able to start clearing their backlog of stuff I ordered last year, I think the pandemic has delayed a lot of stuff for them.
Perhaps they should work on the issues with bloodstained before working on sequels to spin-offs.
@Joekun Alright, I'll pester them as well
Bloodstained Curse of the Moon was my very first order from Limited Run Games. Such a great site with great physical games. I say that because Super Rare Games are quite bad.
I got only 2 of them Machinarium and Project Warlock. I wish they could release some higher quality games not just shovelware indies. (with the exception of some gems)
Have been waiting for this since E3 but already bought it since they didn't announce a release last year
Why aren't both games on the cartridge? Are they that big?
Been waiting a long time for this release. But i can wait a little longer and order it from Best Buy instead. Besides I still need to play Curse of the Moon 1.
I was very patient waiting on this one. I wanted to play it so bad but held out for the physical. The first I had to pay a big premium to get because I didn’t preorder, this time I won’t miss out. Loved the first game very much.
New Dubois box art in 2021, i'd buy it for that alone.
@Zuljaras Thanks for looking it up! Good to know they haven't cancelled it.
was hoping for some artwork
@PiXeLSteF I know they do but any video game that enters the EU territory through mail IS subject to taxes, it's just that some countries are more lenient than others on that front, or some just have way too many packages to open and have no choice but to let some slip through.
That doesn't change the fact that as long as LRG has exclusivity for the worldwide distribution of these games, Europeans will be treated like an afterthought and if you live on the continent like I do, then you HAVE to pay (in fact it's illegal not to, even if you could get away with it most of the time)
If they do open an operation here for the distribution of their products, that would change everything but knowing them, I'll believe it when I see it if it is like delivering their games to their customers sometimes a whole year after you pay for them.
@RudyC3 I am in Netherlands mate and when you order something outside of the EU with a DDP shipping option, you should be fine. I have received over 100 orders of LRG without any additional costs, while in non-DDP situations customs take every opportunity they get to charge me as is currently happening with orders from Super Rare Games.
Yes sometimes the wait takes like forever with LRG, but that is the concept: first they take your pre-order during the pre-order window, then it can take months of further preparation and start of actual production. Carts go from Asia to the US, there the further kitting will be done and then the picking/packing/fulfilment process starts for intercontinental shipping. Corona didn't help and if you want to save some money by combining some titles, then the last one to be finished is your bottleneck. However if Belgium is in their DDP countries list, which I believe it is (check their site), there really should not be any additional hidden costs.
Glad I waited a tick to grab To the Moon! Both for <$70 USD? Simple choice ...take my monies.
