All that talk about Darksiders being like Zelda for me to pick up the first two when they were on sale. That wasn’t the case (at least in my estimation) and I lost interest quickly. Don’t think I’ll be trying another one.
It’s worth pointing out that it says “If there are many requests (we) will work hard so that you can play them in other ‘environments’ (Obviously meaning platforms).” The key word being “requests,” not sales.
The Google translation is obviously funky, and the answer appears to be written from the point of view of a chocobo, making it more difficult for machine translation, but Google did get “requests” correct.
@Spiders Yes, that is nice. Although it can be challenging to run really old games meant to run on the operating systems of their day. But with a lot of effort one can make it work.
No Nintendo games? Meh. No physical games? Double meh. To me digital games have very little value. On the positive side, Steam prices (especially during sales) reflect this reality.
@JayJ Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t ever pay that kind of money even if I had it, but this is a rare revision of the cartridge. It means nothing to me, but to some people it’s a big deal I guess. I don’t have a problem with that. They aren’t hurting anyone by wasting their money, or keeping this sealed.
@xxx128 I understand the feelings toward scalping, but this is 1 of millions of Zelda cartridges out there that some people feel is worth more because it has a special designation on it, and also because it’s sealed. There are plenty of Zelda cartridges for those who want one to play.
I don’t get all the animosity. It’s not like this is the only Zelda cart and someone keeping it sealed is preventing people from playing it. There’s not even anything special about the version of the software that needs to be preserved. If someone wants to spend a lot of money and display it good for them.
I’m looking forward to this one, but probably going to wait for a $40 sale. I’m not desperate to play it, and it won’t be going out of print any time soon. Paper Mario and Pikmin just hit $30, so it may not take too long.
I preordered a copy at full price, but on release date I’ll be at Walmart seeing if I can get a copy for $50. Either way I’ll be playing it right away. Something that is only a certainty with Zelda and Metroid games.
I’m glad for everyone who loves this game to get a sequel, but this type of game just isn’t for me. Played the first one for long enough to realize that and then sold my copy.
I have a feeling this one will have a lower print run than the other two did now that the trilogy is coming. The other two had about 11,000 orders each between standard and collectors editions (not sure if that includes Best Buy’s copies or not).
Really looking forward to this. Already planning a game with my girls in which you are a hamster trying to escape your cage. They’re very excited about it and I’m hoping doing one together will inspire them to do more on their own. I don’t expect them to be game designers, but I want them to be more than computer “users” and have some understanding of what’s going on under the hood.
I explored game programming back in the 90s and my friends and I even formed a company that became a licensed developer for the Jaguar. But I went in a completely different direction after that dissolved
@UmbreonsPapa Was going to say exactly that, a Zelda series should never be “for adults.” Pixar movies are generally a good example of entertainment that appeals to all age groups. There is no reason a Zelda show can’t be family friendly and great.
I think ultimately Nintendo wants these games on Switch to prep people for the release of 4. Honestly 4-5 people working for a year doesn’t sound like a bad investment.
I’ve been a fan of R-Type since my brother picked it up for the Sega Master System, but the demo for Final 2 was just downright boring. I may give it another chance if it gets a major sale.
Why the arbitrary 2 players per system or 1 player per system? There go my plans of playing remotely with my sister and also having my 2 kids play locally.
I bought one late in 2019. It was the cost of a game, $60, and I got Pikmin 3 and 3D World for $10 each. But the main reason I got it was for Windwaker. I’m kind of surprised that hasn’t made it over to Switch yet, but fully expect it to.
I’m almost finished with Xenoblade definitive right now, and have been considering grabbing XCX. I would rather get that for Switch though...
I was in Akihabara all the time when I was in high school. This placed must’ve opened up later, as I don’t remember the name. Then again I don’t remember any shop names other than Sofmap. I’ll never get their theme song out of my head, LOL.
@kkslider5552000 I don’t know, they do supposedly have a relationship with Konami, since they have plans to release the Castlevania Collection for Switch. I can’t imagine it would be too difficult to get Konami to go along with reprints of some of their GB games. Maybe that’s what’s holding up the collection?
Sounds great, but I’m not hurting for games so I’ll probably wait. Who knows, maybe I’ll get it for half price on sale and use that extra 50 cents for... for...Hmm.
@VoidofLight I’m right there with you, played the original when it was brand new, and Zelda has always been my absolute favorite series since that time. But I guess I’m not a real fan because BOTW is my favorite
If the original had come out just a bit earlier I probably would’ve played it, as I was in the arcade all the time after school (despite rules restricting us from being seen in arcades in our school uniforms). But there were no arcades near my dorm after it came out. I would see it sometimes when I visited Tokyo, but never took the time to try it. And the PlayStation version was so expensive with its special controller from what I remember.
But I’ve ordered this one, and just waiting for it to arrive. It’s been a long time coming!
@King-K-Rool Ah, my mistake. I was watching that “Playing With Power” documentary and heard him say “customers.” Just assumed he said that all the time.

Re: Review: Baldo: The Guardian Owls - Exquisite Ghibli-Esque Art Can't Hide Tortuous Gameplay
Eh, the art style looks way too crude to be compared to Studio Ghibli.
Re: Rumour: Nintendo Will Expand Its Switch Online Service With Game Boy And Game Boy Color Titles
TG-16 please! And some PC Engine classics for good measure.
Re: Kunio-kun 35th Anniversary Countdown Website Reveals Brand New Project
Hmm, a period game. Wasn’t there a jidai geki game in the series prior as well? Should be interesting to see how they update it.

Just give me Tempest 2000 already!
Re: Metal Gear Creator Hideo Kojima Is "Afraid" Of A Future Without Physical Media
If physical media ever dies off I will likely just stop buying games. I have some digital titles, and I just don’t play them for whatever reason.
Re: Poll: Zelda: Skyward Sword HD's Biggest Question - How Do You Pronounce Fi?
Well, this is a Japanese game, so it’s pretty easy to get the answer. According to Nintendo’s website it’s ファイ, so there you have it. “Fai”

Re: Space Invaders Invincible Collection Is Finally Getting A Western Digital Release
Wow, and I thought the physical release was overpriced! At least that version has resale value that will likely go up quite a bit over time.
Re: Poll: Can You Still Find Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. And Super Mario 3D All-Stars?
I’d pay $20 for a Game and Watch, but short of that I’ll pass.
