Re: Nintendo Allegedly Cancelled Localisation Of Mother 3 Due To Its Controversial Aspects

ItsFuzzyPickles

Would a Mother 3 release be that controversial though? Gamers who know about it, including the websites that cover it, lavish it with praise regarding the gameplay, story, and dialogue. If the concern is that Nintendo will receive negative press in regards to Mother 3, keep in mind that they are slowly shaking their "kids-only" image over the decades, especially since this one while publishing Bayonetta 2 of all things, an M-rated game that they outright endorsed Kamiya to go all out on with regards to adult contents. A minority of disingenuous far-left political activists, rightfully called SJWs, who have proven that they don't buy contents that panders to their viewpoints should not have been enough to prevent a localization that was on its way until XXX "controversial" moment happened.

For people saying that politically correct culture is not a thing, please look at a window. Just from popular culture alone, the far left,

Damaged the Star Wars brand, one of the world's biggest IP

Accelerated the impending death of the American comic industry by making unwelcomed changes to heroes like Hulk, Thor and Ice Man

Tarnished the Ghostbuster franchise with an all-female cast that panders to the west of "progressive", which is actually regressive, culture

Stopped a foreign Chinese woman from publishing a young adult novel, thus silencing her free speech even though she came from a country that not only does not respect the concept but is literally implementing a social credit system where the government will track every movement a person makes within the country

Kowtowing to the SJWs was not a wise move on Nintendo's part. The argument that "everyone who wanted to play Mother 3 would have done so by now" does not take into account that people are willing to replay and support the games they loved playing and Earthbound fans are among the most dedicated fan base in gaming. That's like saying if people were interested in Mother 1 and 2, they would have played it before their Virtual Console releases but that did not stop them from being successful. The last thing we need is a return of mass censorship on Nintendo's consoles.

The outrage culture that the SJWs set up needs to die as we head into the new decade. If that means that the journalism industry collapses along with its tumorous leech on Western culture, so be it.

Re: Pokémon: Let's Go Sells 3 Million Copies In First Week, Becomes Fastest-Selling Game On Switch

ItsFuzzyPickles

@Medic_alert @Heavyarms55 @johnvboy

I brought Black and White up because these games in a total of three days nearly beat the HD remake of the most popular generation in one country. That generation was responsible for doing away with the third version of the main game Pokémon fans came to expect, making it one of the more consequential games in the franchise’s history.

Not to mention that Pokémon Go! was likely The Pokémon Company’s biggest success since the first generation games and they have said themselves that they are looking to see where to take the franchise for the next twenty years with Let’s Go! If they meet or exceed sales expectations, it will significantly influence future generations of mainline Pokémon games seeing as they want this game to bring Pokémon Go! players to the Switch. If it doesn’t, they will likely reevaluate their approach towards bringing a mostly mobile gaming audience to their console efforts. This game might be a remake, but it will have influence as if it were a mainline entry.

To get an idea how well it’s doing in comparison to a main entry, finding data on worldwide sales on the first three days for X and Y would be a good start. From there, it would be wise to keep track of weekly Japanese and quarterly worldwide sales for Let’s Go! to see how well it’s holding up in comparison to other installments. Word of mouth will determine the drop-off rate for this game.

Re: Pokémon: Let's Go Sells 3 Million Copies In First Week, Becomes Fastest-Selling Game On Switch

ItsFuzzyPickles

According to Game Data Library, Pokémon Black and White sold over 2.6 million copies in Japan alone in its first week. Pokémon’s first venture into HD, by all means a significant change for the franchise, can barely muster above 650K, outdone by Splatoon 2, whom’s predecessor started on Nintendo’s worst selling home consoles. Only Pokémon Emerald sold worse and it was literally a third-version of the game, which always sell worse in comparison to the main games and remakes.

If this was practically any other franchise, people would hail these sales numbers as a massive achievement. However, this is Pokémon and who knows if three million worldwide is meeting The Pokémon Company’s expectations. It would be wise to compare worldwide sales of other mainline Pokémon game with Let’s Go! before bringing out the party hat and judging the game’s detractors for “not knowing a good thing when it comes to you”.

Re: Mega Man 11 Confirmed For Switch In 2018

ItsFuzzyPickles

It's about time. 2018 is going to be a amazing year for gaming.

@Agramonte This. I've said it before but the Switch needs it's own library of games to thrive in the gaming world, not the same as its competitors because otherwise, why not just buy a PS4/XB1/PC? An unique library of great game, even if they are smaller, will be what makes the Switch stand out when we asset its legacy a generation from now.

Re: Super Mario Odyssey Has an 'Ages 12 and Up' CERO B Rating in Japan

ItsFuzzyPickles

No way!

We're actually getting something that's beyond E rating. I didn't think too much of it with the E10+ ESRB rating but now there's something up and I want to know what it is.

I should note Mother 2's Japanese release had Ness naked in a scene and yet got a CERO A in the WiiU and New 3DS re-releases. It couldn't be Mario's nipples.

Re: Feature: The (Sadly Fictional) Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Switch Fighter Ballot - Results!

ItsFuzzyPickles

I am glad to see that Bomberman made the Top 10. Here is to hoping that he makes it into the next Smash game. I would buy it if he gets in.

@greengecko007 The difference in this case is that Sony and Microsoft characters are nearly impossible to add in Smash for legal reasons since Sony and Microsoft are in competition with Nintendo. Third-party characters can appear on any platform. As long as a character appears on a Nintendo platform once, they can be in Smash (providing both parties allow this to happen).

@caryslan Lucina, Robin and Corrin were not included due to being popular or fan demanded characters. Only Roy was included due to popular demand as DLC.

Outside of Mega Man, DLC veterans and Bayonetta, I doubt any SSB4 characters were added because of the fans.

Re: Dragon Ball FighterZ Could Come To Switch If The Demand Is There, Says Producer

ItsFuzzyPickles

@AugustusOxy This. Plus the Switch is coming off the Wii U, which did terrible so publishers are cautious about making games for the Switch from the start to see if the system is doing well.

With the Switch being a resounding success story (at least so far), I expect better third-party support in the future. I also think that Dragon Ball Fighters Z will be one of the titles that comes to the Switch, especially with Xenoverse 2 coming and Arc System Works supporting the Switch.

Re: The Industry Is Stronger When Nintendo Is Strong, Says Sony's Jim Ryan

ItsFuzzyPickles

@banacheck What happened was that Monster Hunter Tri switched to the Wii because Capcom said that the development cost of making a game on PlayStation 3 was too high. Then it became a success and we saw years of exclusive Monster Hunter. Up until now of course.

I still think that we are going to see an internationally-released new Monster Hunter game on Switch eventually. Monster Hunter World is more suited towards Western tastes anyway.

Re: Poll: Are You Excited About Nintendo at E3 2017?

ItsFuzzyPickles

The notion that we need to prepare ourselves for disappointment over an E3 event is concerning. The purpose of E3 is to excite people and to get people interested in their new console. Yet we are told to not expect any surprises which has been the case every year (even bad E3s).

Even under a thirty minute presentation that only covers 2017 titles, there's no reason not to expect one or two nice surprises that excites gamers and perhaps other miscellaneous details. Remember at E3 2010, we got Kirby's Epic Yarn and Donkey Kong Country Return which were highly acclaimed and came out in the same year.

Remember that this E3 will be critical to Switch's future success. If Nintendo cannot deliver a good E3 when they so need it, why should third-parties on the fence come on over and support Nintendo with new exclusives (or better ports than other systems)?

The moment E3 becomes a time to expect disappointment is when it is time to give up on Nintendo. This is something that Nintendo does not need.

Re: Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 is Announced, But is Skipping Nintendo Switch and 3DS

ItsFuzzyPickles

We'll see if Capcom announces a port later but if this is not the case, how could Capcom justify not releasing a Mega Man game (or Disney Afternoon Collection) on their biggest target audience? Especially considering that 8, 9, and 10 have not been on Nintendo's platform for over a decade. I get the ominous feeling that this is due to anticipating weak sales on Ultra Street Fighter II but Capcom should not be rewarded for a lazy, expensive port.

Re: Nintendo Reveals More Details About its Paid Online Service

ItsFuzzyPickles

@DarkKirby I could not have said it better.

Honestly, this deal is not worth it. We became accustomed to free online from Nintendo which was why many of us put up with the substandard online system. Now Nintendo is asking us to pay $20 a year knowing full well that Sony and Microsoft have a superior online service and no signs of improvements from last generation.

Even as a prospective Switch buyer, why should I spend $20 a year that can go towards more important things (or entertainment that I will get more mileage of) when there is no noticeable improvement from the free offerings we got from Nintendo (and the much superior offerings from PC gaming)? How can fans praise Nintendo for charging money for no improvements? It is simply the result of brand loyalty, which leads to unwise investments and encourages bad business practices like this to continue.

As for the classic gaming catalog, even if it is an improvement over the one game a month subscription, nothing about it makes it worth diving in $20 a year just for that. Nintendo's Wii U Virtual Console was underwhelming because it missed out on so many games that the Wii Virtual Console had and chances are the Switch Virtual Console (or the classic giveaway system) may even be more disappointing because we have no indication that this won't simply be the nth release of pretty much all of their games (I will give the Wii U credit on this in that it has GBA and DS games albeit without local multi-player). Nintendo should really take into account people who actively supported the Virtual Console service and actually start providing new re-releases. If we were to see stuff like GameCube, Saturn, Dreamcast and lots of games not already out, I would reconsider. Right now, I am highly doubtful on this.

Nintendo is throwing away their sole trump card with online. This may kill the online scene once Switch buyers not blinded by loyalty find that Nintendo has done nothing to justify the introduction of price hikes.

Re: E3 is Coming, Which Means Anonymous Super Smash Bros. Switch 'Screenshots'

ItsFuzzyPickles

Nintendo Life needs to scale down on commenting on rumors, especially ones that are fake like these.

As for a Smash 3DS & Wii U port... honestly I'm fatigued from Smash. Assuming a port does happen, I seriously doubt any newcomer I want will get in and I am not buying a game just to play with contents I can get on the 3DS game and characters I've already played with in Smash Wii U. I also do not see myself buying another Smash game for a long time, possibly ever.

Re: FIFA 18 is Back to Being 'EA Sports FIFA' for Nintendo Switch

ItsFuzzyPickles

I hope that FIFA ends up selling. We need to realize that even though we may not like it, EA's presence on a console will determine if it could succeed or not. Every time EA has chosen to not support a console (or dropped it early on), the system has failed. See Dreamcast, Vita, and Wii U.

If we lose EA, we will eventually lose all western third-party support that is not niche. It is critical for any Nintendo fan interested in soccer to support this game.

Re: Dolphin Emulator Now Allows Wii Shop Access and Purchases

ItsFuzzyPickles

@roadrunner343 That does not answer my question and yes, it does matter. If even one WiiWare game on the Wii Shop has not been preserved yet, it is high time for someone who has the capability to download the game and preserve it so that it can still be played once the option to buy "Game X" is finally gone.

Re: Nikkei Reports a Nintendo Switch Price of 25,000 Yen, Prompting $250 Speculation

ItsFuzzyPickles

@Incarta The Wii U was Nintendo's most expensive console and it failed both critically and commercially. It is considering Nintendo's worst console effort and the second worst Nintendo system outside of Virtual Boy. All previous consoles aside from the Wii U and Virtual Boy not only sold much better, but are far more critically acclaimed. Yet they all were priced less than the Wii U.

The most important factor in whenever or not a console is good are the games. The Switch needs an unique library to succeed, not multiplatform games that can already be bought on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
