Just when you thought that Nintendo was finished with the 3DS, as units of the Nintendo Switch fly off shelves, here comes Mario Party: The Top 100 to confirm Nintendo's ongoing commitment to its veteran handheld line.
If you've played a Mario Party game in the past, you will likely have a good idea of what to expect here. The clue is in the title of course, but this game will feature 100 minigames from across the IP's history; examples include Bumper Balls, Hotel Goomba and Three Throw.
To celebrate this impending launch on 10th November, Nintendo has released a lovely new trailer that you can view above.
Do you plan to pick up The Top 100 next week? As always, let us know your thoughts with a comment below.

Apart from Pokémon, 3ds is not seeing use from me.
This so needs to be on the Switch. Big screen party game for Christmas
Looking forward to getting this next week! Oh and the game comes out in the 30th of January in the UK.
Wait, so it DOES come out in Europe November 10th? Or ...what? Was it delayed or not? I'm confused now ...
I’m not the biggest Mario Party fan but this game looks pretty fun. It might be better if this came to the Switch but I still play the 3DS a lot though.
The idea of Mario Party on handheld as opposed to console is baffling to me considering the whole point is local multiplayer. Weird, weird decision.
When is this out in UK? Nintendo UK website says January 2018, here says next week, Amazon US say preorder...
Please help! (P.S. I live in the UK)
Edit: Thanks to @memoryman3 don't worry anymore
@tsdenizen
What I find baffling is they continue to develop handheld Mario Party titles with no online play, despite a frequent demand for it.
I can't wait until they actually put these made for multiplayer games on the home console that can easily be played with family and friends.
I saw Star Rush Mode (Moving together after Rolling a Dice)
Where is Donkey Kong? He has been in more Mario Partys than Rosalina.
I had it preordered... But it wouldn't be responsible to buy so many games in one month... I decided this one could wait.
It’s such a shame. I would have loved to play this in multiplayer on the Switch, but I’ll have to pass, since I don’t just have a bunch of 3DS systems laying around to host a multiplayer session, and solo Mario Party is just about the saddest thing a human being can do.
@thesilverbrick it's funny that you say that because this game seems to have more focus on the single player experience, with it's main mode advertised being the minigame island, a single player mode.
@Meowpheel Which, if you ask me, is a huge mistake. Mario Party was created to be a multiplayer experience (hence the “Party” moniker). Dumbing it down in an attempt to make it a solo experience shows Nintendo completely misunderstands why the series became so popular in the first place. It’s such a shame they finally get around to commemorating the ten installments of a venerated couch multiplayer party game and they do it on a handheld and make it primarily for a single player, since multiplayer requires multiple consoles. A massive missed opportunity.
Seems like a waste this isn’t on Switch. Would have bought.
Wish this were on Switch. Fighting to stop myself from buying it though...
Nintendo - please stop giving me reasons to repurchase a 2DS!
So does this have traditional boards or nah?
Nah, Mario Party is best on a console with a bunch of friends. I'll try this game in download play mode when my friend buys it but that's it. Bring Mario Party to Switch.
Now if only they released a remaster of the N64 classics.( never played the original, only 2 and 3 , 2 being my fav of the entire series and still play it regularly)
This looks good, and I will pick it up because the idea is fantastic. But after this I expect a Mario Party on the Switch!
I want Nintendoland on Switch !!!
Hopefully will see a Mario Party game for the Switch.
By Top 100, do they mean from all ten main games or does it also include the spin-off games?
@RupeeClock Totally agree! Frustrating. I don't know anybody else with a 3DS, but this game looks fun. Would be great to connect with others online.
Never played a Mario Party, but the top 100 games in 3d looks worth getting, I will await the review. Of course who's top 100 is it? 😊
I definitely plan on buying this even though I haven't brought a Mario Party game since the N64 days. Will see what reviews say first though.
Can we all agree it is time for Nintendo to stop making handheld Mario Party games?
Mario Party Advance was great because of the focus on singleplayer, but next handheld installments were designed to be enjoyed in multiplayer, and I don't know about you, but I am the only person I know that owns 3DS, none of my friends have it, so I have nobody else to play it with. This is an easy skip, but count me in if it comes for Switch.
Sucks that Toad and DK are not playable characters.
@MatoFilipovic Island Tour wasn't bad. Star Rush was pretty good.
Probably my last ever pickup on my New 3DS XDL. That's right, no USUM for me.
Also, I can't seem to find anywhere to preorder it (UK)? The NUK site states this will be released in Jan 2018, not Nov 10th.
WALUIGI!
Looks cool, but there needs to be online. MP is a multi series. Granted, it can be played solo, but that's less fun, most of the time.
Should have been on the Switch. Major missed opportunity.
No 3D as well (all current and future Nintendo published 3DS games seem to be ignoring 3D completely, including the new Kirby game and upcoming New Style Boutique 3). I think I'll pass.
I'm finding the lack of 3D to be a contemptible practice, and it's pretty much the only reason why any new games are worth having on the system. If they're going to make 2D-only games, then I'd much rather have them on Switch instead, no matter how lo-fi the graphics may be.
since im a 3ds only player this is a must buy...looks fun and will def pick this up.
@memoryman3 It actually comes out of the fifth of January, twenty-five days earlier!
