@SLIGEACH_EIRE As much as I am not a fan of SLIGEACH's negativity in the NL comments, he has a point this time around. The numbers are not that great.

For one thing, a good statistics analyst will always ensure that the data they have is over a consistent period (2 days, 3 days etc). This data is all over the place and is in no way reliable.

However what is impressive is that Nintendo can re-release hardware and it sells over 250,000 in Japan alone in four days. That itself shows the ability of Nintendo's IP.

More stock would have been appreciated

If that £200 marker includes the docking station, tablet and the Joy Cons at the very least, all Nintendo would need is a killer line-up and it could be an incredibly fierce competitor.

However I am holding off belief because it seems a little too low. As right now it looks to be too good of a deal. Something is wrong.

This for me has gone from a "Day 1" purchase to a "I NEED THIS NOW!!!"

Seriously Game Freak, you have really outdone yourselves this time. Well done Nintendo. This will be the Holiday Seller

EDIT: I love the choice of the final evolutions being like Job Classes in Final Fantasy (The Archer, The Brawler and The Bard)

You also have to remember people repost the video on YouTube. It all adds up in the end.

I honestly think Nintendo may be onto a winner with the Switch

@jwfurness For me it is more that over the years there are less and less games that "Wow" me on Playstation. Sure they are pretty but just no passion. But Nintendo...well. Look at Splatoon for one. In just 3 of existence it is now a key title to the Switch. That's a Wow

@jwfurness I agree. If the Switch becomes a versatile platform and its successors are, I will be giving up the PS and Xbox lines permanently.

This happens every time a console is revealed. The PS4 and XBOne also enjoyed this and look how they turned out.

It's just Investors expectations being diminished. Nothing more, nothing less

@Inkling-Inc Actually they don't. I am good friends with higher ups with GAME and they tell me it is just business. They love the 3DS and the Wii U. But sadly the Wii U didn't sell well enough to invest a large amount of space on their floor.

It's just business at the end of the day.

Guys can I explain how the industry works? You could know months in advance if a reveal is meant to be delayed. At my 9-to-5 job, we are already discussing delaying a software release that is targeted next year. They could have known for months it was not running correctly and therefore decide to delay it just to put a fix in.

Well I can happily say that my biting my tongue is over. Just as well as I could not hold the reveal date any longer

The annoying part of all this is I can't really give my say on when the next bit of news comes out.

The reason is I actually do know when the next news is going to happen.

Being a game developer and supporter of developers gets me some pretty good information and trying fully-developed games before release. Obviously I do stuff in return for this great perk.

So it pretty much cuts out a good chunk of the discussions I can take part in out of fear of accidentally spilling the beans and getting my sources in trouble. Fortunately so far there have been reasons why they wouldn't reveal yet (PSVR, 3DS/Wii U releases etc) to allow me to bite my tongue and claim "well logic says that". I have told my closest friends though as I trust them to keep the secret.

But as we get nearer to the end of the year, I have to start counting down the days until they start the ball rolling. Trust me, ignorance is bliss.

Always hate to be a downer but things are not looking good for a Wii U release. NX is more likely.

It probably didn't help during the time of release it was trendy to slam Nintendo. Pretty much every game they released got a point or two taken down. Before then it was the Amiibo shortage. Those were dark times...

Now the trend is to complain about NX news. I wonder what the next trend will be after that?

Honestly, I find more of Nintendo's and its third party titles memorable despite some of the biggest and impressive games being on Xbox or Playstation. I have about 30 or 40 Playstation titles whereas I have over 250 Nintendo titles.

No matter what people say about Nintendo, it is clear they are doing something right

I'm honestly okay with the Selects branding. I only had an issue when there were other ways to get a physical release on a Nintendo console. But in Steamworld and FR Neo's case, this is the only way to Europe.

For that, I'm actually okay with their covers.

EDIT: Only 12 games. 12 games I have "OMG" about. That actually makes me feel sad as there are tons on the Wii U. Yup, that is me convinced about my future for gaming. Nintendo or bust

@nab1 It's not that I hate Playstation or Microsoft. PlayStation always has been my secondary console. But over the years I found myself getting less and less games for it. And now, I am only hyped for Ni No Kuni 2, Gravity Rush 2, Kingdom Hearts 3 and Persona 5. When the Playstation 5 comes along, it will be bought at the end of its lifecycle.

So if I leave gaming, it will not be out of "eugh, now I'm stuck with PS and XB" but more "I think this is a good time to stop". Besides, at the end of next year I will have at least 400+ games in my collection. That will last a lifetime

Well it's all to play for at the end. The way I see it is as long as their numbers are consistent and Nintendo themselves can turn a profit they'll keep making consoles and handhelds.

But I will say the moment Nintendo stops doing platforms that might be the point I give up buying modern games. It would be more of a retirement than a quit as I would rather leave things on a high note

@YoshiParty Unfortunately yeh this is going to be a bit of a forgotten game. It will be in the bargain bin for sure. Who knows, it might be good!

@sunrisensoul I would say that for the individual franchises. But as a collective yeh. But I would call Persona its own franchise regardless of being part of the Megaten franchise.
