Re: Rumour: Fire Emblem Fates Could Be Getting A Nintendo Switch Port

Grandpa_Pixel

Well there are two ways to look at this. "Oh no another port" or "They're buying time before they release a new game."

Come on guys, it has only been 2 years since Japan got its release (less than that actually). There is no way they would have developed a game in that time. It is going to be a port.

But then XC 2 is on the way. I would love to be wrong. And what if we have a port and a new game? That would blow my tiny little mind.

Re: Nintendo Switch Lacks Pack-In Title Because It's $299, Says Reggie Fils-Aime

Grandpa_Pixel

Being a bit honest, I feel like games like Arms will be the ones that become the viral hit. The sort that make hardcore genres approachable for casuals.

At the event I took my boyfriend along who isn't much of a gamer as I am. Within a couple of minutes we were already being very competitive

1-2-Switch is really suited for people who like to throw a party or have a good time

Re: Nintendo UK Has Begun Contacting Switch Hands-On Event Winners

Grandpa_Pixel

I got my ticket back in November before Pokemon got released. In fact I was informed at the Midnight Launch party I ran. But it is nice to have it made official after all this time

I have also seen a good chunk of the list of games we will be getting to try. Even just the first few guarantee there is something for everyone. Not allowed to say how many or what games. And I wouldn't anyway. Some of the games are so awesome they deserve to be revealed properly. All I have to say is you shouldn't be disappointed. If even half of them are there at launch it will be a step up from the Wii U.

I am going on the Saturday myself in the morning. The hype is real

Re: Rumour: Yooka-Laylee Might Be Released in April

Grandpa_Pixel

@Cantisque I backed a fair bit for swag because I had faith in a Wii U title. Why would I want swag for a game I would not be able to play? (assuming the Switch doesn't happen)

And definitely no buyer's remorse here. I have been longing for a Banjo game. Just also got to think £400+ is a lot of money to lose if they don't port it to the Switch. I'm going to wait and see what happens. If they announce the Switch and confirm its release then I will be happy again

Right now I am frustrated because I am in a state of "£400 well spent" and "£400 lost". I have to be both happy and annoyed until they either release it for the Switch or cancel that too.

Also, I spent over £300 on Shantae and £100 on Conker's Bad Fur Day. I rarely get buyer's remorse in the hundreds.

@gcunit After going offline and swearing a lot. As in a lot...

Yeh you definitely a have a point there. But then I posted that before they made their cancellation notice. Now I have to see if Playtonic will refund my £400+ back as I can't take a risk of them "potentially" releasing on the Switch :/

Re: Rumour: Yooka-Laylee Might Be Releasing in April

Grandpa_Pixel

Guys relax! Playtonic already said that the vast majority of their backers were with Wii U owners. That would mean if anything the most likely platform to get a physical release is the Wii U. I think it was 70% or something of the console backers were Wii U owners. Don't quote me on that percentage though.

Also, the Wii U is the one Playtonic themselves are developing. Someone is is porting them to the PS4 and Xbox. That means they would be confirmed at a different time to the Wii U's

I think the perk of our remaining two Toys-To-Life is that Lego Dimensions is just expansion packs and treats it like such. Meaning that we don't need to buy the game all over again. We just update and away we go.

And for Amiibo, they have never really been Toys-To-Life. Sure they were promoted as such but let's be honest, they turned into Collector's Items and something to have on a shelf right? And also they are the best quality Toys-To-Life on the market

Re: Pokémon Sun and Moon Have Delivered the Biggest Ever Nintendo Game Launch in Europe

Grandpa_Pixel

I should point out on tuesday when it launched I was running the midnight launch for Basingstoke. We had at least 20-30 people come in.

On a Tuesday night. Late. In the evening. When our public transport is terrible.

That enough should state how much of a big deal this news is. Basingstoke is now looking to have a Switch frontline launch with me and my group at the frontlines running the show

Re: Review: Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS (3DS)

Grandpa_Pixel

Hey guys before you start slamming the online limitation could I point out I run a Streetpass gaming group and a good chunk of those getting the game are excited about sharing their levels through the Streetpass feature?

There is a market out there still for local sharing. No idea why the online wasn't on the 3DS but Nintendo has their reasons. Now if the Mario Maker version on the Switch could have both that would be great.

Re: Guide: The Best Nintendo Cyber Monday Deals - US & UK

Grandpa_Pixel

What baffles me is why there are no links to the stuff at Toys R Us? I was around town on saturday desperately trying to find some sort of deal. Seriously, my black friday was dreadful. I gave up and went off to get a McFlurry. I decided to pop into Toys R Us for Lego and I left with about 8 items which were all on offer, all Nintendo and some of them were at least 50% off. Some of them were games. And one of them was Guitar Hero for £14.99

Re: GAME Confirms Midnight Openings and Events for Pokémon Sun and Moon

Grandpa_Pixel

@DanteSolablood Oh Fareham! Hah yeh I forgot about that one. Still you have Portsmouth nearby and with that Streetpass Portsmouth's group. Those guys are pretty friendly people. Rich came to our event last saturday. It was a Waluigi event. Possibly the most insane thing we have ever done. Waluigi weirdness everywhere...

SP Portsmouth are worth checking out if you are willing to go there for KFC

Re: GAME Confirms Midnight Openings and Events for Pokémon Sun and Moon

I'm looking forward to it. I am running the Basingstoke one and have started packing and preparing. I plan to have Pokken, Pokemon Snap, Stadium 1 and 2 up for people to play. Going to go and buy some food and drink as well. Having a free raffle to win an Eeveelution plushie of their choice. A gym leader who if you win you get a custom Gym leader badge. And an Amiibo music box that plays music depending on the Amiibo placed on top (one of them has the original Pokemon anime theme as I am sooo cool )

We at Streetpass Basingstoke don't mess around when it comes to throwing great events
