@NewAdvent I took part in it and there was a general agreement we would honor Remembrance Sunday as well. (We all discussed this in the Discord to make sure we didn't cause trouble)
After all, it was also the 100th anniversary since Poland got its independence!
It was a day for celebrating a lot. I'm just glad the Golden Sun fandom was a good egg on the day
@RupeeClock I sat down and realized whatever Limited Run Games did to make that trophy happen, you could not do it on a better budget yourself. So I'm definitely going to pick this up. It's going to be a great piece on my shelf!
As for Yooka Laylee, I got my Collector's Edition as not only was it nice but it wrapped up a bad saga with Playtonic.
Originally I pledged over £400 for that N64 cartridge and Wii U physical. Then when there was no hope for a physical Switch version I got all my money refunded (it went towards the Monster Hunter amiibo and a nice break for me and my partner)
When they announced this edition I was absolutely thrilled as it meant not only did I save money but I finally get what I originally wanted all along. Even if it took years.
And I bought the SMRPG one because the action figures look kickass. As for Dust? Really wanted that game for SO LONG!
I've bought three of their special editions and looking to buy this one. I bought the Saturday Morning RPG, Dust and Yooka Laylee one. Now granted a lot of the special editions out there are...less desirable. But every so often then make one that makes me go "well that's neat, I'll buy it!". I almost did that with Night Trap but the game isn't my thing.
I also know when Cosmic Star Heroine comes along I will be buying all the bells and whistles like that because I love that game. It's Sci-Fi Chrono Trigger.
Whenever it comes to a CE however I always sit down, work out the individual costs for the pieces and come to a conclusion. Sometimes I say yes and others I say "not worth it sadly". That way I feel happy knowing my money is well spent.
But then this is the point. I am buying them because they interest me and the Collector's Editions actually feel worth my money and special. And to me, I am happy paying that sort of money on it.
Yes, they may be expensive. Yes, I might be getting ripped off. But what company doesn't rip off their customers? All companies buy cheap materials to sell for a higher price. That's how business works.
To be fair, we have that unannounced Monster Hunter stage that was shown off. And considering Rathalos appears as an Assist too, it makes no sense to have a stage just to fight it. That would be a waste.
So it is likely a Monster Hunter stage is happening. So that would make the count 104. So finding another 4 stages considering it's Sakurai is actually very plausible.
That's a sale gone for me sadly. I really am all for game preservation and so for me, any title that is half-cart, half-download is a complete no go for me.
The only time I accepted it was for Starlink and that's to get the nice Arwing figure. And even then I had to justify it.
I appreciate people preferring digital / physical. But no-one wanted this unnatural middle ground of both. If a title can't be 100% physical, it shouldn't be physical at all.
Hang on one minute. You give Crash Bandicoot a 7/10 and yet you'll give Yooka Laylee an 8/10?
Don't you think those scores should be the other way around? Sorry but Yooka Laylee may have fixed up the issues of its game, but Crash Bandicoot and its sequels was still miles better than Yooka's offerings.
I'm glad Crash is moving forward. I was worried it would be eclipsed on the Switch by other amazing titles. Now it won't need to battle with any game. Everybody wins!
@Reignmaker Actually the frame rate is nice and the handheld display is crisp!
But there are load times for areas (ranging from quick to Lego City Uncover) and I did get the rare split-second freeze. But so far there is nothing that makes me go "eugh this was horrible". Battles require loading the first time but after they don't need loading commonly. I would assume the game sacrifices loading times in favor of a nice running game. Which for the most part pays off well!
Why? Because aside these two things it runs pretty well, looks pretty well. And there didn't seem to be anything that couldn't be solved with patching.
Let's just say in the grand scale of games like WWE 2K18 and RiME (pre-patching) in existance, this one definitely does not have me returning it to the store demanding my money back
@ThanosReXXX I have been considering it highly. The game looks great artistically and I can only imagine how amazing the comics must be even more beautiful.
@Kiz3000 365Games. However I can't vouch if they are doing it for all customers. I might have been the exception to the rule. I just went there as I had Player Points a plenty to use. Lucky me eh? xD
@Kiz3000 For some reason the retailer shipped it out early. I was stunned myself as usually they only despatch it a few days ahead and I get it on release day. 10 days before is madness.
I'm going to try and get the collector's edition but I won't be phazed if I don't. I must say I am very grateful they have not limited the standard release for this platform.
So far the Switch's Limited Run series has been very good. Can't wait to see Slime-San and Thimbleweed get the releases they deserve
Despite looking similar, the games actually have two different engines behind it. FBW uses the Snowdrop engine which is also what Mario+Rabbids uses. Whereas the SoT uses a different engine.
By Ubisoft electing not to port it, it is a safe bet to assume the amount of work to port it to the Switch would be too difficult from an engine basis. Whereas FBW could because the Snowdrop engine was already working with Mario+Rabbids
It's also a good reason why we are getting Starlink. That too is made in Snowdrop.
I came to this conclusion of an early-November release through research on Game Freak and their activities. They typically release October/November (sometimes early year) and 1 to 2 years.
Now in reflection to Switch, that would indicate it is either holiday 2018 or they will make it a next year title.
But considering during E3 they made mention of it already being in development, my bets are on this year.
@FragRed I think it is more than that. It's tailored for not just Western Audiences but adults as well. Reducing the target audience (well, those who respect the age ratings). Whereas Labo is catered for pretty much anyone who likes to be creative and kids. Japan especially.
@dunnyone I really disagree. I have managed to save so much money from going physical for my Switch collection. More often than not cutting the price by at least £5-£10. For me Physical is now the way to go for Switch
@Shellcore Actually I can vouch for this. I pre-ordered the game successfully on the store. They took down the store listing but the pre-order still remains
I really hope this comes on physical release but if it doesn't then I will pick it up digitally in a year's time. With all the great games out there I can wait a little longer
Hotline Miami, Spelunky and Hyper Light Drifter come to mind. I would say Rivals of Aether but it is far too early considering they are now looking into a port
A 7/10 is still a good score. Sign me up for Kirby on Friday. And especially good as a month filler but not so time consuming. Means I can put in more time for Radiant Historia when I'm done!
Being a Game Maker user, this holds many opportunities. But I think I would rather get my line-up solid before considering consoles. But hey! Switch 2 comes along and I will be there with a line-up
@Grumblevolcano That's an interesting point. Could Darksiders 3 come to the Switch? Considering how much effort they put into porting Darksiders 1 for Wii U (despite the fish already being beaten dead and buried), that makes Darksiders 3 plausible.

Re: Yooka-Laylee Physical Pre-Orders Have Been Delayed Until Friday, More Details To Come
@Bunkerneath I'm waiting to find out. If it is meh I will only go for standard.

Re: Cosmic Star Heroine Brings 2D RPG Action To Switch Next Month
@Bunkerneath already confirmed physical but unknown when. Hopefully physical will release when Octopath and Xenoblade Torna are done and dusted
Re: Cosmic Star Heroine Brings 2D RPG Action To Switch Next Month
It felt right for the Nintendo audience but damn did the developers have a hard time getting Nintendo to let it arrive on the Switch
Well done them and I will be showing my support with a physical release!
Re: Review: All-Star Fruit Racing (Switch)
Sounds like the fruit came out a bit bruised.
Re: Hands On: Taking The Path Less Traveled In Octopath Traveler
Hnnnnnghhh!!!!

I need this game so badly. (I loved 16-bit games so much. This is like my Christmas in summer)

Re: Exclusive: Shelter Generations Is Getting A Wild New Physical Edition On Nintendo Switch
@Rhaoulos Because games tend to be manufactured in 1000s so they need to make sure that all that they manufacture get sold.
Otherwise they'd order 10,000 and only 3,000 get sold. It may be limited, but at least they'll know all their copies get sold.

Re: Review: Battle Chasers: Nightwar (Switch)
This lines up perfectly with my play time of the game. I can't wait to jump back into it today on my bus ride.
You should definitely pick this game up if you like RPGs. Do not let the performance scare concern you as it doesn't really impact the game that much
This is one of those titles that is worth its asking price
Re: Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate Hits Switch This August
@YummyHappyPills ...And now I am cautious about this release. Thanks for that

I've been playing Battle Chasers since the 5th and it is pretty good! It has a fair few rough spots but it is pretty solid.
And at the £25 I paid for it I can live with the rough spots. I don't regret buying this
