@BaffleBlend To be fair, it's their hard work. If you did something artistic for a price and you saw people making remakes of it for free, wouldn't you be upset?
End of the day, fan-remakes always get shut down because it is piracy in a new flavour. Fan-games that are original ideas tend to be left alone if they do not profit from it.
I find all this strange because I just ordered a Game Boy copy of Metroid II
I need to get round to trying out NES coding one day. See what I could make. And I agree, the price is a little too high to justify. Also I have 4 NES consoles already now...
You know, if I have a spare slot in my storage boxes for the 3DS collection, I will pop this one in. It looks interesting and a fresh change of pace from the other games in my collection.
@G_M Well, it's not the only reason. Genuinely good looking game, supporting smaller developers. Rare game in the future. Big Nintendo fan. Etc etc. But yeh, I am. I am defending a good game.
And in the context of Federation Force, I think it is more sad that the internet is whining over a graphics style, not-Samus characters and team gameplay. That to me is the sadder aspect. Not to mention the need to dislike every video.
At least my sadness is being constructive to the gaming industry at the end of the day.
I'm getting the game just to spite all the people whining on the internet.
It's one game. It's not like their saying "from this point on we're making Metroid into a cooking game". All they are doing is trying a new thing. If it doesn't work they will go back to the classic Metroid we love.
Personally I think it looks good. Not perfect but a good laugh. And can I point out the only reason Metroid flourish in the first place was because it kept trying new things?
@plug313 But the company is offering a free-to-play game (assuming you don't use micro-transactions) and is already spending money on servers and their upkeep.
Regardless of whether they make money or not, they are spending money running the serves in the first place. Why would they allow unofficial third-party developers to drain their already limited and undoubtedly expensive server space to run "help apps"?
I appreciate these help apps are beneficial to gamers but it should not come to further expense of the company. I would rather it was done by the company themselves. That way the server draining is done on purpose rather than third-party developers stealing server power.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Can I ask you something? If you have all these problems with how Nintendo treat Ireland, why are you always complaining about it here when you could be yelling down Nintendo's phone?
I'm just curious as you are quite vocal on it yet it doesn't seem apparent you are pursuing it correctly
@A01 The Vita was definitely not PS3 power levels. PS2 yeh. But not PS3 level. I have a few ports of games on that handheld and they look naught like their PS3 levels. Maybe PS2.5?
I'm going to reiterate what I say all the time. We know virtually nothing about the NX. These are all rumours. Until Nintendo come out and say nothing is true. No matter how credible the media outlet is. The following is all we know of the NX
-Powerful enough to run Breath of the Wild (Wii U+ performance) -Sonic 2017 is confirmed for it. (Due to being on the PS4 and XBO it could mean platform porting is easier this time round.) -Just Dance is confirmed for it. (So it is likely to have Wiimote support or some form of motion capturing tech) -Amiibo will be supported (Breath of the Wild)
Now being honest, it probably is a portable device. And that's a good thing. Even if it not as powerful as a PS4, a PS3/Wii U powered handheld is big news. But at this time I keep my expectations in check as it could be something completely different.
What still baffles me was the lack of amiibo support for TMS. By all means, make no new amiibo but how about supporting the current Fire Emblem amiibo? Could have seen a sales increase there
(Just an example of how some games are missing out on amiibo support that shouldn't)
Personally I think this is a good thing. 1 Dragon Quest a year is enough as they are pretty hefty in gameplay and also gives us more to look forward to in 2017
It's a Layton game. It's story first and puzzles second. Of course they are going to focus on that. Personally I think it is the most ideal approach for a Layton debut trailer nowadays
@Marce2240 He's right, we only define handhelds and consoles as a way to determine the difference. Deep down, they are both gaming devices. Nintendo has had to deal with two markets. By making them one, they are in for a winner
@aaronsullivan No issue, but you need to poke holes in the claim to find out if it is true. Like how Rayman was "leaked" for Smash. Good analysing managed to disprove it in an hour.

@Ninten-san Clearly they are pixelated to make them look edgey
Re: Video: New Pokémon and Team Skull Showcased in Fresh Pokémon Sun and Moon Trailer
It makes sense the Pika family would become surfers. They did back in Gen 1. And now they no longer need the waves

I quite like this idea. It sounds pretty fun!

It was for realsies this time. But now we need confirmation of a Europe release

Re: Sources Suggest That Pokémon and Mario Will Arrive on Nintendo NX in First Six Months
@MadAdam81 No next gen ports of the same game but better graphics? But what will I do with all my spare money?
Re: Sources Suggest That Pokémon and Mario Will Arrive on Nintendo NX in First Six Months
@TruenoGT Actually looking at day 1 alone, they were off to a great start
Re: Sources Suggest That Pokémon and Mario Will Arrive on Nintendo NX in First Six Months
@JaxonH And maybe not even 6 months. We need Nintendo to stun us in the first 3 months
Re: Sources Suggest That Pokémon and Mario Will Arrive on Nintendo NX in First Six Months
@dorkeybubblehead I thought Dragon Quest was only a possibility?

Doesn't bother me mind you as the Vita is lovely
Re: Sources Suggest That Pokémon and Mario Will Arrive on Nintendo NX in First Six Months
@A01 To be fair, that console suffered a severe lack of popular games. I have one and I have barely used it despite it having Persona 4 Golden.
EDIT: And Sony forgetting about it. A LOT.

@DESS-M-8 You serious? That's going to make retro collecting more difficult for me >_>

Nice! Time to pick up an Arceus
Re: It's All GO in the UK Charts with Pokémon Alpha Sapphire on the Rise
@Freeon-Leon Couldn't agree more. The biggest gain is the effects rather than the cash
Re: Random: Pokémon GO Road Signs Are a Reality
That would be quite nice to have on a wall as decor
Re: Video: Check Out Some Intriguing Metroid Prime: Federation Force Footage
I've had this game on pre-order for 3 months now. No regrets at all
Re: Rumour: Shantae and the Pirate's Curse is Getting a Physical 3DS Release
@r4ind4nce I'm willing to pay the price. Very much willing to grab an absolute classic.
And I think if this one happens that a Risky's Revenge is definitely on the table
Re: Rumour: Shantae and the Pirate's Curse is Getting a Physical 3DS Release
If they did this, I'd buy the original game boy game just to start the collection

@brandon9271 I would have assumed so
Re: Rumour: Nintendo NX Will Be Powered By Nvidia's Mobile-Focused Tegra Tech
@MailOrderNinja I would be as well. And if it was a handheld, HD Pokémon?
Re: Multiple Sources Outline a Portable NX With Detachable Controllers, Including a 'Base Station' for TV
@Marce2240 It could be something huge!
Re: Multiple Sources Outline a Portable NX With Detachable Controllers, Including a 'Base Station' for TV
@Marce2240 And it would work. Smash, Fire Emblem, Splatoon, Pokémon, Zelda, Mario, etc. All on one device!
Re: Rumour: Nintendo NX Will Be Powered By Nvidia's Mobile-Focused Tegra Tech
What we need to remember is that this device will support Breath of the Wild. No matter how powerful it is, that is our guideline here

@aaronsullivan Also how are cartridges any different nowadays to CDs? Only size and memory capacity I'd say

Re: Multiple Sources Outline a Portable NX With Detachable Controllers, Including a 'Base Station' for TV
It could be plausible. Only one question. How are the Amiibo used? That's the massive hole I see in this "leak"
