Re: AM2R Developer Encourages Players to Support Metroid II On the eShop and to Avoid 'Hate' Against Nintendo

@BaffleBlend To be fair, it's their hard work. If you did something artistic for a price and you saw people making remakes of it for free, wouldn't you be upset?

End of the day, fan-remakes always get shut down because it is piracy in a new flavour. Fan-games that are original ideas tend to be left alone if they do not profit from it.

I find all this strange because I just ordered a Game Boy copy of Metroid II

Re: Video: New Metroid Prime: Federation Force Trailer Arrives, and It's Still Fighting Dislikes

@G_M Well, it's not the only reason. Genuinely good looking game, supporting smaller developers. Rare game in the future. Big Nintendo fan. Etc etc. But yeh, I am. I am defending a good game.

And in the context of Federation Force, I think it is more sad that the internet is whining over a graphics style, not-Samus characters and team gameplay. That to me is the sadder aspect. Not to mention the need to dislike every video.

At least my sadness is being constructive to the gaming industry at the end of the day.

I'm getting the game just to spite all the people whining on the internet.

It's one game. It's not like their saying "from this point on we're making Metroid into a cooking game". All they are doing is trying a new thing. If it doesn't work they will go back to the classic Metroid we love.

Personally I think it looks good. Not perfect but a good laugh. And can I point out the only reason Metroid flourish in the first place was because it kept trying new things?

Re: PokéAdvisor is the Latest Third-Party Pokémon GO Service to Bite the Dust

Grandpa_Pixel

@plug313 But the company is offering a free-to-play game (assuming you don't use micro-transactions) and is already spending money on servers and their upkeep.

Regardless of whether they make money or not, they are spending money running the serves in the first place. Why would they allow unofficial third-party developers to drain their already limited and undoubtedly expensive server space to run "help apps"?

I appreciate these help apps are beneficial to gamers but it should not come to further expense of the company. I would rather it was done by the company themselves. That way the server draining is done on purpose rather than third-party developers stealing server power.

Re: Sources Suggest That Pokémon and Mario Will Arrive on Nintendo NX in First Six Months

Grandpa_Pixel

I'm going to reiterate what I say all the time. We know virtually nothing about the NX. These are all rumours. Until Nintendo come out and say nothing is true. No matter how credible the media outlet is. The following is all we know of the NX

-Powerful enough to run Breath of the Wild (Wii U+ performance)
-Sonic 2017 is confirmed for it. (Due to being on the PS4 and XBO it could mean platform porting is easier this time round.)
-Just Dance is confirmed for it. (So it is likely to have Wiimote support or some form of motion capturing tech)
-Amiibo will be supported (Breath of the Wild)

Now being honest, it probably is a portable device. And that's a good thing. Even if it not as powerful as a PS4, a PS3/Wii U powered handheld is big news. But at this time I keep my expectations in check as it could be something completely different.
