Re: Best F-Zero Games Of All Time

Umm… Maximum Velocity was the first GBA game I purchased (right along with the GBA itself) and it most certainly did have multiplayer (via link cable). If you look closely at the pic of the front of the box, it even says so right on it. 🤷🏼‍♂️

@CharlieGirl FFIV was my first as well. I rented it on SNES expecting it to be like Dragon Warrior on NES. Dragon Warrior was the only other JRPG I had ever played at that time and was expecting FFIV to be similar. I still remember how surprised I was at how more advanced the combat system was in FFIV than I was expecting! My young brain was not prepared for it at the time.
FFIV is by no means my favorite of the series (VI gets that honor) but it is definitely the one I have played through the most times. The nostalgia is strong.

A Breath of Fire collection on Switch would be an insta-purchase for me. I have only ever played the first one and would like a convenient, portable way to play the rest of them.
If they also want to release a brand new series entry, I guess I could live with that as well.

I will most likely buy RE4R.

I will definitely buy the next Mega-Man.

I love Street Fighter, but wasn't huge on IV or V, but may give VI a shot.

Re: Random: Pixel Artist Reimagines Zelda II For Game Boy Advance

@chipia To preface, I love the game, so I am not just trying to knock on it here, but difficulty spikes and overly cryptic puzzles are going to make it difficult for newcomers to enjoy it. Also, cheap deaths can happen often, which can be very frustrating.
Part of the issue too is that the NES hardware really limited the game as well (cut and paste towns, samey looking dungeons, bland overworld map). This is part of the reason I think the game was really ahead of its time. The concept was very inspired, but imagine how much more this game could have been had it been designed for the SNES. Admittedly though, they did accomplish a lot with the game considering hardware limitations.

2 was the first Zelda game I ever played, so it was a pretty big deal to me. That being said, the game is admittedly very flawed. Great concept, arguably way ahead of it’s time, but we, the gamers, may not have been ready for that type of game at that time. And that difficulty level… woof!
I think a new Zelda game in it’s style could really be something special if done right.
