@DTfeartheBEARD Yeah, if you aren’t a big strategy fan Triangle might not do it for you. It might still be worth a try if you get it on sale though because it could possibly grow on you. It is a very accessible strategy title.

I agree! Square-Enix has been treating Switch owners VERY well. Just overall, the Switch has been a JRPG lover’s dream machine.

@DTfeartheBEARD I recently started Triangle Strategy and I am loving it! The game is gorgeous and the battle system is fun and very well polished.
A lot of people complained about the amount of dialog in the game, and yes, there is a TON of it, but I have honestly been enjoying the storyline and world’s lore so much that I am even loving every minute of the dialog sections. A+ game in my opinion.

@HefHughner When Triangle Strategy was first announced, I actually was hoping it would be the same world as Octopath.

@Mattock1987 Definitely not as pretty though. Triangle Strategy is absolutely gorgeous.

I honestly do not know how many times in my life I have played through A Link to the Past, but it is probably safe to say the number is in the 20’s. 😬

I actually have had Hallow Knight in my backlog for quite sometime, but I just finally started Triangle Strategy a couple of days ago, and wow, I can already tell it is going to occupy my full gaming attention for quite some time. 🙂
Unfortunately I will not be participating in this backlog club, but I hope everyone that does has a great time!

The split-screen multiplayer in From Russia with Love (GCN) was actually a lot of fun.

Imagine if someone would have tried to release this game in the 80’s or 90’s! 🤣

I like the aesthetic. It’s a nice blend of creepy and cute.

@KryptoniteKrunch I feel that. The Switch has really spoiled us in this respect.

Persona 5 and Final Fantasy VII remake were the only two games that REALLY tempted me to get a PS4, so now if FF VII remake ever comes out on Xbox, I will no longer have any itch for a PS4.*

I really REALLY hope the Switch port for Persona 5 is well done, but that being said, it is nice to know that I have the option of the Xbox version as backup.

*Nothing against Playstation, I loved my PS3. It just seems that a lot of the big PS exclusive games of the PS4 gen were these huge, sprawling, action-adventure open-world games that no longer interest me the same way that they used to.

I am kind of in the same boat as Gavin here. I am 99.9% certain that I will love Triangle Strategy, but I still haven't played it. I own it, it is sitting in my backlog-o'-fun, but still haven't pulled the trigger yet.

@Kienda The "eco-friendly" toy change was just some virtue-signal marketing B.S. as they went back to plastic toys very quickly. It was just an extremely transparent attempt at trying to give themselves a shining image.

@sc100 Super Mario Bros (NES) was the first video game I have memory of playing in my life, and Street Fighter 2 is probably the arcade game that I have pumped the most hours into in my life, so you are totally speaking my language here.

@Raffles Looking at single-player missions only, I can totally understand the preference for Goldeneye, but it was the multiplayer aspect of Perfect Dark that bumped it ahead in my opinion (variety of weapons, maps, bots, unlockables, etc).

This was a really good game, but for some reason I could just never really stick with it.

Great game. Perfect Dark is still better though.

I am stuck at work, so I am wondering if anyone here has tried this out yet, and if so, what do you think?

@Big_Fudge Yeah, I would prefer Persona 5 on Switch, but it is comforting to know that if they ‘eff up the Switch port I will still have the option to get it on my Xbox instead. 🙂

Somehow I had never heard of this game until seeing this article.
I proceeded to look up what this game was all about.
I then proceeded to preorder this physical edition.

I used to love choose your own adventure stories. I might check this out sometime in the future after they have had a chance to iron the bugs out.

I haven’t played a point and click adventure game in ages, but these both look very tempting.

If the new console is 100% backward compatible with the current Switch, I will buy the new console as soon as I am able. If it isn’t, I will likely wait for quite some time while I keep playing Switch games I haven’t gotten around to yet. I am sure many current Switch owners feel this same way.

It has been soooo long since I have played Mario RPG, but wasn’t there some kind of reward for beating the mine kart game in a certain amount of time?

New turtles game is solid. The controls and move-set feel like such a natural progression from Turtles in Time, and this makes the game feel like a proper sequel to the arcade series.

Without going too far into spoiler territory, they are somewhat connected now through the storyline of Stranger of Paradise.

@Aneira I loved both 6 and 7 as well and would also agree that 6 is the superior game, and now when it comes to people who never played them in the 90s as new games and are going back and playing both of them, 6 has the huge advantage of aging much more gracefully in the visual department.

I really hope this gets delayed because I want it to be as good as it can be, and this holiday season seems very close already.

@fox_mattcloud My 3.5 year old is super big into Sonic right now as well. It is cool seeing Sega and this franchise make a pretty big comeback into pop culture.

@thinkhector Every Ms Pac-Man table machine I have ever played in my life has been the fast version, so playing the slow version just feels so off. 🙁

@CharlieGirl It would also be great to be able to play the fast Ms Pac-Man on console, but every console port we get is the crappy slow version…

@tyranny_life DQ1 on NES was my first ever RPG as well. To this day I still have vivid memories of playing it as a child who could barely even read at that time. It was the game that started a lifelong addiction to not only JRPGs, but medieval fantasy in general.
