I totally agree that someone should be able to cancel a pre order and get their money back if they change their mind before the games release. But on the other hand, why the hell would anyone pre order from the eShop!? It’s not like they’re going to run out of stock on release day.

The online service was free. Then they introduced an £18 charge and gave me some NES games. I really do feel like I’m being charged £18 a year for NES games I’ll never play, but I haven’t got a choice if I want to play online. For me, this is a pretty crummy deal

I hope they can improve the performance for the Switch version. I like the game but it has a few too many niggley flaws to be worth recommending to others.

It’s almost as if the game is designed with... fun. in. mind. SHOCK!

To anyone who never played the original. It’s amazingly good. Right up there with the very best Mario Kart games. I probably won’t be buying it though, I still have the original and I always seem to find remakes a bit disappointing.

If Nintendo insist on charging for online play, fine. I mean, I’d rather they didn’t, but it’s not totally unreasonable. What is unreasonable, is attaching crap that no one wants to that online subscription. If they offered the online service for £12 without the NES games, I’d go for it and I’d bet most others would too.

@impurekind well, we can say for sure that he cheated. Because we know he cheated. He claims his tapes were switched, then claims he has evidence to prove this happened, then doesn’t let anybody see this evidence. All the while, everybody else has evidence which shows he cheated.

Just like Lance Armstrong, he was/is amazing at what he does. But he cheated to get to the top. And that’s why no one will ever take him seriously ever again.

No one doubted his ability. It’s the fact that he cheated that’s the problem. I don’t think he quite gets it.

@Pod I’d say most publishers are better than Ubisoft when it comes to releasing buggy unfinished games. Capcom, Sega, Nintendo, Activision, Rockstar, Blizzard etc. Even EA are less prone to pushing buggy software out the door. The only publisher that springs to mind worse than Ubisoft is Bethesda. Which is a shame, because Ubisoft have made some amazing and very polished games in the past. But their generic open world games are so often filled with glitches and bugs that to say they have high standards is a bit of a joke.

I’m so buying this. It sounds like a port of the 3DS version. Which is fine by me, I poured dozens of hours into that game and I’ll probably do it again in the big screen. Hype

I’ll be keeping an eye out for this. I love me some futuristic racing games. I just got Grip, and it’s not bad, but it’s just totally broken in parts. I hope Redout ends up being better

Piracy of retro games is piracy all the same. I can understand it if the original cart is prohibitively expensive and the game isn’t available on a modern download service. But aside from that, shut it down.

Got, got and double got. I’ve ordered two of the controllers, mainly to use with my Gamecube, my original ones are knackered.

I like the directs, but my favourite part of Nintendo’s E3 coverage is the treehouse. It’s always in depth and informative stuff and they occasionally throw a sneaky announcement in there. No other publisher does this and I think that’s a shame.

I laugh, LAUGH at Animal Crossing fans eagerly awaiting a new game in their favourite franchise.

I downloaded it last night. Never played it before, but it’s quite fun. Not entirely my cup of tea, but I’ll probably play it some more tonight.

As for the port, the only thing that bugged me about it, is distant players move at a massively reduced frame rate. Not sure if this happens with other versions, but it makes it hard to aim from a distance.

Wow, this looks cheap. It reminds me of those pre Toy Story CG short films, which would be amazing if it were 1992.

I just imported the North American version because Europe doesn’t exist I guess. I’m enjoying it, but I can’t update manually because I’m playing on a European 3DS. Is this the update that makes the game run at 60 FPS too?

I’d like to see Retro take on the F-Zero series, since they seem to be dedicated to reviving neglected Nintendo franchises.

This is painful for me. I hardly play online at all, but I do enjoy a few matches of splatoon every now and then. The NES games hold no interest for me, because I have an NES. Basically, this is going to be £18 a year for a few splatoon matches every now and then. I’m really not seeing the value in that.

Something that always makes me laugh about stories like this. “We’ve hacked into this new console and now we can make it do ANYTHING!!”. “Cool, what are you going to do with it?”, “run a SNES emulator and play Super Mario World mwahahahaha!”....

I’m leaning heavily towards it being Smash 5. Based purely on the idea that if it was an enhanced port, they’d have just shown it off, rather than given us a super vague teaser.

I want more 3DS announcements because that system is awesome and it deserves to live forever.

This is actually a pretty bad deal when you add it up. I hope they continue with the special discounts and rewards as well as turning it into a basic loyalty scheme. I suppose it’s not too bad if you buy all digital, but for everyone else it’s not so great.

Cool. I love my 3DS, it’s one of my favourite systems ever. The longer it lives the better I hope they come out with a few more gems before it does inevitably die.

I’m going to jump on the bandwagon and declare my Nintendo to be rubbish, while at the same time eyeing up that Chibi Robo discount... I think I might go for that.

Despite not liking Bloodborne, I minght give Dark Souls a go. I’ll keep my eye on Mario Tennis and maybe I’ll go for Kirby? I dunno. TWEWY and Ys VIII have got my interest though, I’ll probably end up grabbing those two.

Personally, I hope it has a multiplayer focus and lots of micro transactions and loot boxes.

This is my game of the year. It’s rare that I restart a game immediately after finishing it.... twice.
