Woop. With all the Switch excitement, I forgot about Dragon Quest VIII. I'll be getting that this weekend

I've preordered at three different places just to make sure I actually get one. I'll cancel two of them before launch. I'm such a dork.

I wouldn't put it past Nintendo to do this. I remember the GameCube suddenly having a price drop to £129 from £169 just before launch. Same happened with the DS. All the marketing said it would be £129, then a week before launch they announced it would be £99. Still, I'll wait until Friday before I get too carried away.

I just finish DQIX, my first Dragon Quest. Started playing VII, got this preordered in the hope I'll be done with VII by the time it comes out (unlikely). Really getting into the series

I remember it all. Legendary. TBH, Perry and Diamond were both wienerheads, but Diamond was at least funny about it.

If the two versions are different enough, I might end up double dipping. Assuming they both get localised, that is.

Even if all that is true, I'm sure the fact that the Wii U is all but a dead console made the decision a bit easier. I do hope it comes to the switch sooner rather than later though.

My only response to any Switch rumour these days is, roll on January 13th.

For some reason, the my Nintendo site won't let me log in on my phone. Just goes to a page that says access denied before I even get the chance to give it my log in info. Works fine on my iPad though.

I got my NES mini yesterday (thanks Nintendo UK store). Got to say, I'm a bit disappointed with it. The controllers are close to the originals but not exactly like them and the input lag makes games like Super Mario Bros. unplayable for me. Shame really.

To be honest, you could compare the Wii U NES emulation to Margret Thatcher's left bollock nailed to a dead horse and it'd still look crap.

Damn it. I just bought Fast Racing Neo two weeks ago. I always buy physical when I can, so I guess I'll have to buy it on disc too. Because I'm a sucker. Same thing happened with Shovel Knight too.

I think it's the perfect approach. Sonic Mania keeps people like me, who grew up on the original games, happy. The 2017 game keeps those who grew up with the 3D games happy. Hopefully they don't screw any of it up.

Questions: how long is the cable on the controller? How is the 'feel' of the controller compared to the originals? And most importantly, does the cartridge door flip up?

Why does the NA eShop always get discounts of games I want. Which are never discounted in Europe. Oh well.

I understand people's opinion of this game. But I don't share it. It looks like a decent action platformer, I'm looking forward to playing it.

Man, if Earthbound was discounted on the 3DS virtual console I'd buy it in a heart beat. Oh well, lots of other discounts that take my interest. Fast Racing Neo, Kirbys Adventure 3D, Gunman Clive. Looks like I'll be earning myself some gold points.

I got my NES controller high tops and Zelda slip-ons today. They're awesome. The boxes they come in are amazing too, perfect for storing Nintendo accessories in.

Games are for playing.

Some one please, tell me this is coming to Europe too.

Those NES hi tops and Zelda slip ons just cost me £112. This is one of the many, many reasons why I'm single.

But that's before I get paid. Oh well, looks like I'm dipping into my savings. It is an emergency situation after all.
