Re: Video Game YouTuber Dunkey Launches His Own Indie Publishing Company

GammaPhonic

It's amazing how many people don't like Dunkey just because he made fun of their favourite game.

Personally, I have a lot of respect for him. When he's serious and when he's joking around, he's never afraid to say what he really thinks about a game. Which isn't the impression I get from larger gaming news/review outlets like IGN, Eurogamer and Nintendolife. And get this, I still think this even though he made fun of my favourite game.

This announcement does strike me as a bit odd though. Why announce a publishing company if you don't yet have any games to publish?

Re: Video: What Was Your First Video Game Ever?

I vaguely remember having a C64 when I was a wee nipper. I remember playing some golf game and Chase HQ on it. But my first clear memory of gaming is Sonic the Hedgehog on my trusty Megadrive. Still got that copy of the game, still got that original Megadrive.

Re: Random: Dev Launches Attack On NFTs At An NFT-Sponsored Event

GammaPhonic

@Kiz3000 I don’t think that’s true at all. If you buy a game as an NFT, the publisher is under no more obligation to keep that game available for download as they are if you’d bought it off steam or the eShop. If it gets delisted, your NFT becomes useless. All you “own” is proof the transaction took place.

It’s literally the same system we already have, but with extra steps in between that are terrible for the environment.

NFTs are a solution in search of a problem. And I think that’s being generous.

Re: Video: Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp Switch Vs. GBA Comparison

Game looks great, but I’m a bit disappointed it’s just a remake. And a pretty straight forward remake from what I have seen. I probably won’t be buying it as I’ve got the original games, I can just play those if I want some Advance Wars action. I would highly encourage anyone who hasn’t played the series to get this though. Two of the best strategy games ever made IMO.

Re: Development Of Disaster Report 5 Is Already Underway

To those asking, Disaster Report 4 is an objectively bad game. Bad graphics, performance, controls, design and localisation. But there is something totally unique about it that makes it worth playing. I bought the special edition for £80 and don’t regret it (but then, I’m a fan of the series).

If you’re ever in the mood for something different and see it on sale, go for it.
