TwitchPlaysPokémon has become a rather iconic staple of the streaming service over the last few years; the original live stream, which happened all the way back in 2014, completely took the internet by storm, generating many hours of madness and memes that will potentially live on for a very long time.

If you're unfamiliar with the concept, TwitchPlaysPokémon is a live-streaming channel that allows its viewers to input commands in the chat, controlling the characters on screen. Over the years the channel has played through a variety of official Pokémon titles, and even some unreleased hacks, with everyone viewing the stream being able to take part. Now, to celebrate the channel's four-year anniversary, a new campaign has begun with Pokémon Red and Blue being played simultaneously side-by-side.

The usual madness is still in full effect with players inputting hundreds of commands per minute for the game of their choosing, causing a whole host of hilarious outcomes along the way. The stream has massively progressed from its humble beginnings, however; full team lists are now displayed beneath each game, and players can also bet tokens in a game of Pokémon Pinball which is being played at the bottom of the screen. The video below shows the moment both games were taking on Brock, the first gym leader.

If you want to watch the action unfold for yourself you can visit the stream on Twitch here; at the time of writing, the two games were actually in the middle of a trade with each other! Make sure to drop us a comment below if you plan on taking part - we'd love to hear how you get on.
