"We believe the easiest way for you to connect and have a peer-to-peer experience with voice chat is with your mobile phone. It’s always there, it’s always with you. "
In other words, he's assuming that every person in the world with a Switch owns a smartphone and has it with them 24/7. Which kind of offends me a bit.
Damn, I feel him. From how Masuda described the experience, I can really understand how frustrating it must have been, and the stress and anxiety that comes from having problems like this with a computer.
Ah, that's sad to hear. I hope he'll be alright... I cannot thank him enough for composing some of my favourite VGM of all time. For example: https://youtu.be/Tq8TV1PqZvw
BTW, it seems like some people in the comment section think that this is an official product. It's not. It's just some pictures that a guy on reddit made.
I heard about the earthquake on the news yesterday, and I completely understand this decision. How are you supposed to air a Direct if people around you literally are dying, buildings are being destroyed and the electricity isn't really working? Hopefully everyone at Nintendo is safe...
@NEStalgia Review scores (along with the Scoring Policy and conclusions) are easier to read for me than the review texts. Like another user pointed out, the review texts often use a lot of ”slick” wording, which doesn’t really get the writers’ points across for me. It also doesn’t help that English isn’t my native language.
We definitely need scores. They’ve helped me a lot when it comes to deciding if I should buy a game or not. If they were removed from this site, I would still read the reviews, but they would be much less helpful to me.
What are you supposed to do with these new costumes? Buy them, and then jump around in the game with them and take pictures of Mario that you upload to Twitter? I honestly don't see the point.
@Banjos_Backpack The video mixed up a lot of games and songs, got most of the instruments at 0:51 wrong, said that the system "could only accommodate for 64 kilobytes of audio RAM" which isn't true etc.
I'm part of a forum and Discord server that is about ripping and researching video game music, and I can't help but notice that there are a lot of errors in this video.
I think the early builds of this game were much better than the final version. Based on the first Let's Plays of it, I thought it looked rather decent, but then the developers started trying to make it a bigger game than it really should be, and adding too much unnecessary content that just ruined the atmosphere and gameplay more and more.
How abhorrent!! Does nobody care about protecting the children!? The Earth is going to explode soon if we do not do anything about this madness! This humble mom, for one, thanks the lovely chaps at YouTube for bringing justice to these crazy Japs. After all, throwing ping pong balls into people's.... cleavages (brr) is much worse than recording and having a good time cracking jokes with dead people.
I gave up on completing Odyssey 100% because I couldn't find enough Purple Coins to buy all of the souvenirs. I might get back into the game sometime, but I feel like I'm done with it right now.
This is only to be expected since the Switch has been so popular recently. I actually saw an ad for Mario Tennis Aces on a street in Sweden recently, which probably is the first time I've ever seen a Nintendo ad here, so that's a good sign.
This just looks like a regular mobile strategy game, in my opinion. That trailer instantly reminded me of those ad videos that pop up in free-to-play games.
I don't like it when you have to click on the source link in an NL article to read the full story, the article could have said what the names of the websites were.
I really enjoyed Sonic Mania, but I think Sega has milked it a bit too much. As a company, you can't just rely on your fans to continue making good games for you. I think Sega should try something new.
I love NL, and most of the issues I had with it before are gone now, but I still do have some gripes.
1: The articles have had a lot of typos lately, mostly the ones by Dom (no offense). Sometimes there are sentences that don't even make sense, and that makes the article hard to read.
2: The strict swearing censorship. It's rather annoying to see, and sometimes the mods are so harsh that they delete entire comments that merely hint at swearing, which hurts the community. I think they should stick to censoring strong, unnecessary or hateful swearing.
3: Less articles that aren't related to Nintendo at all, like the Dark Souls LEGO one in June. This is Nintendo Life, not Push Square.
4: Less Fortnite guides, I don't think most people here are interested in them.
5: And finally, (and this is just a nitpick because I have tetraphobia) the clickbait articles. We've been seeing much less of them lately, but they still appear sometimes.
I hate censorship, and it's one of the reasons why I've tried to learn Japanese, and haven't played some classic games yet. The only times I'm OK with it is when the purpose of it is to keep the same age rating as the Japanese original, and this is not one of those times. Please get your act together, American company guys.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 13th)
I'm probably going to play a lot of Octopath Traveler.
Re: Random: Refusing To High Five Characters In Super Mario Party Has Hilarious Results
"UNGH! UNGH!"
Yeah... not funny.
Re: Multiple Nintendo Switch Network Maintenance Sessions Could Impact Online Gaming This Week
I'm glad this doesn't really affect Europe, especially since I just subscribed to the Nintendo Switch Online trial. Poor Americans though.
Re: Surprise! Both Guacamelee Games Headed To Switch, First Available Right Now
Nice! Guacamelee is one of my favourite PC games of all time, so I should definitely try out the sequel when it arrives on the Switch.

Re: Capcom Announces Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy For Nintendo Switch
I would get this if I hadn't already completed the 3DS trilogy.

Re: Nintendo Switch System Update 6.0.0 Is Now Live
I'm glad Nintendo still cares about stabil- oh, crap.
Re: Random: Father Steals "Gameboy DS" From Prize Machine With Help Of His Daughter
@PLAYwithGregg I'm sorry for offending you, I guess my deprecation of the US can be a bit toxic sometimes.
Re: The Apple Watch Gets A Bit Of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Love
This is more "Random" than "News", in my opinion.

Re: Illegal Game Sharing Site Mocks Nintendo's Recent Legal Actions With Trolling Video
Everyone here should remember that Nintendo actually used ROMs from "illegal" websites themselves.
Re: Rumour: New Nintendo Direct Airing Later Today
I hope to see more of the Undertale port, it'll be interesting to see how the game is handled on the Switch.

Seriously? The listing is already gone.
Re: DOOM Eternal Will Raise Hell On Nintendo Switch
I might be the only one here who doesn’t like overly violent first person shooters (except Anti-Matter). Maybe I’m just too young.
Re: Nintendo's Recent Legal Action Against ROM-Sharing Sites Scares Major Player Into Removing Downloads
I'm sure glad I already have all of the ROMs I need on my old hard drive!
Re: Weirdness: 70 Year Old Man Plays Pokémon GO With 11 Smartphones Attached To His Bike
Honestly, I hope someone stops this man.
Re: Random: Zelda Fan Spends 484 Hours Completing Every Game In The Series To 100%
This would have been really tedious for me, I haven't even completed BoTW yet.
Re: Random: Relax You Guys, Luigi's Not Dead - He's Just 'Resting His Eyes'
This was really creepy for a usually family-friendly Nintendo Direct, in my opinion.

That looks really good! But I won't double-dip considering I've already played it on PC.
Re: Pokémon RPG Release Date Has Changed From "Second Half" Of 2019 To "Late 2019"
I'm completely OK with this as long as the RPG isn't going to release later because of Let's Go. That game was a bit of a waste of time, to be honest.

This is probably the most clickbait-y article I've seen on this site in a while, haha.
Re: Treasurenauts For 3DS eShop Cancelled, Switch Development Remains On-Track
Whatever helps this game release sooner is good in my book. It feels like the last time I heard about Treasurenauts was ten years ago.

This is not really Nintendo-related news, in my opinion.

Re: Nindies Respond To Nintendo Releasing High Volume Of Games On Switch eShop
The eShop is so boring right now, in my opinion. No music, ugly design and a lot of shovelware.
Re: Tingle Was Going To Star In A Horror Game Until It Got Axed And Replaced By Dillon’s Rolling Western
Tingle would probably not fit in a horror game, in my opinion.
Re: Crazy Doodle-Art Shooter State Of Anarchy: Master Of Mayhem Is Headed To Switch
