Re: Talking Point: Do We Still Need Review Scores?

@NEStalgia Review scores (along with the Scoring Policy and conclusions) are easier to read for me than the review texts. Like another user pointed out, the review texts often use a lot of ”slick” wording, which doesn’t really get the writers’ points across for me. It also doesn’t help that English isn’t my native language.

We definitely need scores. They’ve helped me a lot when it comes to deciding if I should buy a game or not. If they were removed from this site, I would still read the reviews, but they would be much less helpful to me.

@Banjos_Backpack The video mixed up a lot of games and songs, got most of the instruments at 0:51 wrong, said that the system "could only accommodate for 64 kilobytes of audio RAM" which isn't true etc.

Re: Review: Hello Neighbor (Switch)

I think the early builds of this game were much better than the final version. Based on the first Let's Plays of it, I thought it looked rather decent, but then the developers started trying to make it a bigger game than it really should be, and adding too much unnecessary content that just ruined the atmosphere and gameplay more and more.

How abhorrent!! Does nobody care about protecting the children!? The Earth is going to explode soon if we do not do anything about this madness! This humble mom, for one, thanks the lovely chaps at YouTube for bringing justice to these crazy Japs. After all, throwing ping pong balls into people's.... cleavages (brr) is much worse than recording and having a good time cracking jokes with dead people.

I love NL, and most of the issues I had with it before are gone now, but I still do have some gripes.

1: The articles have had a lot of typos lately, mostly the ones by Dom (no offense). Sometimes there are sentences that don't even make sense, and that makes the article hard to read.

2: The strict swearing censorship. It's rather annoying to see, and sometimes the mods are so harsh that they delete entire comments that merely hint at swearing, which hurts the community. I think they should stick to censoring strong, unnecessary or hateful swearing.

3: Less articles that aren't related to Nintendo at all, like the Dark Souls LEGO one in June. This is Nintendo Life, not Push Square.

4: Less Fortnite guides, I don't think most people here are interested in them.

5: And finally, (and this is just a nitpick because I have tetraphobia) the clickbait articles. We've been seeing much less of them lately, but they still appear sometimes.
