@Orochilocka It's been a while since I played it, but I don't remember there being much handholding. There was at least one time where the game didn't explain at all what you were supposed to do.
"The hashtag #ThankYouSakurai has been trending for a while now, and I've been reading about it. I'm really grateful for this. It's a result of the support of so many people!"
It's a shame DeepL isn't used more for Japanese translations, because it's much more accurate than Google Translate (at least in my experience).
To say that you can't listen to the music anywhere now is just ignorant, as there's plenty of options, like for example buying the soundtrack CDs off ebay, playing the ripped files from the game, or listening to the songs on any of the other numerous websites with Nintendo music. The first two options are even superior to listening on YouTube in terms of sound quality.
Though this is old news as other people have said, I'm not really sure if Hideki would have fit Splatoon. I think it went just fine with Toru Minegishi and the other guys.
The reason why Nintendo didn't recruit Hideki is probably because he's likely only capable of making Fatboy Slim-style big beat and funk songs with groovy loops, and in other words a one-trick pony, from what I've heard. The lead composer on Splatoon also worked on Mario and Zelda games, and has actually composed music in a lot of other genres like jazz, orchestral and folk music, which I don't recall Naganuma ever doing.
I guess I'll take a break from Smash online for now, then, as I've gotten very used to playing it in handheld mode at this point, and I don't recall ever using a LAN adapter in my life. I've been struggling in Elite Smash for a very long time anyway, so it's probably a good idea to wrap things up.
It's Nintendo's loss, really. There will likely be other, unofficial, ways to get the DLC and the game for free for the people who really want the original Wii U version.
@KnightsTemplar If a demo of the game was available on the eShop, I would probably have tried it out day one. But I don't feel like spending money on it right now (though it's not impossible that something will convince me to get it in the future).
Nah, it's not for me. Especially what with Tanabe's comments about it being impossible to modify Mario characters or create original characters "that touch on the Mario universe". I don't want another game where more than half of the cast are multicoloured Toads and SMB1 enemies, and the music doesn't seem very good either.
This article is flat out incorrect, LOL, and it's not really a stretch to think of it as clickbait. Tanabe doesn't mention "Metroid Prime 4" anywhere in the interview, and by "games such as those in the Metroid Prime series", it's even possible that's he's only talking about the pre-existing games. 4 could very well be "ignoring casual players" depending on what direction the developers will go in.
Nice! The lack of an ability to create worlds was always one of Mario Maker's shortcomings when compared to SMBX, so I'm glad it's being added in this update, especially as there seems to be lots of options for customization.
GAME went bankrupt in 2015 here in Sweden. They used to sell quite a lot of random retro games, especially Nintendo ones I think, so it was always fun to check what was up for sale when you walked past them in a mall. The staff were friendly, and I think many of the old games I have are from there.
Sadly, it's pretty hard to find retro game stores nowadays unless you're specifically looking for them. Actually, there's not a lot of store chains that just sell new games either, especially what with GameStop closing down last year.
My right Joy-Con began drifting a short time before I started seeing all these complaints about it everywhere on the Internet. I tried to ignore it and keep playing, hoping that the issue would go away by itself, which it did. Though later this year, it stopped working entirely and wasn't detected by the console when I was charging it one day, and I tried about every method that I found, but nothing worked and the controller acted like it was completely bricked or out of battery.
I eventually replaced it, and haven't had any issues with the newer one yet, but this is probably the first time I've had any problems with a Nintendo console (except the NES) that I haven't caused myself.
I've played a lot of Smash lately but found myself missing Mario Odyssey yesterday, so I'm trying to complete it 100% right now (which is proving to be quite a challenge).
It's not an absolute necessity for me. I've already played the original game a lot on the Wii U and grew pretty tired of that, so I won't buy it yet. Maybe when there's a sale.
I really wonder what happened that caused him to end his life like this, other than the cyberbullying. Maybe he had schizophrenia? Whatever it was, my condolences go to his loved ones.
I doubt it's what he wrote. He probably just said "So long, Bowser!" and mispronounced the "g" intentionally, just like he said "Thank you so much-a for to playing my game-uh!" in the ending of the game.
I actually claimed my first victory in this game today. I didn't think I would enjoy it this much when I first got it, but I've been having a lot of fun with it lately.
Isn’t it a little strange that this ”Random” article links a tweet from the Brazilian president and throws shade on Donald Trump, yet the moderators of the site threaten to delete political discussion in the comment section?
To miss a reference is one thing (and that's acceptable in my eyes as long as the line still conveys the same meaning as the original), but rewriting a line to something else entirely and bastardizing the experience for Western players like Woolsey did here is not OK.
The demo had a nice atmosphere, and I did enjoy it, so I’ll probably get this very soon after its release. The first levels of games are always easy, so I don’t think it’s a good idea to judge the difficulty by the demo alone.
@IAmCharizard The guy in the video said that the 64k had to hold all the music and the sound effects for an entire game, which isn't how the SPC700 works, as far as I know. I'm not an expert on this, but from what I've heard, the 64 kb only stores the song and sound effects that currently are loaded into the RAM. It's pretty obvious that you would not be able to take all of the sounds in, for example, the Final Fantasy VI soundtrack, and load them into a 64 kb RAM at the same time.
@AlternateButtons This translation may not be 100% correct, but he wrote something like this: ”Today is the 20th anniversary of Super Smash. Bros! In 20 years no less, I’ve seen a lot of happy and intense playing of Smash in various homes, gatherings, conventions, offices of people in the same profession and so forth. The development was difficult, of course, but I feel very happy. Thank you for playing. ”
I probably won’t participate in this, both because it would be disrespectful to choose either of the sides, and because of the constant communication errors I got last Splatfest.

Sounds like Nine Inch Nails fused with Hideki Naganuma.

I feel like that part with the "masturbatory", "exclusionary" ads is a bit of a stretch, judging from the 90's ads that I've seen.

9/10 here. I must have either forgot about A Link Between Worlds or subconsciously counted it as a remake.
