The first trailer for the television animation, Mega Man: Fully Charged, has been shown at the San Diego Comic-Con. The show is based on the classic games, with season one running for ten episodes in total.
The story is about Aki Light – a schoolboy who can transform into a powerful hero known as Mega Man. When Sgt. Night and his evil team of robot masters show up in the futuristic Silicon City, it’s up to Mega Man to protect the city’s citizens with his mega buster arm cannon and also by absorbing powers from his opponents. Various other characters will pop-up along the way, including the robot dog, Rush.
Mega Man: Fully Charged premiers in the US next month. The show is a production between Cartoon Network, Man of Action Entertainment, Dentsu Entertainment USA and also DHX Media.
Take a look at the trailer above and tell us in the comments if you’re at all interested in watching, rather than playing, Mega Man.

Looks terrible, no need to watch.
Is that how Mega Man always sounds? (I've never played any Mega Man game for more than 5 minutes.)
Really don’t like the animation style or the voice acting
Should had call this Mighty No. 9 Fully Charged. The graphics look like they were ripped right from that game including the pizza style flames.
Mega Man Go
I don’t even understand the point of making it a Mega Man show. If you changed the design of Megaman and Rush and changed the names of the characters, I wouldn’t even know it was a Mega Man show.
@retro_player_22 That's what I was thinking. Looks more like Mighty No. 9
@retro_player_22 Darn you, I was gonna make a Mighty No. 9 comparison!
Looks awful
Eh... Not bad in my opinion.
Kinda like PAW Patrol meets Megaman.
Btw, was Dee Bradley Baker voiced the Megaman ?
His voices was somewhat like Numbuh 4 from Codename Kids Next Door.
Watch out, Fully Charged. X is on his way.
Yeah, no...
Credit where credit is due, some Robot Master designs are pretty neat and you can recognize them at least.
But the overall animation quality looks pretty bad.
Oh well, im not the target audience and luckily, MM11 wasn't a tie in game.
Looks and sounds like poop. Sorry Megaman!
All the cliches on display are mind boggling. Looks to add nothing new and pander exclusively to kids. “What makes a hero?” “A hero is who I am.” Seriously?
This looks like someone took some random Nickelodeon kids superhero show and put Mega Man's body on the main character.
I don't understand for some negativity here.
I am not a Megaman fan , i don't know about Megaman so much but I still neutral with them.
What do you expect from Megaman Animation series to be called "Wow !" Instead of "MEH ! " ?
Lol someone green lit this??
Looks like one of those shows made for Cbeebies or something. Clearly aimed at young children. Oh those children if they get to like it and makes them try out classic Megaman games. Some are gonna be shocked!
How I wish they had greenlit that proposed Rockman ZX anime.
The negativity is unjustified. This looks like it will appeal to its target audience. Aka, not us. Don't be butt hurt because a kids TV show turns out to be made for kids.
It’s like the son between Paw Patrol and some Transformer generic show. I guess the kids will like it. Then I’ll see it.
I'm more disappointed than an anime fan on prom night.
Oh, Lordy... this looks terrible. Hard to imagine hardcore Mega Man fans enjoying this bland art style.
Looks absolutely dreadful.
Why does it look like Paw Patrol and as slow and childish as it!?
They have lost the whole Manga aesthetic that made us all fall in love with mega man in the first place.
This a worse re-imagining than the Sonic Boom TV show
What!? Who is this for!? I've never met a kid that's played MegaMan for 5 minutes let alone finish a game!
Seems like a okay monster of the week cartoon. Nothing bad, but also nothing up to recent cartoon standards.
But it sure ain’t sonic boom.
For babies...
Huh, didn't know the Chinese were doing a knockoff Megaman show.
Cya
Raziel-chan
Yup, looks as bad as I thought it would be.
Not terrible (there were a few one liners I chuckled at) but not great.
I'm no fan of the series, but somehow I don't think this was made for them...
I'll give it a chance. I would have preferred a more faithful rendition of the character, but that clearly didn't happen here, so I'll see if there's any value in whatever... this is.
What? No Dr Wily? Seems like a odd thing to leave out. For maximum reference points they should have him pop up as the true villain at the end, true Megaman style.
Anyway, not for me, but I agree with others that the Robot Master designs are nice.
Well, I guess I've seen worse. Handled well, it might expose more of the younger ones to a good game series.
I just wish that some shows would return to hand drawn animation despite the fact that it's more expensive.
@AlternateButtons
Mega Man from the Ruby Spears cartoon never needed to kill the Robot Masters to grain their abilities either, he literally just had to touch their buster / arm to get it so he could scan the internals.
The "schematic" part could be a indirect reference for that.
Also, kids are a lot smarter than people give them credit for in general, they're just uninitiated in a lot of things, unlike adults.
@Bliquid We don't even have the first episode out and you're basically claiming there's "Nothing to it but X".
I agree it's very Ben 10-ish, but at the very least wait till the pilot airs before making that decision outright?
@607jf Maybe try introducing them to the series then? :
Could've been worse. The animation style is alright. Though the backgrounds are empty and lifeless. The dialogue definitely stinks like a typical modern kids cartoon. You know, the kind filled with meaningless new age waffle ("believe in yourself"), and overused cliche phrases ("Let's do this!").
Somebody get me some bleach.
They should have got the team who made the 2003 Astro Boy series. Or at least took some inspiration from them. They knew how to make a cartoon that was visually appealing, stayed true to the source designs, and draw interest from both children and older fans. This looks like every other cheap cg cartoon on tv. The kids that will be interested in this are too young to play megaman. If they try, they will be deeply frustrated.
This gives me less hope for the upcoming Mario movie.
It’s time to go...home, Mega Man, and sit down until your 11th game comes out.
The animation looks alright, and the art style is definitely a, um, bold choice, and I respect the creators for trying something new. But this doesn’t look good.
Looks good enough for me, some design choices are not what I would have made, but they fit in with how most children cartoons are made today.
Sadly, most mega man "fans" are a bunch of negative Nancies who can't make up their mind on what they think they want, so here's hoping this brings in new, real fans, and in doing so, revitalize the franchise.
Yeah, i'm good. I'll wait until Mega Man 11.
Why does every new kid's show use a snarky voice for the lead character?
And I cringed every time he said "it's time to gowh Megah"
Obviously not for the old people like me... But it looks bad
#notmybluebomber
Yuck.
What in heavens name is that 😳
Looks very very bad. I could stand the cliches and childish writing if the animation or voice acting was decent but it is all just so bad in so many ways. Do kids these days even know who Mega Man is?
My childhood hero charged in action!
I think it looks okay. It probably helps that I've never found anything from the classic series particularly compelling. Those games aren't pinnacles of storytelling, in any case. It also probably helps that I have no standards when it comes to voice acting. You have to do very badly for me to notice it as bad.
It's cool that Mega Man is thinking about what he needs to do to be a better hero, especially since they are playing up human/robot relations to as their conflict. I'm reserving judgement until I get more of the supporting cast. How Aki Light interacts with his friends could make or break the show.
It's also worth noting how this is a good thing for Cartoon Network right now. They could really use a good new action show.
I dont want my kids to watch this.
Both SonicX and Megaman Nt warrior were better then this. Both had flaws but they atleast complimented the source material very well visually and storywise too and are better Animes then Pokemon is in many ways.
A show for today's kids that isnt meant for us?
Why am I not surprised? Besides, we have have the X Legacy Collections and 11 coming.
not really at all interested.
Going for a newer art style is one thing I mean like everyone said the robot masters and Megaman look like they should and with some good updated styles.
That being said however why show this at comic con or use the name Megaman at all if its not intended for older fans I mean I dont think little children attend Comic con, this is the Thundercats Roar fiasco all over again trying to cash in on an old IP and then having it blow up in your face when fans hate it, double points if the creator doubles down on twitter and ranting about toxicity of the fans.
Hey, Bass, why must I fight you? We are not enemies!
As a Mega Man fan, I can see this wasn't made to be aimed at me.
It looks like PJ Masks. With that being the case, with it's bright colors, simplistic shapes, and what will undoubtedly be a very minimal narrative... it's clear who the target audience is.
I think my five year old can find fun in it, and what's the problem with that? I kinda welcome it, really. It's a new adaptation for a new audience. Let the new audience decide what to make of it. It's not for us.
The Marvel cartoons that were developed for children don't make Iron Man or Hulk, or Captain America lame. They made them appeal to someone else.
Sometimes, them's the brakes.
@nab1 Amen.
@Bliquid Except what you consider mediocre isn't an objective quantity. It's a subjective one.
@nonprophetmusic One thing I can say for it, based on the pilot trailer, it's narrative might not be as minimal as time goes on.
Also Mega Mini is looking to be a funny character.
@Bliquid hmm. Can't actually disagree with you there and shows with layers being better. As a Megaman fan, I want a show like that. But from day 1, I wasn't interested in this particular Megaman show, because it was obvious right away it wasn't for we old fans. Doesn't mean it won't be good for the younglings.
And if it's good, it might encourage them to make another show for us oldiewonks. They'll be less inclined to do that if we call for their offices to be burned down though. That's why it's frustrating to me to see people react badly.
Oh sweet, so they're adding Mega Man X costumes to Miitomo?
...wait a minute...Miitomo's been dead for years!

A Mega Man CGI cartoon???
MONKEY PAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWW!!!
Wait, maybe I'm jumping to conclusions? Maybe it'll have good writing and some decent fight scenes?

PAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where's Rock?
Where the hell is Rock?
Who the f*ck is Aki Light?
Guys....
@Bliquid Quality isn't an objective quantity whether you like it or not. Video games themselves are a perfect example of this, where some people think some games are absolute garbage while others think some games are diamonds in the rough.
What you think is an objective standard of quality is nothing but your personal opinion of a product based on your knowledge and experiences, same as mine. You're just the type of person that thinks their opinion is an objective fact by "Rule of Wisdom".
Sadly that wisdom is exclusive to you and you alone.
I really, really don't like this kind of animation. It's just so devoid of detail, everything feels recycled within moments of watching ... there is this distinct lack of personality to it all. It's just really bland ... just bad all-around, to the point where I find it at times depressing.
It's a form of artistic expression, largely drained of artistry. It's an inherent contradiction. Mostly though, it's unpleasant to look at.
LOL at all these pathetic adults white-knighting for a clearly mediocre kid's cartoon.
Gross!!! Definitely not the next NT Warrior.
Ugh. I felt physically ill. I get that it's a kid's show and it's not for me, but they couldn't be bothered to call him Rock? The animation looks as expected in this day and age--can't be bothered to hand-draw animation anymore I guess--I admit liking how his appearance changed when he took on other Robot Masters' powers, but...I was a kid once and I can't remember any time in my life where I actually liked a cartoon character's catch phrase and hearing "Time to go Mega" over and over again was overwhelmingly irritating just in that trailer.
Hard pass...
Mega Man was one of my favorite games growing up and I have the Good Smile Rock Man toy that I literally bought in Japan. That being said... I would never let my child watch this show.
Also I am sure once this show fails, and it will fail, Capcom will use said failure as a reason to not make at least one new Mega Man game.
@Bliquid
Pardon ?
I don't think Megaman Full Charge is bad.
It just look Different.
I want to know how different the new version compared with old version.
And we can't judge before we fully watch the show.
And even if it will be Mediocre, so what ?
At least it will not so rubbish unless if the case was like Final Fantasy The Spirit Withins.
As someone who stuck my nose up: Its not as terrible as I thought, but its not that great either. MOA put out a partial sneak peek of one of their episodes and I kinda liked it.
Mega Mini ruins the whole thing. Plus him popping out of his head was weird and kinda gross. Get rid of him!
I like the vg sound effects and music and 2D perspectives here and there. It's still butt-ugly though. But I can now see myself being mildly entertained by this.
@Matthew010 In most of the classic games he's usually silent. Except for 8 and 11. Unsure if he speaks in 9 or 10.
@brandonbwii Well this is Man of Action and their heroes have always been a tad...egotistical and snide. I'm not defending them for that mind you, I'm just pointing it out. In fact, it annoys me that they made Aki Light, into Mega Tennison.
@Bliquid Then you haven't seen what Rise of the Turtles and ThunderCats Roar looks like. Absolutely hideous and championing tv networks baffling misconception, that kids are dumber then bricks. :/
@MegaVel91 Well said!
@LArachelDisciple They have a decent one in Transformers RiD15. Fully Charged has been relegated to the 6:30 am slot so I've heard.
@Bliquid Most of what you just spouted is entirely nonsense. I'm not going to bother arguing semantics to someone who's projecting themselves onto someone else.
@Matthew010 Hooo boy you're in for a treat.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmMispgpUs0
@Tempestryke Oh hey, you're right! Transformers RID had three seasons and here I thought it was cut short. I've got to get better at following TV schedules.
I wonder why they even aquire new shows if they are just going to put them in the 6:30 a.m. slot. Fully Charged might not stand a chance there.
I imagine alot of people don't like Mega Man's character art, myself included. I will never judge a show based upon something like that though. Honestly, I doubt I will ever get around to checking it out. My kids wouldn't be into this.
@LArachelDisciple With the way cn schedules everything that isnt teen titans go, its incredible anything else gets a schedule at all. :s
The article thumbnail finally clicked for me! The similar, and unpleasant, sense of deja vu this thing's art style has evoked in me all this time is because it reminds me of Antz...
ANTZ!
@retro_player_22 Reminder that Mighty No. 9 was supposed to have an animated series.
@SmaggTheSmug Maybe it got turn into this cause of Mighty No. 9's bad reputation.
@SmaggTheSmug
I'd watch a MN9 cartoon.
@Bliquid So, I accidentally caught the first episode. My buddy flipped it on in attempts to make me have an aneurysm. It's got this real element of "trying," and it almost adds a certain charm to it, when you consider how skewed it is from it's source material. It could be way less lame if it wanted to be, it just doesn't. Name changes, re-adapted characters, characters that just got the ax, setting changes, quips. (Mega-nize me! ....wtf? Ok, sure.)
