Re: It's Official, Switch 2 Has Sold Over 3.5 Million Units Globally In Its First Four Days

Finntendo

@Truegamer79 It's always been like that with consoles and especially towards Nintendo.
I think it's classic "Nintendo is for little children and we teens and adults are cooler and play consoles that have ADULT games" continued with GRAPHICS. Even gaming has changed a lot since 90s, there are sitll smol and unfortunately loud group that think games are for teen boys and young men only. How Nintendo dares to make games for families and all ages.

(and then they go and try ware Nintendo games)

I have Nintendo consoles for Nintendo games that I do enjoy, like Mario Kart and Zeldas (tho I'd love to have some good car game for Nintendo too, like old Need for Speeds used to be) and then I have PC for everything else.

Re: US Retailers Are Playing With Fire With More Switch 2 Cancellations

Finntendo

@ozwally
Hah, i ordered directly from Nintendo (ships from Germany, had to use UK site to preorder) and when they did..or tried charge last Friday, my bank froze my card and bank said they cannot whitelist it and might happen again.
Moved funds to Paypal, changed method to PayPal before N tries again (and customer service confirmed it should be using PP with another attemp) ....to find out on Sunday that they actually charged my card and didn't got frozen this time!
But either way, yesterday got email ready for shipping..i assume ill get it on Mon-Tue.

Thankfully preorders in Europe haven't meen that much of mess.. if Nordics should " go store and buy local instead of preorder) would mean 150-200€ extra (Switch 2 with MK costs 715€ in Sweden)

As for US and the article itself... Seriously? Is it really that hard to know what they'll get and how much can be preordered? Pretty sure at time of preorders machines for that timeline had already been made...

Re: Poll: Did You Get A Switch 2 Purchase Invite From Nintendo Yet? (Europe)

Finntendo

@Spider-Kev No, at least didn't charge me. I might remember wrong so worth checking and confirming, but I think somewhere read that they normally charge 7-14 days before release but can charge up to 30 days before release so payments go smoothly

Was one of chosed, hardest part was to find how to get my Gmail app links in browser XD (I was at work, haha). After that it went smoothly. Got code instantly, were number 10 in queue, took less than a minute to go to site, choose what I wanted and then proceed to checkout. One of the best hype orders withouth need to scream at screen.

Glad I could order thru the site so I don't have to pay ridicilous Nordics Bergsala fee (100€+)

Re: Where To Pre-Order Nintendo Switch 2

Finntendo

@Late I have to say I loved how smooth the process was with Nintendo.

..now I just hope they won't give me "oops, we unfortunately need to cancel your order"

I also did my order middle of working (shhhh!) so I forgot accessories. But made another order for those.

Re: Where To Pre-Order Nintendo Switch 2

Finntendo

@97alexk

I think it's Bergsala's greed, since Nordics seem to be all suffering from this ridicilous 100--130€ more than anywhere else pricing.

Bergsala - s****ing over nordic nintendoplayers since 1981.

We missed out Club Nintendo with Wii, now we are slapped with ridicilous prices

Re: Mario Kart World's Character Select Screen Teases Absolutely Huge Roster

Finntendo

@nocdaes

heh. I was just talking about this with my husband. In the 90s, SNES game cost - if you just blunty convert prices from back then - it would have been 100€ per game as regular price

I actually used calculator and game costing 599 our local currency back in 1995 would be 169€ today. There was reasons why most of kids only got one game per year, on Christmas.

Ofc selection of games was so, so, so much smaller.

I could score goals in NHL95 without looking the game. Nowadays playing F-Zero99 just brings up all the tricks when playing the orignal as kid.

As for MKW characters. All I need is Piranha Plant. I really dont' want dozen different Marios or Peaches. I want Petey. Or just Piranha Plant.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition Confirmed For Switch

Finntendo

@ottoecamn

Well it's understandable because it's really not that thing in west 12-13 yr olds (or generally preteens/teens) characters having gigantic boobs and extremely tiny clothing. Because you know. They are children. Underage people. There's a term for that stuff here in west.

I have played lots of games with custom characters but if it's missing boobslider.. not really big deal for me. DOes it affect gameplay? No. Does it affect story? No. Character still has lots of features to choose from and clothes to pick from.

...but if you want to live your life sexualising everything in front of your eyes, which seems to be thing nowadays no matter what gender. You do you.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition Confirmed For Switch

Finntendo

@Joeynator3000

Yees. Removing boobslider totally broke the game, gameplay and story. We just cannot play game where we cannot make huge boobs for our female character

/s

It was worthless whine when game was released and it's worthless whine now, it has ZERO affect to the game.

so on that note.. WOO HOOOOO!!!! I also have been waiting this so much! Even it's not same storyline than three others, it's still great. Wonderful to see it on more common console, just surprised it is released this late for Switch's life. Oh well. I take it.

Re: Nintendo Files Two New Lawsuits In Continued Clamp Down On Switch Piracy

Finntendo

@Bluesaxo

Here past few years stores have put up these self checkouts in grocery stores and now those are getting removed in some places because of constant stealing.

Some "smart" lady made HUGE post how she supports stealing BECAUSE PEOPLE STEAL BECAUSE HUNGRY
..guess what are two most stolen items from store? Beer, soda and candy.

(another popular articles are expensive meat parts and parmesan, i highly doubt hungry ppl would snag those as first choice but to sell)

Another phrase is "insurance will cover" No it won't.

And speaking of insuraces, that is another where people justify frauds and get angry at insurance investigators for being unfair and DOES IT REALLY HURT IF SOME POOR SOUL IS PAID... yes it does. BEcause those who do not try to scam will pay higher rates.

I guess lawsuits like here now by Nintendo kinda proves to current trend of people thinking they have only rights but no responsibilities and they NEED to have everything and on someone else's dime.

Go Nintendo!

Re: LEGO Unveils 'Great Deku Tree 2-In-1' Zelda Set, Pre-Orders Now Available

Finntendo

@coolioam
Yeah I was instantly thinking of all Star Wars lego and people calling this overpriced.

Nah. It's in line with LEGOs of different popular franchises. Even basic LEGOs have always been on pricier side.

Too expensive for me? Yes currently. Drop to 199? I probably will buy it then.

I hope..I truly hope Temple of Time will be released one day. Then I can sell my soul and maybe kidney. Also Epona would be great.

Re: Poll: How Often Do You Trade-In Your Switch Games?

Finntendo

I like buy games physical and no I never sell those. First probably closest store to buy games is like...300km away and I have mostly given up selling online. There's one Finnish site that you can actually confirm more reliable buyers but yeah..Generally I have issue of letting go my precious items such as games.

I buy new because at least here preowned aren't that much cheaper if at all. I used to buy more used back in the day when there wasn't easy option to buy games here and I was bit late with consoles (I bought both N64 Zeldas used)

Re: Talking Point: The Games We Got Rid Of - What Were We Thinking?

Finntendo

Being a child of early 90s economic depression, I have problem of letting go of things. Now with other stuff I have managed to cut so no clutter but my games.
I have all we got as family when we were kids. I have Philips G7000 (Magnavox Odyssey2 for you muricans) even idk if it still works. I have SNES and three games for it. Had four, but MY MOTHER decided to give it to one brat visiting and whining to get it because "you are too old for this " (I've reminded her few times, she gets upset) I have checked auctions now and then but have rather bought Amiibos or new games instead replacing that.

IT's about not having things as a kid (because no money) or as youngest, everything was hand me downs. So my things have always been super important. It was time when we luckily got 1 game on christmas and happily played it for years.

One game I have sold. NBA game for GC. I have zero interest for basketball and I got GC and games from my sister.
(I had GB but then I saw Wind Waker bundle as new in our local place that sold Nintendo games. In addition to bundle, I could choose two games. I chose F-Zero and Metroid Prime. THe deal mentioned memory card, it wasn't in it and it was so late in GC lifespan that there was none available. So I got to choose 3rd game. Four Swords it was. So got all that for 80€ and sold new console and threw NBA in it for 45€)

I always look at my game cabinet, and think "I could sell, I never use..." and then I just cannot. No. My games. One day I'll have time and hopefully those will still run. Same goes for my Amiibo Collection. "maybe I should keep this in box... NAH I BOUGHT IT FOR ME"

If I was kid and lived in city, maybe I'd traded/sold games. Just wasn't option here.

I also kept our Pentium 90 as long as it would turn on, so I could play DOS games, needed few tricks to get it running Win95 and then one day nothing helped and I had no means try fix it anymore. With heavy heart I carried it to recycling. Kept the disks.

Everyone has their own thing.

Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 5 Arrives Next Week

Finntendo

WOO HOOO PETEY!

...also pretty traumatic tracks in our family. Koopa Cape, my fave from Wii (loved the music). Once played full 32 track tournament with husband, he ragequit after 31 tracks by turning off the mote which shut down Wii and last track would have been Koopa Cape. I didn't speak to him for few days.

(he did apologise and said he didn't realise it was synced and will turn off the console as well)

Daisy Cruiser. When we started dating, we played Double Dash a lot. Let's juts say there was superstar and the swimming pool in that one corner and idk what he was cussing about....

Re: Talking Point: Is Tears Of The Kingdom The Scariest Zelda Game Ever?

Finntendo

Okay, I am person who doesn't play/watch horror (zombies, aliens, any other similar creeps - no thank you. Plants vs. Zombies is exception) so yes, some parts are awful. I wouldn't call scary but.. gives anxiety. Gloom Hands pretty much so far only tenemy doing so, even Depths in general has heavy athmosphere.

For other Zeldas, the reason why I never replayed TP was the dark atmosphere (and that's why I love WW! It's so bright and cute), to play it was wonderful.

Like others have mentioned before, ReDead screaming in OoT is the horror. But for OoT, the biggest nightmare for me is Forest Temple. I just... can't.... the music....

And Floor Master. I hate, I hate, I hate Floor Master. Probably something to do watching the movie called The Hand in my teens.
And that's why Gloom Hands give me the same creeps when they grab you and squeeze you and you try to run and they are so fast.

I haven't exactly "seen" Frox. Jumped one hole, didn't see anything else except Boss text appearing and then I was dead.
Horriblins, first one was like ugh what just hit me but not a problem after that. But the Trees were much more frightning in the start XD

I also still hate the Blood Moon.

Re: Poll: What's Your Game Plan For Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?

Finntendo

I'll probably try collect everything... but probably will lose patience some point and go forward

(Also if any Finns here and still not bought the game, Gigantti offers 40€ discount if your phone plan is outdated and you update it or switch providers. idk is is this weekend or some general discount for certain period. But discount applies also to the game.)

Re: Poll: Which Was Your First 'Final Fantasy'?

Finntendo

@FredsBodyDouble

haha, I am glad to hear there are others of us (i know two people so far that favour the VIII haha)

I just loved summoning animations, the summons ..I mean who doesn't enjoy nearly two minutes of summoning Eden? XD

I have Man with the Machine Gun as ringtone

Re: Poll: Which Was Your First 'Final Fantasy'?

Finntendo

FF VIII - yes I know it has many flaws but I ADORE the characters and tbh i liked the story. Then came VII and IX and then I got my hands on SNES games.
Yes VII is great as well.
Being european kept me away from the NES/SNES FFs and tbh back then I probably wouldn't have picked them. It was time where we got 1 game on christmas because it was expensive and it just wasnt thing to buy games left and right like we do nowadays. Have played series up to X. Don't have hardware to play the rest (i know some now are in eShop)

As for this FF talk, I saw Pixel Remastered showing up in online store in Finland yesterday. with a wonderful price of 108€ (avail 31st May)

Re: Review: Final Fantasy I-VI Pixel Remaster - A Beautiful And Faithful Reimagining Of The Classics

Finntendo

Leave V on shelf? What is that kind of mad suggestion?

I love the game, even I agree with majority that VI is the best and in my FF world the best.

80€ is way too much, I'd loved physical copy but thanks SE. ...and the fact I have some sort of version of the games on Steam so I really cannot justify myself buing this know because need to buy that Xenoblade DLC and ToTK ofc.

Re: It's Official, SEGA Is Buying Angry Birds Maker, Rovio

Finntendo

@Poco_Lypso
Yeah no matter how many of us console/PC players think mobile platform is stupid and silly and so on, it' is still HUGE market that simply cannot be avoided in today's world.

Rovio has been milking Angry Birds over a decade and those still have some sort of sales. This purchase really sounds like (hopefully) that SEGA comes up with the game idea and Rovio just makes it. Or SEGA takes some of their IPs and Rovio makes it mobile game. Rovio really hasn't been bursting with ideas outside of Birds.

Re: It's Official, SEGA Is Buying Angry Birds Maker, Rovio

Finntendo

@Bunkerneath

Lol they didn't buy Rovio to get Angry Birds. They bought Rovio for their mobile game skills and knowledge of the platform and with that are aiming at mobile games more. You know, they've made plenty of other mobile games besides a zillion versions of Angry Birds
They bought the people to work and develop mobile games, not game franchise (that will ofc come in sale, but wasn't the point)

SEGA buying Rovio is much better news than it being bought by Playtika, that was rumoured earlier this year. Now Rovio may even stay in Finland (hopefully) and not be axed after a year or two, which happens often with mobile game companies buying each other (and Playtika is bit...ugh)

Re: Poll: How Many 3DS Consoles Have You Owned?

Finntendo

I have 3DS XL FE Awakening edition and then I have basic New 3DS with few covers (Majora's Mask and Monado).. I wanted to get LBW edition but it was nightmare to get so I gave up and got basic model (if I waited like a month or two, it would not have been a problem to get LBW in my country)

I could never justify buy more just because of editions. One person can play only just so many... (now we can ask why I do have every possible version of Ocarina of Time...)

Now real question is why I do not have Hello Kitty cover for New 3ds. ...not that I like to chance it but those covers were pretty dang neat

Re: Square Enix Planning "Multiple New Titles" And New IP

Finntendo

@Selim
I just finished Harvestella completely and it certainly has potential to improve. It is a nice game. But it also left lots of "why it cannot do xyz" why cannot you do this and that.

It wasn't in its full potential but I am afraid it did not do well enough there to be 2nd game.

Re: Talking Point: In 2023, Do You Still Care About amiibo?

Finntendo

I think last one I bought was wedding Mario, Peach and Bower because it was sale. I started with buy all, then just what I like. I like them as figurines.

I do need Smolfry in my life, otherwise Splatoon ones have not interested me because there is no characters like Callie and Marie.
And Sepiroth would be nice. And Byleth I am missing. I have not kept up with releases and I think those really are not even available here. It's just those used to be 15€, now those are 25-35€.

Re: Video: We Hereby Declare That 2023 Will Be The Year Of 3DS StreetPass

Finntendo

@Bunkerneath

i still keep my 3ds (or both, lol) with me on travels to entertain me on train/plane. Now ofc few years travels abroad have been non-existing but so was hits last time I travelled D: I was sad. I never really go hits in my country even in cities and my travels abroad were only chance (and ofc somethign like Video Games Live concert or Symphony of the Goddesess concert)

Re: Epic Games To Pay $540 Million Over Allegations Of Privacy Violations And Unwanted Charges

Finntendo

@Hero-of-WiiU

I do agree that if card info is saved, parents can only blame themselves. None of the services force you to save the card info. And parents should be responsible for their kids' messes (which I have always told when I have seen some parent complaning about purchases happening without their knowledge) but then again they are card holders and purchases are made without consent. I do not know how parental locks work with different services, can you ban purchases (ofc best would be not save card info, but then you can be like my cousin and steal their mom's card to buy stuff in game)
And parents should always supervise what kids do and play, even if it's "child's game". With rights come responsibility and minors don't have full rights so they cannot have full responsibilities.

I don't have card info saved even I am close being middle age and no kids.

It's a tricky matter. Card should only be used by owner so use is unauthorized, minors cannot agree to contracts and so on and so on.

Re: Review: FIFA 23 - The Final Whistle Blows On A Legacy Of Disappointment

Finntendo

Time that FIFA kicked out this deal.. just no. Every time I've considered buying one.. just read review and no (well see enough of games in gamefails vids).
TBH the last football game I have played on console was Super Soccer on SNES.

I do follow football, but as a game..? Nah. I was more NHL player.. until it vanished from Nintendo and knowing it has gone same spiral down than FIFA has.
I cannot even imagine how many hundred hours I played NHL95 - could make goals without looking the game. It was times when you got one game per year and you had to be happy with it until next Christmas.

Re: Splatoon 3 Sales Cause Nintendo's Shares To Surge

Finntendo

@roboshort
I don't think sales are bad in west. In my personal experience, I have not seen so many folks playing the same new game on my friendslist since ACNH was released. I have like 15 friends playing Splatoon same time. Even Xenoblade didn't ping that often at release.

Re: Random: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Has Plenty Of Very Memeable Dialogue

Finntendo

@maulinks

I enjoyed first XC and I actually enjoyed X as well. And so far I am enjoying XC3 as well. I don't think I ever finished X, got quite far tho. I'd love see remake.

XC2 the other hand.. I think I've played 10h or so. I found it extremely confusing system and there was something that didn't catch my attention right away like other three..I was just bored from the start. And confused. And didn't like voices, but usually switching voices to japanese help with that issue

Maybe I give it another go when I finish this one.

Re: Random: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Has Plenty Of Very Memeable Dialogue

Finntendo

I feel this isn't only game with such issue...

I have about 23h played, not quite annoyed yet.

With the first Xenoblade it did get to me, maybe it was voice actors? Anyways, for me it was resolved by changing langauge to japanese which was MUCH less annoying (idk why, maybe because I do'n't understand the language so I won't pay attention)

Re: Video: What Was Your First Video Game Ever?

Finntendo

Pick Axe Pete on Philips Videopac G7000 (Magnavox Odyssey² for you muricans). The sounds (beeps) are still easy to recall

After that we got Commodore 64 - Summer and Winter Games. It also had some version of Space Invaders, don't remember the name.

Aaand then SNES with SMW included.
