I don't own a Switch 2, but I'd never want to use a third-party dock out of fear that stability updates would render them unstable. And that would be bad.
@Filthy Since the internet was a thing, obviously.
Getting back on topic... I'm indifferent on this whole anniversary deal. Never cared for RE1, was more into RE2, and the rest of the series has firmly been a "take it or leave it" deal for me.
NSO would probably be the more convenient these days, but I have a Retro AVS thing that I bought a couple years ago to play Famicom carts on... and a top loader... and a couple other clones. I'll alternate.
"Double Dragon gets a modern revival!" That's like... what? The fifth or sixth revival this century?
Also sampling the video is giving me flashbacks to Wander Of The Dragons... and if you don't know what I'm talking about, you're better off not knowing.
Unless I can play it on my screen, this is going to be a hard pass for me. I tried Virtual Boy as a younger fellow and it gave me a headache after five minutes. And I'm afraid even after all this time, I'm somewhat weery of anything involving a heavy piece of plastic on my face, so this is even more of a "thanks but no thanks." A shame, really, because there are some games I'd like to try that look fun.
@GrailUK These days, any old game can be dusted off and considered a classic. For all we know, there are those who have played this and would actually consider this a classic.
I'm not one of them, though. I've never heard of this game, either. I'm just saying...
@mikegwald For the record, my comment was made purely in jest. I am not taking this gamekey stuff as seriously as you seem to think I am. So, all due respect, maybe I'm not the one who has something to "get over." I'm doing just fine, thanks.
Why would anyone be surprised that they're bringing back Bubsy? These people brought back "Plumbers Don't Wear Ties." They'll bring back anything these days.
I had genuinely forgotten that this was even a thing that existed... and soon it will cease to be...
Honestly, I never gave this one much thought. Was never too fond of F2P games of any sort and anything I've seen of Hunters only made me want to play the old Battlefront games instead.
Oh, well... another one bites the dust, I suppose.
@batmanbud2 I think it's mostly due to Nintendo's version being somewhat barebones in the feature set compared to Tengen's version, which had a variety of modes including 2-player gameplay. Even Game Boy had 2-player head-to-head via game link. Personally, I don't have an issue with this version; it's fine, but others have their preference.
It's a short video that demonstrates a game mechanic. No frills. No out of the blue foolishness. Just a plain jane mechanic in action. I found it quite refreshing.
Every company is terrible in their own special way. Therefore, no one should be supporting them on that basis. Other than that, I have no real opinion on the matter.
Collection is great, though. Never cared for the stylus gimmickry of Dawn, so I'm pleased that Magic Seals can be done with button prompts while retaining stylus functionality for those who'd want to keep it authentic and such. Haunted Castle remake also does a fine job of making a jank old arcade title seem much less jank. A nice surprise from Konami, for once.
This isn't going to be another Ninjabread Man/Anubis II/Rock N' Roll Adventures scenario where it's basically the same game under the hood, but they just swapped out the graphics, is it? Because that's what it looks like.
I'm sure the games will be fine since WayForward tends to do good stuff, but the whole thing comes across as interchangeable and generic. Here's hoping that's not actually the case.
Never played a Borderlands game, no real interest in the film, and while I generally wouldn't wish ill on any endeavor, when it comes to anything involving Randy-Bo-Dandy, I won't be shedding any tears in its floppiness.
If you want to use save states, it's fine. If you want to use rewind, it's fine. If you want to do it the old-fashioned way, it's fine. If you want to git gud, it's fine. Your house is not on fire. Everything is fine.
@abbyhitter Considering that's what (almost) everyone else seems to calling it at the moment, might as well stick with "Switch 2" until we get official word on what it's actually going to be called. In the meantime, feel free to call it whatever you want... I call it the Knob.
As far as the article in question is concerned, I'll let things play out and see where it goes.
So I guess Amicovision is no longer a thing. A pity. I was looking forward to such cool jaw-dropping classics like Cornhole or Finnegan Fox*.
In all serious, the most I'm hoping out of this deal is that we get the Intellivision equivalent of an Atari 50 compilation. Not so much for the games, but more for the historical overview so people could about the brand beyond something that was prostituted to sell a bill of goods.
On an unrelated note... can Atari buy Coleco next?
*Yes, I already know about Fox N Forests. It didn't make my jaw drop.
How do you want me to play like 1990 if two out of the three games featured in that event are missing? This makes me very mildly irritated. half-heartedly shakes fist
Other than that, looks alright. I'll probably stick with NES Remix, but this might be enticing to some other folks.
@LadyCharlie It's worse on PC, which is a baffling 70GB (approximately). And the visual quality isn't any better than the old PC versions, which are still available for purchase on Steam or GOG for far cheaper, take up less space, and they still play wonderfully.
Sure, you don't have the extra maps and Hero Assault is relegated to a map or two, but that extra stuff simply didn't warrant the extra bloat. I love me some Battlefront and the more the merrier, but I'm more than content with the old PC versions.
Maybe I'll get the Switch version when it's on the cheap somewhere down the line, but right now, this deal is very bad and I'm glad to NOT be a part of it.

What? No "His eyes are blue. Therefore, he sucks" option? For shame...
Other than that... it looks like Yoshi. Good enough for me.

Re: Feature: Who Is Devon Pritchard? - Meet The Next NOA President Stepping Into Bowser's Boots

People still ask about Mother 3, do they? I haven't been keeping up.

Re: Dragon Quest VII Gets Reimagined For Switch And Switch 2 In Early 2026
@abe_hikura I hate that I've had the PS1 original for years and never found to give a good playthrough. I ought to do that one of these days.
Missed out on the 3DS redo, but maybe I'll dip into this one down the road.
Oh, and "Game Key Card. Grrrr..." and all that while shaking fist before moving on with my day.
