Nintendo please don’t ever remove these games from NSO, even after the successor consoles of Switch 2 are available. I would like to have permanent access to these games.

I give up, not going to stay up all night for this. Nintendo said there will be plenty in stock for launch, yeah right.

This is a bit off topic but how do physical game collectors usually manage their collections in Japan given the average Japanese home is small? I am running out of shelf and ideal storage space and my home is bigger than the average Japanese home (2,200 square feet).

Honestly, I don’t think this is a good thing for consumers. Nintendo has a bad habit of being arrogant and anti-consumer when their consoles are performing well.

I’m more concerned they will raise the price if I can’t get one at launch.

I hope NSO stays on forever, at least for the rest of my life so I don’t have to feel sad when all the games are pulled when they discontinue it.

It adds up when you buy multiple accessories. I guess the tax cuts will cover the price increase lol.

I hope if they do increase the price, throw in a game or an accessory to soften the blow.

Agreed, I play retro Nintendo games on both Wii U and 3DS more than on any other Nintendo systems. Although the NSO made improvements over the VC with extra save states, online multiplayer and dedicated classic controllers, the lack of purchase option makes me reluctant to put as many hours into save files since they will be lost once NSO shuts down in the future. I wish Nintendo would follow Sony’s example and give us the option to purchase or play for free with subscription.

I love the Wii U, and the sole reason is the virtual console. It offers the best games from almost all Nintendo consoles except GameCube with GBA and DS games too. I played so many retro Nintendo games on the Wii U VC. Sure right now the Switch and soon Switch 2 has a lot of retro titles on NSO but one day they will be all gone once the Switch consoles are obsolete and NSO gets discontinued since we don’t have the option to buy the games. It doesn’t look like this will change under Switch 2.

Thank you Trump for the tariffs making cost of living higher, for the cuts in government services to subsidize a tax cut for billionaires, for the stock market correction, we are living in a golden age indeed.

A little bit surprised there are still so many people who have money to spend (Referring to US) in an era of high inflation, looming additional tariffs and reports of so many American families living paycheck to paycheck with little to no savings. I guess there are still enough people not in this category that gaming consoles like the Switch 2 still gets sold out immediately.

I hope not, I’m not rebuying the same controllers again for a new system. Already have done that for the games on virtual console when Wii U launched.

We need Final Fantasy Mystical Quest to get a re-release!

I got the Japan region import physical Switch copy. Is the English option text in the game identical to the US version?

I hope it’s not like Mother 2 30th anniversary celebration where there was no re-release announced.

I want a pixel remaster of the original Chrono Trigger.

Weren’t GameCube and for the first few years Wii discs were made in USA? What happened? Also, Nintendo Switch carts are made in Japan and so far Japanese imports haven’t been hit with tariffs.

When the Switch launched, gamers were not happy about buying the same games multiple times on virtual console and apparently some asked for a subscription style access and Nintendo gave us NSO. Now many gamers want a purchase option. Maybe Nintendo will look at this feedback and announce a purchase option to NSO when they show the Switch 2?

Actually not true on you won’t get your downloads back if the Wii/ Wii U breaks. You can still transfer your account to another console and redownload your purchases but can’t buy games that were on the closed eshop anymore.

Unfortunately Nintendo is stubborn and doesn’t listen to what customers want. If they did, we would have the option to buy retro games off NSO, Mother 3 would be released in the west and Gen 1-3 Pokemon games would be available to buy on the Switch by now.

Why don’t they offer people a chance to buy it before removing it?

The opening for Pokemon Champions made me think for a moment that they were going to announce the retro Pokemon re-release.

I wonder if classic GB, GBC and GBA main Pokemon games will ever get released on Switch/ Switch 2.

There’s a rumor of Pokémon compilation Gen 1-3 coming out to be revealed at Pokemon Presents. I guess it’s most likely to be fake?

Someone needs to ask Nintendo about a purchase option for NSO classic games in one of the investor meetings.

So Nintendo was aware of the complaint about buying virtual console games multiple times so they did the subscription for retro games access on the Switch. I’m sure Nintendo is aware of complaints of lack of purchase options. Do you think they will respond by adding a purchase option to the retro games for Switch 2?

I loved Link to the Past and all the NES, SNES and N64 Mario and Zelda games. For some reason, the modern Mario and Zelda games failed to capture the magic of the classic entries. I really wish they made a second Zelda game on the Super NES.

It’s time to party like it’s 2010 again to sink in the nostalgia of Donkey Kong Country Returns when the Wii and DS were still in stores, virtual console was still available and Bitcoin was less than $1.

I don’t understand why Nintendo doesn’t add a purchase option to the retro games that Sony and Microsoft has? Even Capcom added the option for Resident Evil and Dino Crisis after they were initially behind a subscription paywall. Is there a chance a purchase option will be available on the Switch 2?

I rather Nintendo just re-release the original Game Boy with the most popular games or do a classic edition.

RIP virtual console. I miss the option to buy old retro games on modern consoles.

Did anyone find Order of Ecclesia difficult compared to the other DS and GBA castlevania games? Grind to level 14 and still can’t beat the giant skeleton. Maybe I’m just terrible at this game.

If Sony is giving players a choice to buy their retro games or play them under a subscription, why can’t Nintendo offer the same option?

I loved the Super Mario Bros. super show. I personally think it’s much better than the Mario movie.

The four save states option will make the game much less frustrating and more playable. The only reason I was able to finish DK64 was with the save state option on the Wii U virtual console.

It happened to me too. I read you have to save and reset the game once in a while to avoid this issue.

Switch isn’t the first system to have both M&L and PM on the same system. 3DS had both.

Can’t believe Sony tried to backstab Nintendo in the deal. I thought Japanese companies don’t tend to do that.

As long as they are getting re-released I will be happy. I prefer to purchase it anyway, don’t want my Pokemon and badges to disappear when Nintendo eventually ends NSO. I don’t think they will sell them for $7.99. Since the virtual console version was $9.99 it will be at least that price if not higher.
