Re: Prominent YouTuber Doubles Down On Belief That A Nintendo Direct Is Due This Month

Don

We should give Nate the Hate credit for being correct on Direct dates so many times. At least he doesn’t make up fake info like so many “leakers” do. Two of these immediately come to mind are whoever said they will announce a Pokemon Memories and Reminisce retro collection and years ago at Switch 1 launch Laura Kate Dale falsely reported Mother 3 will be coming out on the Switch.

Re: Pokémon Presents July 2025: Every Announcement, Full Livestream

@SakuraHaruka
I honestly wouldn’t get my hopes up. A lot of us were so sure we will get Metroid Prime 2 and 3 HD before Prime 4 and nothing was announced, even during Prime 2’s 20th anniversary last November. Final Fantasy 9’s 25th anniversary came and went with no remake announcement that so many of us were hoping to get. Zelda Wind Waker and Twilight Princess HD never came on Switch either. I would be pleasantly surprised but not counting on it.

Re: My Nintendo Store Adds A New Donkey Kong Bananza Reward (North America)

Don’t have enough points even though I purchased a lot of physical games and recently Switch 2 console. Are the points only for digital purchases? I don’t see any codes to redeem for points in my physical game boxes or Switch 2 console. I know back in the 3DS days they had the codes in the game boxes.

@Alienfanatic
I think both PD and B-K can be successful if they take the franchise into new directions. Zelda is now an open world game and instead of collecting triforce pieces or medallions. The new PD game looks like it is taking the series into a new and better direction. Although this attempt didn’t always work, B-K Nuts and Bolts failed but I always thought of that game as a side Banjo game like Mario Kart instead of a main entry.

If Microsoft doesn’t want to make more Perfect Dark or Banjo Kazooie, why not sell the IPs or sell Rareware? The only real good thing Microsoft did with these franchises was releasing the remastered versions with added features on Xbox Live and included them in Rare Replay.

Re: Japanese Charts: Switch 2 Crushes PS2 To Become Fastest-Selling Console Ever

@Galaxy2IsTheGOAT
For me the best Mario games were from the NES to N64 era. I especially loved Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World. The Mario games over the past 20 years are good but feels like they reused too many things from past games, even the music constantly gets reused in the New Super Mario Bros games. I hope we get some Mario games with new enemies, Bowser and his Koopa gang are used way too many times. I wouldn’t mind if they make a sequel to Super Mario Bros. 2 and bring back enemies like Wart, Mouser, Phantos and Fryguy from that game.

This comment will be frowned upon but it actually disturbs me that Mario Kart is selling very well. This means $80 will likely be the standard price for first party Nintendo games going forward and they might even test waters with $85-$90 MSRP. Nintendo is not exactly a consumer friendly company and they tend to become arrogant when they are at the height of success. I don’t want Nintendo to fail or lose money but at the same time it might not be good for consumers if they are too successful.

Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's Game Boy Library With Four More Titles

To the folks who want the older Pokemon games on NSO or Switch, I feel your pain. Best hope comes next February for 30th anniversary since they re-released Gen 1 on virtual console during 20th anniversary. If not, maybe shareholders who attend meetings should bombard Nintendo president on the re-release. Maybe he’s not aware of the high demand for the re-release.

Re: Nintendo Renews A Couple Of Metroid Prime Trademarks

Don

I hope Nintendo would be “kind enough” to re-release The Other M. I know it was poorly received but I never played much of it and my Wii is disconnected and would love to play the entire game to see what the complaints were. The game always intrigued me due to it showing Zero Suit Samus without finishing the game with a good ending.

Re: Talking Point: Zelda: Wind Waker Is On Switch 2 - Do You Still Want A WW:HD Port?

Don

@Banjo-
Agreed, I play retro Nintendo games on both Wii U and 3DS more than on any other Nintendo systems. Although the NSO made improvements over the VC with extra save states, online multiplayer and dedicated classic controllers, the lack of purchase option makes me reluctant to put as many hours into save files since they will be lost once NSO shuts down in the future. I wish Nintendo would follow Sony’s example and give us the option to purchase or play for free with subscription.

Re: Talking Point: Zelda: Wind Waker Is On Switch 2 - Do You Still Want A WW:HD Port?

Don

I love the Wii U, and the sole reason is the virtual console. It offers the best games from almost all Nintendo consoles except GameCube with GBA and DS games too. I played so many retro Nintendo games on the Wii U VC. Sure right now the Switch and soon Switch 2 has a lot of retro titles on NSO but one day they will be all gone once the Switch consoles are obsolete and NSO gets discontinued since we don’t have the option to buy the games. It doesn’t look like this will change under Switch 2.

Re: Switch 2 Pre-Orders Expected To Sell Out "Day One" Due To Limited Unit Allocation

Don

A little bit surprised there are still so many people who have money to spend (Referring to US) in an era of high inflation, looming additional tariffs and reports of so many American families living paycheck to paycheck with little to no savings. I guess there are still enough people not in this category that gaming consoles like the Switch 2 still gets sold out immediately.
