Re: Nintendo Renews Trademarks For 3DS And Wii U Games

@Grumblevolcano
I ordered the expensive virtual boy replica but feel the games should be included with the accessory. Both the NES and Super NES classic edition sold for less at $60 with 30 games and $80 with 21 games. I miss the era of mini consoles.

Re: Sega Gives Japanese Employees "Peace Of Mind" With Another Salary Raise

Given the choice I take the long hours for job security. Maybe it’s just the grass looks a lot prettier on the other side but when I hear about other countries with much better job security, universal healthcare and college, employment benefits such as longer paid leave and vacation, and much better retirement benefits, it seems the middle class lives better in most other developed countries (At least not having to worry about medical bills or out of control tuition costs). I know the taxes are high in many of these countries with “socialism” but I live in New Jersey and the taxes here are very high. After seeing the middle class being continually worse off, I question whether “socialism” is just a word used by politicians to scare the general public in order to allow the wealthy to deny benefits for services that don’t favor them.

Sega does what American corporations don’t. The Japanese corporate culture is definitely better with lifetime employment where employees are considered family compared to US companies where they operate under at will employment and constantly throw employees under the bus just to beat an earnings quarter so the CEOs can get richer.

Re: Anniversary: SNES Action RPG 'Terranigma' Is 30 Years Old Today, And It's Still A 10/10 In Our Book

Back in the day, Europe used to get the short end of the stick. Now North American gamers get the short end due to pretty much all of the games including the older Final Fantasy, Super Mario RPG and Earthbound that were released in America but not in Europe are now officially released in Europe but classic games like Terranigma and Doshin the Giant still haven’t been released in North America.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Patent Supposedly Points To Return Of DS Games

I struggled getting past the song playing with mic part in Spirit Tracks. I wonder if they will make it easier. Also, as much as I want DS games, they should slow down a bit on new systems. We barely got any GameCube games and still no main retro Pokemon games. Also I hope they don’t just disable everything when they eventually end the NSO like when they ended the virtual console after adding so many retro games.

Re: Poll: So, Did You Get Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 For Switch?

Don

I bought it day 1 and I did the same for Mario 3D All Stars. I support re-releases/ remasters of classic games. I’m glad Nintendo has been remastering GameCube and Wii games. I hope they continue doing this and Nintendo Classics access via NSO will not stop this pattern. For everyone who wants the virtual console back, this is as close as we get to buying classic Nintendo games.

Re: Virtual Boy Is Being Added To Nintendo Switch Online

Don

My biggest complaint is when one day they discontinue the NSO/ Nintendo Classics, all the accessories we bought (Virtual Boy accesory, GameCube, N64 controllers etc) will be useless relics since there’s no option to buy the games.

Re: Anniversary: Paper Mario First Unfolded On N64 25 Years Ago

Don

I remember this game was originally announced as Super Mario RPG 2/ Super Mario RPG 64 then as Super Mario Adventure. There was a few years between the initial announcement right before N64 launch until the first screen shot which came as a big surprise because I was expecting a full 3D RPG with 3D characters like Super Mario RPG. But the game exceeded my expectations and was one of my favorite N64 games. As for feeling old yet, I certainly do but I think most of the folks here were born after this game came out.
