@Pillowpants Agreed, this year is the best chance for it to happen. I will be optimistic given they re-released the Gen 1 games on 3DS for the 20th anniversary.
I couldn’t even survive the first phase of Sylux battle on casual mode. Is there a way to cheese the entire battle? I put in 25 hours into the game and don’t want to end up not able to finish it.
@Retrodouche Thanks, will keep that in mind. I played through both GBA Fire Emblem games on the virtual console and on NSO. Am curious to see where this game ranks compared to the GBA games.
I think Prime 2 and 3 will both be released on NSO and not as a remaster. The Wii and DS games will most likely eventually be added to NSO and I expect Prime 2 and 3, Prime Hunters and Other M will all be added in the next few years.
Is there a way to send new weapons to storage in this game? In the first chapter Ike maxed out and I had to toss a weapon. Also is there a rewind option in the GameCube app games?
@Bass_X0 I’m curious as to whether they will release the first Metroid Prime game since it’s already on the Switch. If they do, I hope they release Prime 2 first.
@Uncle_Franklin
Nintendo rep: (Bows deeply) Please consider buying a Switch 2 to enjoy additional titles on your current premium subscription. To get the authentic experience, we recommend buying a GameCube controller accessory for $70.
@Grumblevolcano I ordered the expensive virtual boy replica but feel the games should be included with the accessory. Both the NES and Super NES classic edition sold for less at $60 with 30 games and $80 with 21 games. I miss the era of mini consoles.
I know this sounds like a joke by now but I hope they prioritize Mother 3 before this game for localization. And I would be interested in buying this game if it ever gets localized.
For $100, the VB games should have been included with the accessory. NES classic edition for $60 had 30 games and SNES for $80 had 21 games included. I wish they put back the suits in charge back when the mini consoles were launched instead of the anti consumer board members in charge at Nintendo today.
@sportymariosonicmixx
Given the choice I take the long hours for job security. Maybe it’s just the grass looks a lot prettier on the other side but when I hear about other countries with much better job security, universal healthcare and college, employment benefits such as longer paid leave and vacation, and much better retirement benefits, it seems the middle class lives better in most other developed countries (At least not having to worry about medical bills or out of control tuition costs). I know the taxes are high in many of these countries with “socialism” but I live in New Jersey and the taxes here are very high. After seeing the middle class being continually worse off, I question whether “socialism” is just a word used by politicians to scare the general public in order to allow the wealthy to deny benefits for services that don’t favor them.
Sega does what American corporations don’t. The Japanese corporate culture is definitely better with lifetime employment where employees are considered family compared to US companies where they operate under at will employment and constantly throw employees under the bus just to beat an earnings quarter so the CEOs can get richer.
@Ralek85 I’m curious what the end game will be for NSO. Surely they have to have another retro games access service in place before they shut down the NSO similar to they had the NSO/ expansion pak before they took down the virtual console.
If they want to make up for the sales gap between Z-A and Arceus they could re-release the classic Gen 1-3 Pokemon games for purchase but for some odd reason they don’t do it.
Back in the day, Europe used to get the short end of the stick. Now North American gamers get the short end due to pretty much all of the games including the older Final Fantasy, Super Mario RPG and Earthbound that were released in America but not in Europe are now officially released in Europe but classic games like Terranigma and Doshin the Giant still haven’t been released in North America.
I struggled getting past the song playing with mic part in Spirit Tracks. I wonder if they will make it easier. Also, as much as I want DS games, they should slow down a bit on new systems. We barely got any GameCube games and still no main retro Pokemon games. Also I hope they don’t just disable everything when they eventually end the NSO like when they ended the virtual console after adding so many retro games.
@Coalescence They can still allow us to buy the retro games off of NSO if they want to. Sony allows gamers to buy PS1 and PS2 games that are also accessible via a subscription.
I bought it day 1 and I did the same for Mario 3D All Stars. I support re-releases/ remasters of classic games. I’m glad Nintendo has been remastering GameCube and Wii games. I hope they continue doing this and Nintendo Classics access via NSO will not stop this pattern. For everyone who wants the virtual console back, this is as close as we get to buying classic Nintendo games.
Is Nintendo moving to remastering Wii games and stops remastering GameCube games? Lately they been remastering Wii titles including DKC Returns, Kirby Return to Dream Land and of course Mario Galaxy 1 and 2. The last GameCube remaster release was over a year ago when they released Paper Mario Thousand Year Door.
My biggest complaint is when one day they discontinue the NSO/ Nintendo Classics, all the accessories we bought (Virtual Boy accesory, GameCube, N64 controllers etc) will be useless relics since there’s no option to buy the games.
I remember this game was originally announced as Super Mario RPG 2/ Super Mario RPG 64 then as Super Mario Adventure. There was a few years between the initial announcement right before N64 launch until the first screen shot which came as a big surprise because I was expecting a full 3D RPG with 3D characters like Super Mario RPG. But the game exceeded my expectations and was one of my favorite N64 games. As for feeling old yet, I certainly do but I think most of the folks here were born after this game came out.
