Re: Nintendo Is Making Female Characters Cover Up For The Western Version Of Xenoblade Chronicles X

DefHalan

I am surprised there has been so much discussion about something that equates to almost nothing. It doesn't change gameplay or story, just an optional character skin. This was a business decision and most likely related to the age rating which that wanted for the product. If you were buying this product for this one feature, then there are other products you might be more interested in.

@XCWarrior I too own tons of Indie Wii U and 3DS games. There are some fantastic games out there.

EA, Activision, and Ubisoft are mainly publishers. Most of the games they "flood" the market with are games they are publishing which is different. RCMADIAX is a developer. RCMADIAX isn't paying a bunch of people to release a bunch of different games. They are paying themselves to release these games. I don't know how large RCMADIAX is, if it is only 1 person like it seems to be or if they are a team of people. They have released something like 9 games in 2 years. That is crazy fast. I feel that is too fast to make quality products. They need to slow down and make something of quality. Blok Drop U is probably his most popular game but I don't think a single release from RCMADIAX since Blok Drop U has matched it quality.

If Profit is just making more money than you put into developing a product then I can defiantly see how all his games are profitable, I do not think he spent that much on actual development. But is RCMADIAX making enough to pay all its employees a fair wage? Do RCMADIAX employees make as much a year as other indie companies? I don't know. So how much Profit is RCMADIAX making after paying wages?

If RCMADIAX wants to fix their image then they need to take all this profit they have made from their 9 other games and put that towards making 1 quality release. Rather than releasing 9 games in two years for a few bucks each, how about they make 1 quality game in that amount of time and sell it for $10. I know indie development can be expensive and time consuming (the reason I haven't released anything) but if they are making profit why do RCMADIAX games drop in quality and scope compared to their original release Blok Drop U.

I want to give RCMADIAX a shot. I want them to do well but flooding the market with these small games is not the way to improve.

@XCWarrior Flooding a digital shop refers to releasing multiple sub-par products in a short amount of time. If he has made profit on every game he has sold, then I wonder what he defines profit as. Also I wonder why he got mad at the Nintendo fanbase and claimed he was going to stop releasing games on Wii U. If he was making profit then why would he turn his backs on his audience?

@Kaze_Memaryu They are generally considered cheap but it would have been a better value for everyone to release 1 game collection compared to releasing each of those games separately. Reviews for about a third of his games have been decent. I think people would purchase a cheap game collection and been happy with the third of games being decent. Instead he floods the market with products no one wants and drags his name through the mud.

Re: Voice Actors Union Authorises Strike Action With Landslide 96.52 Percent Vote

I am hoping that after this developers demand more respect from publishers. If publishers/developers are going to have to treat voice actors (which is a small part of the overall development of a product) with more respect then developers should be able to demand more respect from publishers. This could be the door opening to a new games infustry, an industry where people are actually valued for their work and not just thrown out like trash after a project is completed. I don't understand why the Game Industry has formed unions.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Dismissal of Chris Prangar Highlights Issues With Company Culture

Don't bite the hand that feeds you. You can't expect to speak poorly about important people in the company and keep your job. It isn't about "issues with company culture" it is just about how you present yourself especially when representing a company. I would like to know if he got permission to appear on this Podcast or if the "laxed" rules change made him think he didn't need to ask for permission. I would never want to represent a company without direct permission from some of the top people in a company.
