A new trailer has emerged for the forthcoming 3DS port of the popular Wii U title Hyrule Warriors.
This new Hyrule Warriors Legends clip shows Toon Link and Tetra - both taken from Wind Waker - as well as the King of Hyrule. It also gives a Japanese release date of January 21st, 2016.
The western launch is still undecided, but we assume it won't be much after that date. Have a look at the trailer and let us know your thoughts.

I have to say I am really looking forward to Hyrule Warriors Legends after seeing the new trailer, even if I have Hyrule Warriors for Wii U .
That Remixed Wind Waker music really goes straight in to my heart ^^.
(Hopefully we can transfer some information like levels over to the 3DS version).
You can see that the character intro screens and cut scenes are like they would be on the Wii U, so theme being transferable seem very likely.
Great.I think this is also saying a direct could be soon at least in NA and PAL.
A few musts:
1) Transferrable character level, weapon data.
2) One new Adventure Mode using Wind Waker.
3) Valloo, Medli, Makar as a playable character.
I'm either going to wait for a used copy, or hope the DLC comes out on Wii U.
Make a Lana and Cia amiibo
Well, I can say one thing for sure, I'm not buying this game again so if the content on the 3DS is not on the Wii u version, at least as a DLC, then I won't ever get to play that content. I made the mistake of buying both the 3DS and Wii U version of Smash, I won't be doing that with this game or any other game.
Does anybody know if it's been confirmed to have 3d in it? If not I just may pass it up since I already have the Wii U version. Oh and it would seem the U version is due for a price cut!
i'm getting this. already have it preordered. I never got the Wii U version and I doubt I will before this comes out.
@Spoony_Tech im not aware of any 3DS games that arent 3D.
I'd love to get this, but the one thing missing for me is multiplayer support! Online would probably be too much of an ask given that it wasn't in the original, but local play would have been really nice.
@ikki5 How was that a mistake? Smash Run >>>> Smash Tour. Portable. Different stages.
@abbyhitter
Yes but smash run, few states and the fact that it is portable was enough to justify an extra $50+, at least for me. The portable really means nothing to me except being able to play in different locations round the house but the Wii U will allow that... to an extend so portable is nothing to me. If i am out and about, I am not likely to take my 3DS with me because when I go out, I am doing what I went out to do, not to play games.
@russellohh Well for starters the new Final Fantasy Explorers won't be. A good portion of X/Y didn't and what was there made it unplayable. There's been a few eshop games as well and other retail games that escape my mind right now.
Glad I waited (was waiting on a 1/2 off sale anyway since I never pay full price for Warrior titles) for the portable GOTY edition. All of my friends and ffamily have 3DSs as well and not Wii Us and four of them are buying this game. Yeah, its not HD but its still looks good for what it is. Hopefully they program some N3DS improvements (better textures and framerate) like MH4 did.
@russellohh @Spoony_Tech BOXBOY! and Dragon Quest VIII for 3DS come to mind, too.
Every 3DS Warriors title has included 3D, there's no reason this game couldn't.
@TheWPCTraveler Also just remembered SMT DS Overclocked had like 3% 3d in it. The other 97% had none.
I wonder if those three new characters are the only new ones included.
@TheWPCTraveler Every DragonQuest is on iPhone and Android, but UGH i wish 7 was on 3DS....
I did enjoyed The Wii U version, but I'll not buy this game again for "more DLC". Although if they put the extra content on the Wii U as DLC I'll gladly pay for it.
I'm tempted to buy it, even though I've already spent upwards of 50 hours on the Wii U version. I like the story mode but I think the adventure mode gets really irritating after a while.
Wishful thinking but get the Oracle guys in there?
I hope they release all the new content for the Wii U version as DLC, because while I love the original, I have zero desire to play through those hundreds of hours again in an inferior version (lower res, smaller screen, MUCH less enemies on-screen, lack of a real control stick etc.).
That said, I'd be all over the new stuff as paid DLC - I'm not going to act as if owning the original gives me some sort of right to get new content for free.
....I really rather just get it for the Wii U, even if it was paid DLC. 3DS version just seems like a watered down port.
I am starting to think the 3DS version might have enough unique content to justify its purchase but I would like confirmation. I finally completed the Hyrule Warriors story, not I just have the extra DLC stories to go lol
I still want to see Nabooru, Ashei, and maybe Skull Kid.
And Amiibos out of ALL of them!
Is anyone sure the release date won't be that much later? Yoshi's Woolly World came out in July in Japan, June in other territories. We're still waiting for it here in North America. I wouldn't be too surprised if Hyrule Warriors Legends was a May release.
I assume that Japanese text says I have to get the 3DS version of this game to have Toon Link on the Wii U?
Never got the Wii U version, but I could see getting this game on 3DS!
@ikki5 But you should be taking your 3DS with you for the StreetPass hits if nothing else. Anyway, getting both versions of "Super Smash Bros." was worth it for me (plus I got that cool CD set for doing so), but I can understand those who would prefer not to double dip, and with the kind of game "Hyrule Warriors" is, I can definitely see how the action would be much better on the big screen in this case.
I am up for some more Hyrule Warriors.
The King of Hyrule is not exactly news. The proper name is the King of Red Lions and he was announced with Tetra in the leaked E3 trailer, and officially at E3 a couple of days later in the English version of the trailer. Toon Link is the only new revelation here.
@Tsurii you'll probably be able to buy it as straight dlc for the Wii U version, but the 3ds version will come with a code to get it for free on Wii U, that's my guess anyway, we won't know for sure until we get more details
