Re: Feature: The Rise Of 'Scam Games' And 'Keyword Bingo' Firms Flooding Switch eShop

DanijoEX-The-Kumiho

Huh...come to the think of it...I don't think I've ever played ANY of these "scam" games. But I'm very familiar with "shovelware" games. And it became very common throughout the 7th mid-generation. PSN (mostly PSP) & the Wii/DSi shop were quite flooded with those types of games. Can't say much for Xbox Live.

Even Steam has this issue. Online storefronts need serious quality control at this point. If nothing is done, this problem is only gonna grow bigger & bigger...

Re: Review: Tiny Thor - A Neo-Retro Delight That Feels Like A Lost Genesis Game

DanijoEX-The-Kumiho

I don't mean to sound like a critic, purist, or anything...but this game certainly looks like it could fit being a 32X, GBA, Saturn, PSX, Atari Jaguar, ect. That said, I still consider this as a 32-bit.

But then, when you consider the 32x is an attachment/extension of the Genesis, I guess it does have the excuse to try emulating the feel of a Mega Drive game.

P.S. I'm getting tired of saying "Genesis" even though that's the name the system went by in the US...

I was interested in this but having loose control is problem for me. 2D platformers need to have good, precise controls. That to me is an requirement.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of Pikmin 1+2 On Switch

DanijoEX-The-Kumiho

I don't REALLY care if these run at 30 fps as long as it's stable. I've played the GC versions and they ran fine. The Only reason why I didn't buy the Wii ports of Pikimin 1&2 was that:

1.I could play the GC ver. of 1&2 on the Wii GC backwards compatibility.

2. The GC versions themselves were already cheap at the time when the Wii ports were out. So it didn't makes sense for me to waste spending $40 on the Wii ports of the same games.

I'll pick the Switch physical release around Christmas or so.

Re: Video: We Spread Some Love For The Sega Master System As Alex Shares His Childhood Games

DanijoEX-The-Kumiho

I really wish i did grew up with playing the Sega Master System. Sonic, Phantasy Star, & few others aside, i did like that one particular Castlevania-style game, Master of Darkness, made by Sega themselves.

I didn't get very far due to me not having to play it before. Plus, I want to play Ys: Vanished Omens at some point. The Master System may not have had alot of RPGs, but I thought many of them were far more interesting than the NES rpgs.

Re: Shantae's Cancelled Game Boy Advance Project 'Risky Revolution' Is Being Revived

DanijoEX-The-Kumiho

I would love to get this but with Limited Run Games...Hm, gonna have to think about it for awhile.

In terms of actually "playing" this, I do have the OG "Phat" DS, if ya'll love to call it that. But for me, it's the OG DS. Anyways...it can play GBA games with no problem.

But WayForward can simply release the game itself on the Eshop & other online storefronts. And THEN do the GBA cartridge release later. It's sensible that way.

Re: Talking Point: What Makes A Good Sidequest, Anyway?

DanijoEX-The-Kumiho

I think the only game I've played that put much of the backstory and behind-the-scenes in quests was Phantasy Star Online Ep.1.

Some of them introduce you to some of the characters, few are stand-alone quest, & then there are the ones that have a huge bearing the main plot itself.

Phantasy Star Zero kinda did this but to a much lesser extent.

Re: Best Game Gear Sonic Games, Ranked By You

DanijoEX-The-Kumiho

I find it really disturbing to see Sonic Chaos ranked a smidge low. To me, it's a very competent 8-bit game in it's own right. I do prefer the Master System versions of Sonic 1, 2, & Chaos. But I stay away from Triple Trouble, as it's really not my favorite.

Re: Review: Sonic Origins Plus - Not Bad, But Sonic Still Deserves Better

DanijoEX-The-Kumiho

I've would've been THIS close to buying Origins Plus. But after hearing that the "Plus" content wouldn't be on disc/cart had done it for me. After this, Sonic Superstars will be the last Sonic I'll ever buy from SEGA.

And I do think the score is justified. Sega could've added more than just the bare minimum. Like the lack of a CRT filter, for instance. I'm just gonna stick with Sonic Jam.

Re: Feature: The One Thing Wii Did Much Better Than Switch

DanijoEX-The-Kumiho

I do...well...kinda. What I DO NOT MISS is the freakishly' long cord of the Sensor bar. Though could've been alleviated if I bought the cordless one. But at the time when I got my first Wii, the wireless/cordless variety didn't exist yet until 2 years later.

As for the motion aiming, I didn't really have any issues aside from having to position the Sensor Bar itself. It was much easier to place it on my CRT TV than my HD TV.

Do I miss it? Well...yes...and no. To put it simply: 50% miss it, 50% not miss it.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 24th)

DanijoEX-The-Kumiho

Just playing Sonic Jam, Astal, Tetris Plus, & Clockwork Knight on my Saturn.

Rayman Origins & Lumines: Electronic Symphony on Vita. Tamagotchi Corner Shop: 1, 2, & 3 on my DS/3DS. Sonic Mania on PS4

And that's about it really. I'd be playing Sonic Origins Plus already if not for the fact of how SEGA handle it & Sonic Jam being the better compilation of which I already have. Why spend $40 then?

Re: Review: Batsugun Saturn Tribute Boosted - The Best Home Release Of Toaplan's Final Shmup

DanijoEX-The-Kumiho

I'm amazed they even bothered emulating the Saturn version rather than the arcade ver. Considering that Saturn emulation is still iffy...(at least to me). But I'll be glad to be proven wrong though.

Most of the time, when shmups get ported to consoles & PC, most companies just go for the arcade versions to make things easier.

Now if we can get a modern Parodius compilation from Konami, that'll be nice.

Re: Mortal Kombat 1's Switch Port Developers Have Been Revealed

DanijoEX-The-Kumiho

@Tempestryke Either to ease the workload or to have more time to focus on other projects. Or...whatever reason there is for it.

It always have been a standard thing in the game industry for years. So it's a kinda of a tradition for most.

Take Earthworm Jim 2, for example. While Shiny Entertainment developed the game for Geneses & SNES. Screaming Pink developed the Saturn & PSX ver. While Rainbow Arts handled porting it to MS-DOS.

Mind you, this is just ONE example.
