@Anti-Matter It's the same case here in the US just with the case of price. It's also the only reason why i'm getting the Switch release of Pikmin 1&2.
I'm just not dropping $200+ for Pikimin 2 whether it's the GC or Wii version.
I don't REALLY care if these run at 30 fps as long as it's stable. I've played the GC versions and they ran fine. The Only reason why I didn't buy the Wii ports of Pikimin 1&2 was that:
1.I could play the GC ver. of 1&2 on the Wii GC backwards compatibility.
2. The GC versions themselves were already cheap at the time when the Wii ports were out. So it didn't makes sense for me to waste spending $40 on the Wii ports of the same games.
I'll pick the Switch physical release around Christmas or so.
@Sambuc Gonna be realistic here...even that option isn't feasible for everyone, you know. Especially considering the price & cost of 2nd copies of certain games that well in the $80-200 range.
I really wish i did grew up with playing the Sega Master System. Sonic, Phantasy Star, & few others aside, i did like that one particular Castlevania-style game, Master of Darkness, made by Sega themselves.
I didn't get very far due to me not having to play it before. Plus, I want to play Ys: Vanished Omens at some point. The Master System may not have had alot of RPGs, but I thought many of them were far more interesting than the NES rpgs.
I would love to get this but with Limited Run Games...Hm, gonna have to think about it for awhile.
In terms of actually "playing" this, I do have the OG "Phat" DS, if ya'll love to call it that. But for me, it's the OG DS. Anyways...it can play GBA games with no problem.
But WayForward can simply release the game itself on the Eshop & other online storefronts. And THEN do the GBA cartridge release later. It's sensible that way.
I think the only game I've played that put much of the backstory and behind-the-scenes in quests was Phantasy Star Online Ep.1.
Some of them introduce you to some of the characters, few are stand-alone quest, & then there are the ones that have a huge bearing the main plot itself.
Phantasy Star Zero kinda did this but to a much lesser extent.
Interesting video. That aside...this confirms all Pikmin types are in the game pretty much. Though whether Ice Pikmin have their own onion is a different story.
I don't think I've ever enjoyed any of the 3D platformers on the N64. Super Mario 64 was fine for what it was as it was the only 3D platformer I owned & played. Banjo & DK64 i could care less about.
Rayman 2 I gotten on Dreamcast as it felt much better with the controller.
I find it really disturbing to see Sonic Chaos ranked a smidge low. To me, it's a very competent 8-bit game in it's own right. I do prefer the Master System versions of Sonic 1, 2, & Chaos. But I stay away from Triple Trouble, as it's really not my favorite.
I've would've been THIS close to buying Origins Plus. But after hearing that the "Plus" content wouldn't be on disc/cart had done it for me. After this, Sonic Superstars will be the last Sonic I'll ever buy from SEGA.
And I do think the score is justified. Sega could've added more than just the bare minimum. Like the lack of a CRT filter, for instance. I'm just gonna stick with Sonic Jam.
Still not that big but still a little chunky on the side. But either way, I'm looking forward to playing this game soon in Fall or Winter. Most likely Winter due to Sonic SuperStars being released close to Super Mario Bros Wonder.
I do...well...kinda. What I DO NOT MISS is the freakishly' long cord of the Sensor bar. Though could've been alleviated if I bought the cordless one. But at the time when I got my first Wii, the wireless/cordless variety didn't exist yet until 2 years later.
As for the motion aiming, I didn't really have any issues aside from having to position the Sensor Bar itself. It was much easier to place it on my CRT TV than my HD TV.
Do I miss it? Well...yes...and no. To put it simply: 50% miss it, 50% not miss it.
Just playing Sonic Jam, Astal, Tetris Plus, & Clockwork Knight on my Saturn.
Rayman Origins & Lumines: Electronic Symphony on Vita. Tamagotchi Corner Shop: 1, 2, & 3 on my DS/3DS. Sonic Mania on PS4
And that's about it really. I'd be playing Sonic Origins Plus already if not for the fact of how SEGA handle it & Sonic Jam being the better compilation of which I already have. Why spend $40 then?
@JONOFTHEJONS Funny enough, Aprochrypha was meant to start out as a game originally, albeit, mobile I believe. I think Fate: Grand Order is kinda like it's reincarnated form, so to say.
I was surprised to learn about it back in 2013 when the Fate/Aprochrypha anime started airing in regards to it's original concept.
I think it's clear that E3 is pretty much a lost cause. It would be better to just outright discontinue/retire rather than wasting time, money, & resources.
E3 was already suffering a decline over the last decade anyways. But that's just my 2 cents.
Hm, this one actually might be up my alley. I just hope it gets a physical release at some point. And HOPEFULLY not a limited one at that either. Limited Run Games...?
I'm amazed they even bothered emulating the Saturn version rather than the arcade ver. Considering that Saturn emulation is still iffy...(at least to me). But I'll be glad to be proven wrong though.
Most of the time, when shmups get ported to consoles & PC, most companies just go for the arcade versions to make things easier.
Now if we can get a modern Parodius compilation from Konami, that'll be nice.
@Tempestryke Either to ease the workload or to have more time to focus on other projects. Or...whatever reason there is for it.
It always have been a standard thing in the game industry for years. So it's a kinda of a tradition for most.
Take Earthworm Jim 2, for example. While Shiny Entertainment developed the game for Geneses & SNES. Screaming Pink developed the Saturn & PSX ver. While Rainbow Arts handled porting it to MS-DOS.
@silverdamascus Don't you think most people would already know about that? Licensing had always been a thing for gaming. Disney, WB, Fox, & Paramount done it many times to license their properties to many gaming companies.
And yes, license expiring can be a bane for many folks. But that's how it works and renewing can be costly.

Re: Ratatan, A Rhythm Side-Scroller From The Team Behind Patapon, Is Officially Heading For Switch
Definitely has the Patapon vibes right down to the tone & visual style. Of course, it's developed by the team that did the Patapon series after all.
Now imagine if there was a Pikmin rhythm game like this.
Re: Theatrhythm Final Bar Line Reveals New DLC Song Pack For October
Didn't Square Enix added any songs from FF: 4 Heros of Light? It's a darn shame I've never had the chance to play that one...
Re: Rayman Returns In Upcoming Mario + Rabbids DLC, Out This Month
@HotGoomba Or perhaps Rayman Origins+Legends & Rayman Raving Rabbids Party Collection?
It kinda feels that folks are forgetting Rayman Origins existence somewhat...
Re: Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games And Accessories For August And September 2023
Yup...just Pikmin 1+2 for me. Pikmin 4 really didn't hook me in the way Pikmin 2 did.
August just seems rather lackluster. Which works for me since I can save money for two Autumn releases.
Re: Bomb Rush Cyberfunk "Official Special Trailer" Unveiled Ahead Of Launch
Would be nice if Sega THEMSELVES would do us a favor and release Jet Set Radio on the eShop. Really...is it sooo complex to understand, Sega?
Perhaps this game will itch that particular spot for some folks.
Re: Rumour: Nintendo Is Targeting A 2024 Release For The Switch Successor
All this just tells me that I'm in NO hurry to buy a Switch successor next year or so. Besides, my OLED Switch is only what? 5 months old?
Yeah...I'm good.
Re: Video: 14 Exciting New Games Coming To The Nintendo Switch In August 2023
Hm...nothing really catches my interest. But September and October surely will.
Re: Review: The Legend Of Zelda: Oracle Of Ages - An Engrossing Tale And True Series Classic
And still to this day...I haven't even played any of these two titles...
Why is that, I ask? Then again...I didn't know these two games existed at the time when I was 10. I like the art style of both.
Re: Smash Bros. Ultimate GameCube Controller Getting Restocked (Japan)
@SpoonySpoons Neat! Mine's is a JVC AV-20f476 I'Art. Made in 2005.
It may not be a Sony Trinitron but it's nice enough to play retro consoles anyways, heh.
Re: Smash Bros. Ultimate GameCube Controller Getting Restocked (Japan)
@SpoonySpoons Oooh, nice! What kind of brand, model, & year is it?

Re: The GameCube And Wii Emulator Dolphin Is No Longer Coming To Steam
@Dragonite89 Quick question. Is 4K really that much of a necessity?
I'd rather care more for emulation & dumping than adding 4K.
Re: The GameCube And Wii Emulator Dolphin Is No Longer Coming To Steam
@Sambuc Gonna be realistic here...even that option isn't feasible for everyone, you know. Especially considering the price & cost of 2nd copies of certain games that well in the $80-200 range.
Re: Amazon Spain Leaks An Upcoming 'King Kong' Game For Switch
Interesting...for a moment there I thought it was based on the Monsterverse Kong. But I guess not.
Not that it bothers me. Last time I've owned a King Kong game was Peter Jackson's King kong: The Game. But...I don't think I'll get this tho...
Re: Poll: Which Dormant Nintendo Franchise Would You Most Like To See Return?
Golden Sun is something I would like to see. As I only played the Lost Age on GBA yrs ago.
Re: PSA: For Goodness Sake, Don't Fall For This Nintendo Switch 2 'Leak'
...
Nope. I certainly have no words to say honestly.
Re: Exclusive: 16-Bit-Inspired 'Tiny Thor' Smashes His Way To Switch This August
I think 32-bit would be a better term for this one. Either way, I do love 32-bit platformers.

Re: Shantae's Cancelled Game Boy Advance Project 'Risky Revolution' Is Being Revived
@shonenjump86 I wouldn't stress about that. If emulation is the only option, then...well...it is. But if you must get one, try ebay.
You can find most at prices between $40, 50, or 60. Or a little higher. And you can try the og DS or DS Lite as another option too.
There are many ways, just find one that fits your preference.

Re: Sonic Co-Creator Yuji Naka Has Been Sentenced To Prison For Insider Trading
I pretty much lost all respect for him at this point. I used to admire him back in the day...kinda sad if you think about.
I still enjoy some of the games he had worked on, such as NiGHTS into Dreams & Phantasy Star Online.

At this point, just Sonic Superstars & Super Mario Bros Wonder.
That's about it really.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 24th)
Just playing Sonic Jam, Astal, Tetris Plus, & Clockwork Knight on my Saturn.

Re: Talking Point: Is Super Mario Bros. Wonder Really A Departure From The 'New' Series?
I mean it's different enough...visually. But don't you think the best course is to...oh, I don't know...like WAIT until the game is out???
Not trying to be blunt here, but a video can show us so much without having to try it out OURSELVES. That's just common sense...
Re: Random: Artists Are Already Creating Elephant Mario Fan Art And It's Brilliant
I personally like the pixel one (2nd tweet btw). Makes me wish there was a modern pixel Super Mario Bros game honestly.

I'm lookin' at you...
Re: Nintendo's Upcoming Party Game Everybody 1-2-Switch! Showcases "100 Players At Once"
I'm not, gonna be honest here, really understanding the appeal of this game. So maybe it's just not the game for me anyways. And that's fine for me.
But I'm not gonna knock anyone down for liking/wanting this though. So that's all i'm gonna say.
Re: Mini Review: Hatsune Miku - The Planet Of Wonder And Fragments Of Wishes - Fragments Indeed
Honestly, what bothers me is the asking price is $28.
What flippin' fish nonsense it is. Should be...uh...$1 at most, for the quality that it has.
Re: Mini Review: Hatsune Miku - The Planet Of Wonder And Fragments Of Wishes - Fragments Indeed
@Rambler Seems to be. Considering the output of Vocaloid videos on Youtube & Nicovideo.
Re: Review: Batsugun Saturn Tribute Boosted - The Best Home Release Of Toaplan's Final Shmup

Re: Sonic's Knuckles Series Adds Multiple New Cast Members
I was surprised to see Christopher Lloyd amongst the cast when I saw his name was trending.
Other than that...is all I got to say.
Re: Sonic Mania Dev Confirms Superstars Translates 'Retro Engine' Physics Into 3D
@Magician Then I guess it's safe to say, at point blank, that this isn't the game for you.
That much I'll say. That said, I do believe in giving people a chance. Even if said group's track record is iffy at most.
Re: Celebrate Nintendo Live 2023 With Stylish Switch Cases, T-Shirts, And More

Re: Good Smile Company Announces Mario And Luigi Nendoroid Rerelease, Pre-Orders Now Open
I really do want a Nendoroid ever since...uh...2010...? But I want to score for the Vocaloid ones though.
These two Mario Nendos aren't really up my alley tbh.
Re: Two Switch Games Will "No Longer Be Available" On The eShop
@SBandy1 Just the word itself. I should've been specific though.
Re: Two Switch Games Will "No Longer Be Available" On The eShop
@SBandy1 At this point, clickbait is just starting to lose it's meaning now. whether or not this is true, I don't know. Time will tell.
Re: Sonic Superstars Includes "New Character" By OG Designer Naoto Ohshima
Nice to hear that Naoto Ohshima is working on the new character. Gonna keep an eye out this one for now.
Still bitter about Sonic Origins Plus though...Hopefully this one can unsour my mood.
