Why doesn't that surprise me...orz. I'm sure the same will happen to Super Mario Bros Wonder...
Either way I'm not too bothered by spoilers. Even if I did see them, it's different when you experience it rather than just seeing it from the internet. At least it does for me.
Like heck I am. I already got the basic white OLED. And I only had it for 7 lousy months. So if I DID buy it...I'm basically burnin' money for no reason other than just owning it.
Urgh...this is just killing any reason for me to get back into Pokemon Scarlet more. Honestly...I'd be doing myself a favor by not BUYING at all.
This is just minimal effort Game Freak is doing when they can just make one giant patch & fix all the issues. But I know nothin' about game development. This just makes Legends & the D/p remakes look just a...BIT...better by comparison. but not much.
It looks nice but it's not enough for me to REALLY want to get it. I'll just buy the original 3DS version.
I'm surprised many folks don't like this one. Cause I don't remember the game getting very much hate or anything back when it was released in 2013. I, personally, liked it more than the 1st one actually.
After watching some gameplay videos of this one, I gotta say that animation style & quality is pretty top-notch. And the surreal & bizarre tone/atmosphere definitely gives me a bit'o The Neverhood vibes.
Kinda wish THAT game would be on the eShop alongside Armakrog too.
Ooof...I know CERTAIN folks ain't gonna like it. Nowadays, even 60 fps aren't enough for us. Some want even 120fps. At the highest degree. Have we really become so spoiled by framerates so much that I even question it???
I dare not say...but will say it anyways. But whatever...
@GrailUK On one side, this a remaster of a 19 yr old GC game that ran 60 fps on the GC. So something like this should be easily achievable.
On the other side, 30 fps usually is the middle standard I'll take. I'm not THAT CRAZY with the obsession with 60 fps. But it does get kinda grating hearing folks wanting 4k 60fps or even 120fps.
And honestly, these folks don't understand from the casual gamer's point-of-view sometimes. Most, me included, are happy that this game IS GETTING RELEASED AT ALL.
Bottom line: I guess it goes both ways...or one. I don't know...whatever suits anyone fancy...I suppose.
I've only played Tomb Raider on my Dreamcast back in 2001. But I've never knew that Tomb Raider was also Saturn. I think I've played the 2nd one on Dreamcast. EDIT: Scratch that last statement. It was the 4th one. Not the 2nd.
The controls were just...utterly weird for me to grasp. I kid you not. You'd think I'd be dumb enough to go for the Saturn version too.
Honestly, I thought it was going to be the OG Paper Mario but...man...did not EVEN expected TYD to be the one. I had such bad luck with this game back in the day.
Tried renting it on the GC & my console couldn't read the disc...twice. Now that it's coming to Switch, I don't have to worry about buy 2nd hand GC copies.
I guess I was right to call it being "monkey-pawed" lmao. Jokes aside...I could've settled for a HD-2D style remake of the SNES F-Zero though. There's an idea for that, right, Nintendo?
So I have to be the only one who wants a Freakazoid game in this style? You know...plays as Freakazoid, Fanboy, or Cosgrove as you take on Freakazoid's rogue gallery.
Or Beetlejuice. Don't tell me none of ya'll never heard the Beetlejuice cartoon either...
A more robust single-player campaign mode would nice. Better designed maps in online modes I would welcome very much. As I kinda feel that a majority of the maps in Splatoon 3 lack interesting designs and most of them have that weird, linear layout.
Mix it up with interesting (& weird) layouts then you got it made. As for weapons...eh...I'll just wait & see.
Why am I'm not surprised...this has been a thing for the Switch more often than compared to the WiiU's lifespan. Only a handful of games got this treatment on the WiiU. Ducktales: Remaster is one notable game. Can anyone tell any WiiU game that got this treatment?
That said...I even saw Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition as one...despite...you know...being a FULL RETAIL GAME??? Though that was months ago...i think. Very bizarre...
Must be the 1st time a 2D Mario game got it's own Direct. Huh...
Either way, i'm excited for this one. So definitely gonna watch it.
That said...I have to ask this...have we REALLY become this obsessed with Nintendo Directs...? Kinda feels like it. Pointless question, maybe. But at some point, somebody's gotta ask it.
I doubt I'll ever see any of Charles Martinet successor's exceeding him. As I view him as Mario's "Definitive" voice actor.
Gotta wait & see how this will affect future games going forward. This news will take me a LOOOOOOOONG...time to get used to & accept. But that's how the cookie crumbles...I guess.
I was going to get this with Super Mario Bros Wonder but I chose to get Wonder first as that game would most likely be hard to find/out of stock after being release on Oct.20.
Besides, I was going to wait to get this later on in December anyways.
I'm not...sure...how to feel about that. They would've had a good start if Square didn't botched the remaster the way they have done it. They LITERALLY "half-boiled" it basically...
Should I even I give them the benefit of the doubt...? I don't know anymore. I don't even want the to touch Final Fantasy CC: Echoes of Time.
Speaking of Crystal Chronicles, I wonder if anyone remembers FF: Crystal Explorers.
Huh...come to the think of it...I don't think I've ever played ANY of these "scam" games. But I'm very familiar with "shovelware" games. And it became very common throughout the 7th mid-generation. PSN (mostly PSP) & the Wii/DSi shop were quite flooded with those types of games. Can't say much for Xbox Live.
Even Steam has this issue. Online storefronts need serious quality control at this point. If nothing is done, this problem is only gonna grow bigger & bigger...
I don't mean to sound like a critic, purist, or anything...but this game certainly looks like it could fit being a 32X, GBA, Saturn, PSX, Atari Jaguar, ect. That said, I still consider this as a 32-bit.
But then, when you consider the 32x is an attachment/extension of the Genesis, I guess it does have the excuse to try emulating the feel of a Mega Drive game.
P.S. I'm getting tired of saying "Genesis" even though that's the name the system went by in the US...
I was interested in this but having loose control is problem for me. 2D platformers need to have good, precise controls. That to me is an requirement.

@lakbo12 For me it's pretty ok Though, the reverse cover I do like.

Re: The First Review For Sonic Superstars Is Now In
Isn't a 32/40 decent? Knowing Famitsu...not sure if their review can be taken for granted...
Re: Random: Some Switch Fans Want A Super Mario Bros. Wonder eShop Demo
@Axecon I can only imagine that would be the ONLY reason.
Re: Video: How Does Detective Pikachu Returns Compare To Its 3DS Predecessor?
Don't know why...but I prefer the 3ds version over the Switch version.
But the 3ds version has good use of shadows in the environments. Particularly the cafe.
Makes me miss the 3ds era...
Re: Reminder: The 'Mario Red Edition' Switch OLED Is Out Today, Will You Be Getting It?
Like heck I am. I already got the basic white OLED. And I only had it for 7 lousy months. So if I DID buy it...I'm basically burnin' money for no reason other than just owning it.
So...nope.
Re: Review: Kirby & The Amazing Mirror - Messy With Metroid Influences, Better With Buddies
Hm...can't really agree with this review tbh. Especially on the sluggish controls part. I have this game for my DS OG & the controls feel just fine.
Though mine's is a JP import but still...same game overall. And one of my all-time fav GBA game overall.
Re: Sonic Superstars Will Run At "A Smooth 60FPS" On Switch
Well, I'll just have wait & see if that's really the case. But if so, then color me surprised.

Re: Internal Xbox Email Details Potential Nintendo Acquisition
Ugh...Microsoft's way of think baffles me everytime. And I certainly doubt that Nintendo of Japan would even allow such a thing to happen or pass.
Has Microsoft even considered that? Who knows...But this is one thing I would rather NOT happen.

@Vyacheslav333 I chuckled at that one. Lol
Re: Early Tech Analysis Suggests Paper Mario's Thousand-Year Door Remaster Runs At 30FPS
@Vyacheslav333 Well, you can always go with emulation on the Steamdeck or PC to get those results. The possibilities are...endless. Or infinite.

Re: Splatoon 3 Version 5.0.1 Arriving Soon, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
@Snatcher I can't say for Ranked since I play mostly Turf War. But I've mostly level up my Catalog lv just by playing Turf wars constantly.
I'll leave to someone else who knows better than i do. I just don't care as much for Ranked battles as much as I used to.

Re: Nintendo Direct September 2023: Time, Where To Watch, Our Predictions
I wonder if Nintendo will release that Super Mario Bros Wonder demo...
Cause that will definitely give me a taste of what the game is like.

Re: Embracer Group Reportedly Looking To Sell Borderlands Dev Gearbox Entertainment
Geez...what the heck has Embracer Group been doing all this time? Squandering themselves it seems like.
And shutting down Volition is biggest misstep they could ever do. They could've sold the group if they wanted to.

And Red Yoshi nobody chooses. So I'll do the honor of going for him. I did the same in Yoshi's Woolly World.

Re: Extremely Limited Edition Cult Of The Lamb Switch Controllers Revealed, Pre-Orders Now Live
Would've loved the design if it wasn't for the price of it being as painful to look at as a jellyfish, or Asian Hornet, sting...
Re: Round Up: The Previews Are In For Super Mario Bros. Wonder
Sounds like Super Mario Bros Wonder is going to do just fine. As always.
Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of The Super Mario Bros. Wonder Direct Showcase?
I was certainly impressed after all. It's a "wonder" I'd even pre-ordered it after awhile too.
I rarely, if ever, pre-order Mario games.
Re: Hatsune Miku Is Getting Her Own Fitness Boxing Game On Switch

Re: Square Enix To Publish Whimsical Horror Adventure 'Little Goody Two Shoes'

Re: Fitness Boxing Is Being Removed From Switch eShop Later This Year
Seems like it was due to music license expiration with some of the songs from Europe. Since it does have a good number of them.
I feel that detail should be mentioned in the article though.
Re: Skull Island: Rise Of Kong Swings Onto Switch This October
Ugh...I wouldn't even pay $20 flippin' dollars for this. And the Digital Deluxe just isn't making it any better at all. Just much worse actually.
Seems like paying for Digital Deluxe editions are gonna start becoming a trend sooner in the future. though I feel it already has.
I feel that Peter Jackson's King Kong: the Game was excellent quality. I wish we gotten a HD remaster of that one...
One can dream though...orz.

Re: GuliKit Announces New SNES Themed Docking Station, Compatible With Switch
Huh...I might actually get one of these. I've never really bought any GuliKit's products but they seem to be good quality.
Cause I do plan on getting their Gulikit Kong Pro Controller at some point.
Re: Sonic Superstars Locks In October Release, Right Before Super Mario Bros. Wonder
I'm buying later in winter. I have a good reason for it. Just have to space out how often I buy games.

Re: Sega Releases Samba De Amigo: Party Central Demo On Switch eShop
Might give this a try. Haven't REALLY tried any of the games in the series. Not on Dreamcast or Wii.
Re: Geoff Keighley: This Year's Gamescom ONL Is "Less About Announcing Brand New Projects"
I'm hoping to at least see at least some more gameplay of Super Mario Bros Wonder. Even if it's just basic gameplay...just a little.
If not, then...eh, it's not a big deal. Also...isn't PAX supposed to be happening soon somewhat?
