I'm noticing much of the recent LEGO games aren't being developed by Traveler's Tales. I've always associated LEGO games with that developer pretty for years.
Honestly, I have no problem going back to the 3DS original. Especially if price is concerned. I'm not dropping $60 for a upscaled 3ds game when the original version is sooo much cheaper.
@nessisonett Even I know Sonic's character model didn't look that angular. The eyes look alright tho. I don't know when exactly they made him plastic-y, lookin'.
It's also why I prefer the Dreamcast version of Sonic Adventure rather than Sonic Adventure DX. I thought the character models, except Big & Gamma, were...weird so to say. Big & Gamma looked waaaaay too slicky & shiny.
I remember the 1982 movie when I watched while still in middle school in 2004.
And I also remember the 2011 film. But I didn't get the chance to watch the ORIGINAL 1951 film, The Thing. A.k.a "The Thing from Another World". I should go fix btw.
Hard to tell really...they said that about the 3DS when the Switch was released. Sales of the 3DS started slowing down afterwards.
But that doesn't mean the same will happen to the Switch. We have to WAIT & SEE basically. Maybe I'm just blowing smoke outta my brain or something & don't know hwat the heck I'm talking about.
I'm gonna be blunt but it would've been better if Wrath stayed on PC. Because from reading the article, it's very clear this game was made for PC in mind.
I dunno if I could say it in a better way but that's how I see it.
Wow, it's amazing how this title is getting good support compared to Disney Infinity. I mean granted these are two different games, but I remember in the Era of WiiU, that Disney tried their darnest to really make Disney Infinity into something big, but the cost of the collectable figurines (like those Skylanders & LEGO Dimension's ones) & the trend dying kinda put a bust on that plan.
But Disney is doing good so far, I'm not into this one but I can't help admiring the support it's getting though. And I'm sure it'll be long-term too. Ehm...I'd say...about 2-3 more years of content being delivered up until then...maybe...?
P.S. I apologized for the uh...um...long text. Also can anyone correct me if I missed any important details?
Hard to say if I'm really "interested" in watching this & the fact it can only be watched on Paramount+ is irksome for me. Since I sworned off streaming altogether after many of them increased in price & my mom's recent Netflix issue with payment methods, I really don't wanna go thru all that trouble.
However...the fact the show is coming to DVD/Blu-ray (hoping it's a combo release) does even all the cons out & it's (again) a show that I can wait on for a home media release for.
Now...if Warner Bros can get the Blu-ray T.V. show wagon, I would love to see Courage the Cowardly Dog get a nice treatment of Blu-ray goodness.
@RadioShadow I really hope Super Paper Mario gets the remake treatment. I did enjoy it when I first played it & it was the ONLY Paper Mario game I've ever finished. Didn't do that for the original Paper Mario sadly...
@NicolausCamp It's kinda opposite with DVD's as they're supposed to be region-locked but there cases of some being region-free. I have one of the older release of Revolutionary Girl Utena from Software Sculptures that has the "All" code.
Blu-rays I see as being kinda "two-sided" or partially region-locked. As for 4KUHD, I'm not sure if companies are even allowed to lock them.
Only reason is because of mostly licensing crap but I don't even see that being enforced or anything.
I had to bring up HD-DVD. Since I don't even think they have any region coding at all. but if the format had stayed alive, I'm sure they've would've used a similar region code for HD-DVD.
@NicolausCamp Blu-Rays are both region-free & region-locked, but in a more simple way. 4KUHD are region-free. The same applies to HD-DVDs as well. (Yes, I said HD-DVD.)
DVD's are obviously region-locked. But there are rare cases of some being "Region 0" or "ALL". Now if a Blu-Ray has the "All" or "Region 0" then it's region-free.
But you can buy a region-free Blu-Ray player off Amazon or Ebay for a good price. Just read up on this, I'm tired of saying "region-free"...
You know...I thought it would be bonkers for him to be cast as Shadow the Hedgehog in Sonic 3 but then so is Jim Carrey cast as Robotnik a few years back...
But hey...if Keanu Reaves can bring edginess in Shadow the hedgehog then so be it.
Supposedly that's good if it's selling that many. But the game just...doesn't catch my interest or anything. Crash Bandicoot was a series I've never gave as much as a glance up until I've played Crash: Wrath of Cortex. That's the game that drew me in.
None of the others did. Just THAT ONE game alone...Weird.
I always thought that all of Vanillaware's games looked really good. Odin's Sphere was the only Vanillaware title I've played on the PS2 back then at the time I also bought Disgaea 2 since both of them were on sale at Walmart or Target...I forgot which.

Re: Round Up: The First "Hands On" Impressions Of Luigi's Mansion 2 HD Are In
Are many of them saying that the touched-up graphics are worth the price for this...? Honestly, I'm flabbergasted...
Re: Hands On: Luigi's Mansion 2 HD Delivers More Than Just A Hi-Def Upgrade
Honestly, I have no problem going back to the 3DS original. Especially if price is concerned. I'm not dropping $60 for a upscaled 3ds game when the original version is sooo much cheaper.
Re: Ubisoft Is Releasing A New Monopoly Game On Switch This September
Yeesh...haven't played any Monopoly games since I've played the one on Genesis & PS1.
Re: Retro-Style Racer 'Victory Heat Rally' Power Slides Onto Switch Winter 2024
This looks nice & all...but something about the sprite-work...just feels off to me...
Don't know why...
Re: Homebrew Games Summer Showcase 2024 - Celebrating 120 Games Across 15 Platforms
Once again, i'm happy to see the Sega Master System getting some love.
Re: Sonic X Shadow Generations Leaks Have Apparently Surfaced Online
Hm...they're pricing this at $50? Honestly, I think it should be $40 at most.
Granted it's not THAT bad compared to the atrocious $60 price tag that Sonic Superstars had at launch but that was what hurt that game the most imo.
I promise to myself that i wouldn't buy another Sonic game ever again...but I broke that once I bought SuperStars at $30...
Welp...not this time...

Re: Talking Point: Would You Want Quality And Performance Options For Nintendo's 'Switch 2' Games?
I don't really know honestly. I guess both options are good. But this is something I don't really think about all the time, too deep, or anything.
Re: New Limited-Time Pokémon Scarlet And Violet Distribution Now Available
What's the point of this if the if the time frame of expiration is so SHORT?
I can understand if it was in a week's time or so, but 2 days?
Re: Monster-Collecting RPG Cassette Beasts Scores Stunning Physical Deluxe Edition Next Month
Neato. Hopefully I'll be able to get it at some point.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Bravely Default
I'll go with North America/Japan for Bravely Default. Not too flashy but simplistic.
Re: Video: Digital Foundry Takes A Look At Zelda 64 Recompiled: Majora's Mask
Huh...interesting watch. I'd like to see how this stands with the 3DS remake.
Re: Video: Capcom Shows Off New Monster Hunter Stories Gameplay Footage
@Anti-Matter If it says "voucher included for 2nd game", chances are that game is downloaded with a DL code.
It was like that for Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster for Switch & Vita. While The PS3/4 & Xbox One had both on a single disc.
Meanwhile Digimon: Cyber Sleuth & Hackers Memory both were on one cart for the Switch version.
Re: Review: Wizardry: Proving Grounds Of The Mad Overlord (Switch) - A Grand Remake Of An Iconic Game
Interesting. Does anyone remember Elminage? I think the last game was Eliminage 3.
Anyhoo, I might try this out. Maybe.
Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door On Switch
Hm...I think I'm gonna back-off on getting this game honestly. Cuz I'm having very serious doubts about whether I can get this or not.
Sad shame since I didn't get to play this on the GC originally.
Re: Review: Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (Switch) - Still The King Of Mario RPGs
Might have to wait to buy it on b-day in June later in the month. Gotta weigh my options financially.
Re: Review: Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (Switch) - Still The King Of Mario RPGs
@Ironcore Too harsh a score just because it's 30 fps instead, me thinks. But that's your opinion. So I'll respect that.
Re: Inti Creates' Roguelike Deckbuilder 'Card-en-Ciel' Hits Switch In October
This looks right up my alley. Haven't played Mega Man Battle Network in YEARS...
I just hope I'm not THAT rusty when playing this. Again it's been years since...uh...2004.
Re: Nintendo Announces Acquisition Of Shiver Entertainment
Still I consider this good news. Better for Nintendo to buy Shiver than let it get shuttered or floundered or...whatever ya'll call it & that.
Time will tell on what happens afterwards.
Re: Best Super Monkey Ball Games Of All Time
I still think the OG Super Monkey Ball on GC is the superior one to 2. But SMB2 does make a good argument for that spot too.
Can't say much for the others though. But Touch & Roll is still a competent game. Only one I can't say for is Banana Splitz for Vita.
Re: Free Godzilla DLC Storms Into 'Dave The Diver' Next Week On Switch
Seems like the DLC is featuring the Heisei Godzilla & Final Wars Ebirah...I think.
And while we're on the subject of Godzilla, I wish Namco could bring Godzilla Vs to Switch or at least it's successor.
Re: Sonic Adventure-Like 3D Action Platformer 'Spark The Electric Jester 3' Coming To Switch
Well...it certainly has those "Sonic Adventure" vibes in some way. But I'm not impressed enough to get me to buy it. So it's a hard pass for me...
Re: Nintendo Will Continue To Support Physical Media And "Maximise" All Software Sales
Good enough for me. I can't stand digital anyways.
Re: Feature: How Nintendo Switch Is Being Used By A New Generation Of Therapists
I still feel like more work is needed to get more people to understand about mental health & problems.
I mean, many folks out there still don't understand autism or ADHD...
Both of which I do have...am I off-topic...?

Then again I didn't really pay much attention back then...

Heck they really nailed that 80's book-style visual covers. I had owned a few books or my mom did of the horror genre back then.

Re: Upcoming Pixel Art RPG 'Beyond Galaxyland' Oozes Ambition And Personality
Seems more like Phantasy Star to me than anything since the PS Quadrilogy on the MD was turn-based.
So this might tickle my fancy if it gets a physical release down the line at some point.
Re: Bayonetta Origins Director Empathises With Paper Mario Dev, Suggests Reasons For 30FPS
@kfflscnt You mean changes in the game dialogue, right? As in being close to the JP script or whatever people call it?
Cause I seem to remember seeing something about that. But since I've never played Thousand-Year Door, I wouldn't know it either way.

@Samalik And yet we can't even realize that we can't always have it both ways in life???
Re: Bayonetta Origins Director Empathises With Paper Mario Dev, Suggests Reasons For 30FPS
All this fuss over FPS...honestly all it's gonna do is make me not wanna get it eventually.
I'm tired of this mentality. I'm considering retiring from buying games altogether.

I might get the Steel book case. Now whether I get the DVD or Blu-ray, I dunno. I hope it's a combo release.
Re: Tomb Raider I-III Remastered Will Restore Missing Posters In Patch 3
"inadvertently"...? How do you "inadvertently" remove these by mistake, Aspyr, I must ask. Am I expecting it to be an honest mistake?
Yeesh...Aspyr really need to get themselves sorted out big time.
Re: Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Switch Frame Rate Revealed
I'm fine with both 30 & 60 fps. But not everyone is flexible like I am. I mean that's just facts & reality there. People have different preferences.
But one thing you can't deny is the visuals look heck as vibrant & pretty as it comes.
So I'm buying it. GC version is pricey as I don't know what.

@rjejr "Demaster"...huh...hm...myeah. I can see that catching on to be a term by itself. Much like de-make.
