Re: Talking Point: What Would You Want From A New Star Fox Game?

Crockin

I’ve thought about this a lot. I DO NOT want another 64 clone. It’s done. No more please. I am full. Please for the love of god, give us some new story beats, new characters, the whole nine yards.

But more than that, I want a Star Fox game that just feels freer. This doesn’t necessarily mean full on open world, but give me some flexibility. Let me go off rails and explore a bit more. Let me play as other characters. Give me other cool stuff to do instead of just the missions. Come through with the next biggest SF game that stands on its own two feet

While I do agree with critics that it is primarily nostalgia slop - it was an absolute blast. Wasn’t bored a single second. Especially the last half hour or so, was like a roller coaster ride. It was cringe sure, but far less so than the original. The needle drops were fewer and more tasteful. Overall was just really fun

Just mashing the styles of first person and third person is such a stroke of brilliance. So many insane things happen in this game, I cannot put it down

Only past the first few areas but so far I think like an 8? It’s absolutely stunning aesthetically speaking. And for the most part very polished gameplay wise.

Gotta say though, that desert is a total momentum killer. Really comes across as being shoved in because they couldn’t have this game in development another year or two. I fear it’s going to drag this game down even further later on.

I don’t even mind the npc’s! Thought they would ruin it, but it’s that desert. Psychic stuff feels a little clunky but not too bad.

@RiasGremory k but the npc’s here are definitely way more engaged in the actual gameplay rather than just cutscenes and occasional pop ins or whatever. I could see like, the robot guy dying maybe
