The hypest launches of my lifetime 1. N64 2. Switch 3. SNES 4. Wii
The mania that the n64 generated cannot be recreated. Was a totally different media and retail landscape. First saw footage of Mario on the morning news and I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Then I got to actually play it at a kiosk and it was so mind blowing. Hearing his feet clatter and seeing breathe, I was like yea 3D is here baby let me in
I still think it’s entirely possible that we’ve still only seen speculative mockups. Only because every leak looks a little different, and we haven’t seen the full console face on convincingly. Could be wrong, but Nintendo not scrambling to take stuff down is kind of an indicator. They can totally strike down and ruin these third parties….so why aren’t they? Idk, all kinda fishy
@Chopper25 I don’t doubt there’s more. We haven’t even seen what the central gameplay mechanic is. Just saying from what we’ve seen so far, just looks like same old
@N8tiveT3ch there’s all kinds of stuff they could do. Customizable suits, brand new abilities, new beams, mobility options, space flight combat etc etc. they could change up how the environment works. Possibilities are endless with a franchise like Metroid.
And fwiw, I’m interested in this new Zelda precisely because it’s not just the same thing again.
@N8tiveT3ch just because other M was a bad game doesn’t mean Nintendo couldn’t overhaul Metroid prime for a whole new type of experience that people like
I was honestly a little disappointed that gameplay looked more or less exactly like prime 1. I know it was just a little taste, but definitely expected some bigger changes. Even the suit just looked like regular old samus.
Gonna have to go with BOTW. Totk is incredible and makes many improvements of course, but the first one was just such a revelatory gaming experience. I didn’t quite reach that level with totk, but mostly cuz everything was so familiar already. The newness of it wore off much faster imo. Having put significant time into both, I can safely say I am very sick of it overall lol
I really don't like being spoiled. It definitely doesn’t ruin the product itself, but there’s no question it cheapens the experience. Whether it’s story, gameplay, movies, albums, whatever. If given the choice I would like my first experience with the thing to unfold the way the creator intended.
It’s looks good, very fun ideas, nice art direction. That said I do thjnk it’s basically a nsmb game with new features and better art direction. I’m not as blown away as some are, but it looks like a solid 2d Mario game that I would play through maybe once or twice
Not really an addressing of the issue lol, but yeah they should take like an extra year or two. The impact of a very polished new Pokémon game would be pretty big.
Would easily throw this in a top 5 n64 games. It’s soooo good. Superior to Mario kart 64, and that says a lot. Rare managed to make a racing game that’s also an engaging adventure collectathon. Incredible music, really interesting courses, secrets, bosses. Whole package
This area and everything after it was so good (except the robot which was very disappointing) I wish I could experience the end for the first time again
Loved them in this game, but I still find it really annoying when they randomly pop up after beating kohga. It’s less frequent than in botw, but still annoying
I think it's great. Having to replay an entire day is not hard or anything, but I find having to repeat the same tasks in a Pikmin game to be really boring
@MythTgr huh? Zelda is one of the most popular and accessible series ever. Literally designed for anyone to pick up and play. Maybe Zelda 2 is an exception, but the majority of Zelda games are very casual friendly. Even my mom played the original one on nes and had never touched a video game in her life.
Also don’t really care about a June direct tbh. We just got Zelda with pikmin 4 on the way. They aren’t topping that in q4 this year. A September direct, sure

Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct?
Mario kart and dk look fantastic. Just not super blown away by the switch 2s features. It’s great and all, but these price hikes are a lot.

Re: Is This Our Best Look Yet At 'Switch 2'?
The fact that they would be so bold to actually show it makes me skeptical

So it's basically nsmb but better

Re: New Interview With Zelda Boss Suggests There Are No Plans For TOTK DLC
@boxyguy I mean, it came out 4 months ago. Dlc that comes out within a few years is pretty timely

Re: Talking Point: Which Nintendo IP Should 'Switch 2' Launch With?
@Krull don’t think they would tbh. It’s Mario, zelda or bust. Hopefully they know this by now
Re: Talking Point: Which Nintendo IP Should 'Switch 2' Launch With?
I mean, odyssey 2 or Mario kart 9 would launch that thing to the moon and back
Re: Earthbound Documentary Will Examine The Power Of Online Communities
Will definitely check this one out
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Pikmin 4?
Hopefully I will play it soon. Still have to finish totk
Re: Soapbox: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Fixed The Yiga Clan, And Now I Want More

This game is dead on arrival
Re: Poll: Are You Still Playing Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?
I’m like 100 hours in and I’ve done 100 shrines and 2 dungeons. I think another 50-60 hrs should wrap it up nicely
Re: Soapbox: Modern Zelda Bosses Are Getting Harder, But They're Nothing Compared To The Oldies

Re: Soapbox: Modern Zelda Bosses Are Getting Harder, But They're Nothing Compared To The Oldies
The bosses are great, and really fun, but They are really easy. I can’t even think of a Zelda boss I’ve ever struggled with honestly
