@victordamazio k, but that’s a big Hollywood movie with millions and millions of dollars behind it and resources to go back and change everything. Plus the negative feedback went far beyond a small fanbase. It was like a worldwide meme laughing stock situation. Massive difference between that and a small video game release. Yes you ultimately want to please your audience, but this stuff is set in stone, and people are being unreasonable. To change it now would bankrupt the project. The insular echo chamber should be tuned out. Sorry.

imo This art style doesn’t even begin to approach how horrific that sonic design was. In fact I think looks really nice.

Wii sports worked because the experience was completely new and bizarre at the time. Plus, it was a pack in. It embodied everything the Wii was about, and it was the whole reason many people bought a Wii. That can’t be recaptured. The core experience of the switch is very different, and it’s been achieved already. This was never going to live up to Wii sports

I would honestly say the 3ds. As much as I like some of the bigger games, I just remember feeling so underwhelmed with the gimmick and Mario 3d land. Then most of the catalog ended up being remakes/ports etc. Was worth it for kid Icarus and animal crossing, but beyond that I just wasn't crazy about it.

For software, would have to go with 1-2 switch and red steel.

This is an easy skip for me. How much mileage could you really expect out of this? Playing Wii sports with friends all night worked because we were younger, and it was a whole new bizarre experience propelled by the extreme popularity of the Wii. It will never be the same

@Bizzyb I just think at this point nintendo will maximize these releases. I know botw and twilight princess were dual releases, but those were on severely under performing hardware.

If it’s really coming out next spring, I severely doubt new hardware. Splatoon 3 is launching this year, that’s gonna be a big blockbuster. No way they would cut and run that fast.

@Kirby_Girl exactly. I do actually have some nostalgia, but I don’t think nostalgia should ever disqualify a game like this one since it is such a pillar for the series. I had never played a game with such an unusual structure, it felt like such a bargain. It shares so much dna with smash bros, it almost feels like a dry run for that series. Anyway, kssu has fine QoLs and is a top 5 ds game, but yeah the original is just way too classic

@Kirby_Girl yeah the og is just a better experience imo. The extra content feels a little tacked on, like it could have been a completely different game. You can’t go wrong with the snes sound chip and controller, plus couch coop was just easier.

It’s my favorite 3D Zelda, and second favorite zelda all time. That said, it’s not as polished as ocarina in comparison. Majora can be pretty sloppy and obtuse at times, but that comes with the territory of being such an off the game. Have to just accept whatever collateral damage is there. Majora gang forever

Mercury steam should take a crack at a 2d castlevania. Aside from that, dark souls has eaten every single bit of Castlevanias lunch at this point. Brownie, capri sun, everything. What does Castlevania do that from software games haven’t yet? I just can’t see them both existing in the 3D space. Would have to be a nostalgia play at this point

@iLikeUrAttitude it does look great! Definitely not one of the best looking on switch tho. I would put at least 20 other games ahead of it. It looks like ps3 at best. Again, I don’t really care because the game is so good. My point is Pokémon is the biggest franchise in the history of entertainment, these games could look at least a gen or two better than they do

I know it’s annoying, but I still think this game could look way better. Smt v looks like a late stage ps2 game, and don’t care a single bit. Can Pokémon look as good as that? Or at least as good as let’s go pikachu/evee? What happened after that? Looked too nice for their standards? Anyway it doesn’t really matter I guess

Give it some time. Eventually all entertainment will be owned by a small handful of companies. This stuff is happening really fast, could be in a completely different place in 5 years

@Broosh ok but have you ever animated something by hand the old fashioned way, or know anything about the the studio system? These guys were able to make Cuphead because they could do it independently, and they sacrificed a lot. You will never see that kind of animation for tv, especially streaming.
