Re: Round Up: Everything Announced For Super Mario's 40th Anniversary

Crockin

Sorry but what we have on offering here is so wack. The yoshi game is easily the best thing - it was one of three total switch 2 games announced.

Galaxy ports for $40 each?? Come one. Wonder s2 edition looks fine, but jeez. Not having a Mario game of some kind shown off for 2026 is going to cost them. No Mario tennis doesn’t count. This was a brutal direct

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Donkey Kong Bananza?

Crockin

Im gonna have to do a 10 here. I have some critiques sure, but pretty much zero complaints. this is one of those very special once in a while Nintendo games. If all I can think about is “when can I jump back on the game”, it’s really working for me. I didn’t know if they would ever bring DK back in any significant way (never been crazy on the Returns games), but they pulled it off here. It’s everything and more

Re: Talking Point: Does Switch 2 Have Nintendo's Best Launch Line-Up Ever?

Crockin

The hypest launches of my lifetime
1. N64
2. Switch
3. SNES
4. Wii

The mania that the n64 generated cannot be recreated. Was a totally different media and retail landscape. First saw footage of Mario on the morning news and I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Then I got to actually play it at a kiosk and it was so mind blowing. Hearing his feet clatter and seeing breathe, I was like yea 3D is here baby let me in

Re: Talking Point: Everyone Else Is Busy Revealing Switch 2 - What Gives, Nintendo?

Crockin

I still think it’s entirely possible that we’ve still only seen speculative mockups. Only because every leak looks a little different, and we haven’t seen the full console face on convincingly. Could be wrong, but Nintendo not scrambling to take stuff down is kind of an indicator. They can totally strike down and ruin these third parties….so why aren’t they? Idk, all kinda fishy

Re: Poll: So, Do You Prefer Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Or Tears Of The Kingdom?

Crockin

Gonna have to go with BOTW. Totk is incredible and makes many improvements of course, but the first one was just such a revelatory gaming experience. I didn’t quite reach that level with totk, but mostly cuz everything was so familiar already. The newness of it wore off much faster imo. Having put significant time into both, I can safely say I am very sick of it overall lol

Re: Soapbox: Can You Really 'Spoil' A Mario Game?

Crockin

I really don't like being spoiled. It definitely doesn’t ruin the product itself, but there’s no question it cheapens the experience. Whether it’s story, gameplay, movies, albums, whatever. If given the choice I would like my first experience with the thing to unfold the way the creator intended.
