@Browny I think in light of recent smash controversy and the fact that DYKG is effectively the face of of video game history online, it’s a perfectly reasonable reaction. DYKG probably plays a huge part in people being interested in retro gaming. Nintendo should be FEEDING DYKG, not putting the clamps on it over something so insanely petty

@HeadPirate I would argue that Nintendo was already highly uncomfortable with there being this big of an esports community for smash. The abuse scandals is just easy ammo for them

@nessisonett welp, my daughter loves it so I don’t know what to tell ya. She also Miyazaki movies which have incredible female leads. She also likes Elsa and Princess Leia. I think you are tunnel visioning this. The whole criticism of the tropey badass female character is just insular online culture war junk. Literally never hear any of these same people criticize male characters for being overpowered.

Like the biggest critiques of this trailer are; peach’s proportions, peach’s face, peach’s voice, peach’s personality, the way she dresses. It’s so predictable how guys are gonna react to this stuff, you can set your watch to it

@nessisonett the dress wearing woman running around ‘doing femininity’ is a much bigger trope by a huge margin. Not to mention majority of male tropes are even more stale, overdone and boring.

@RareFan again, this is not accurate. The reasons are well documented and publicized. Assuming these movies bombed because gay characters is conservative tunnel vision. Are the movies even good? Idk, but that is irrelevant to making $$$$$.

As someone with kids, my own take is that lightyear as a concept just seemed confusing, and my daughter has zero interest in anything disney if minions are on the table. As for strange world, didn’t know it existed until like two days ago

@RareFan No, not mostly at all. Those are not make or break markets for a company like Disney. It is 1000% because of competition and streaming. I know the conservative narrative is that having any shred of lgbtq+ normalization in a kids movie is the downfall of society, but I promise u this is a fairy tale

@RareFan lightyear flopped because it was up against minions, and strange world’s advertising was washed by wakanda and the new avatar movie. Pretty well known stuff already.

Night and day. With the Wii U, I just wasn’t impressed with the concept at all. Launch games were soooo boring. Switch gave me an instant “i need this” reaction.

I think the restrictions that make AC what it is, ultimately hold it back from being a better game. I get the formula is sacred for a lot of people, but at its core, it’s still that game from 20 years ago. I liked new horizons a lot, but I can’t do this again. They need to open it up more speed up so many of the processes

@Giancarlothomaz not too late at all. It would be huge. A new Mario concept hasn’t launched w a console since Mario 64. Judging by sales and the fact that mk9 is in tdevelopment, that would be a very likely launch game.

@Cia not photorealistIc, but better art design and more time in the oven. And fwiw the Simpsons at one point we’re animated very well, and lived in a detailed, thought out world. So not a great example
