Re: Pokémon GO Is Joining The 3D Billboard Craze In Japan

BrintaPap

@Not_Soos there are way too many issues with 3d on tv’s: passive or active glasses, low brightness, no glasses etc. Lowers framerate by half the original and often times just not was implemented well.
This was even often the case in cinemas where they added the 3d effect later on instead of filming with 2 camera’s. James Cameron did that with Avatar and was a superb example of good 3d implemitatio.

I love it though.

Re: Steam Deck Nintendo Emulation Videos Are Being Pulled From YouTube

BrintaPap

@FightMikes I have over 40 or 50 physical switch games and 10 or so digital, but why would you assume I would emulate them? Thats just a strawman right there.

I’m planning to use it for gamecube titles that I own physically.

And your “comparison” is really bad, walking with a gun (in public) is forbidden. (most places in the world I reckon) Emulating is just not illegal.

Re: Review: Archvale - A Bruisingly Brilliant RPG And Bullet-Hell Blend

@Meteoroid I like to read reviews on this site to see how they perform on the switch but like you said they sometimes are lenient with the scores. To each their own I guess at the end it is always personal and people seem to forget that.

What is interesting between this and pushsquare however is that many titles that come to both platforms often receive a higher score on Nintendolife , mostly a point, even for negatively reviewed games. I also most of the times agree more with the reviews from pushsquare especially when a game runs poor on the ps4 (pro) and it gets a higher mark on this website while even running worse than the ps4 version.

Re: Metroid Dread Developer MercurySteam Announces Its Next Game, Codenamed "Project Iron"

@Gwynbleidd payday 2 debacle and the walking dead debacle, granted most games they publish are just published, they had no hand in making it or other decisions.

With payday they really messed up. Made the game pay to play, as in a 60 dollar game like every other game. They promised it will never have In App Purchases (IAP from now on). They stopped supporting it in favor of Payday 3 after not even fixing many bugs in payday 2. 505/starbreeze goes almost bankrupt due to the mess called Overkills the walking dead game. Then to save to company they release a ton of IAP for payday 2. Breaking their promise.

Here is a snippet from forbes:

“Prior to the game's launch in 2013, developer Overkill stated that micro-transactions would not be part of the game. At the time, producer Almir Listo admonished doubters, writing: "We've made it clear that Payday 2 will have no microtransactions whatsoever (shame on you if you thought otherwise!)"

This was followed up a month later by (now former) lead designer David Goldfarb reassuring gamers that Payday 2 would not get micro-transactions in the future.

"No," he told GameSpot at the time. "No. God, I hope not. Never. No."

But times change, and during the 10-day special "CrimeFest" event Overkill revealed the new Black Market update. This update introduces "safes" to end-of-match rewards and a new currency "drills" with which to open them. Drills cost money, and once you've used the drill on a safe you get a random weapon skin.

One really bad twist here is that not only do safes replace other free rewards, they sometimes unlock skins for weapons you have to then purchase as DLC.”

Re: Limited Run Reveals Its Physical Version Of Crysis 3 Remastered For Switch

BrintaPap

@Silly_G this is my problem with the switch and physical game cards, I just hate updates, even when you buy a game “late” there is no guarantee that all the patched are installed on it. In some cases from LRG the devs add updates. It makes cartridges kinda useless.

Some games are perfectly playable without updates but many games, even Nintendo ones, have game breaking bugs on day 1.

Re: Atlus Brings 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim To Nintendo Switch On 12th April 2022

BrintaPap

@OldPierre77 yeah in a perfect world that would happen, however there are things wrong with metacritic as a whole. There is no clear idea what the difference is of a 96 score and a for example 95 but i get what you mean. Speaking of which a reviewer that also scores with up to a max of 5 stars is also weird in my opinion just like using a metric up to a 100 with increments of 1. Especially when a the same game with the same content and same performance has a lower score on pc then on console for example. Or vice versa.

Also the site “gauges/guesses” from a few websites that don’t give numbers to their reviews anymore like kotaku what their review would translate to into a number. And that (given that they are huge sites/contributers) can change hard if the games does not have a million reviews.

But anyway I do understand your point about the general consensus of their scores.

Re: The Switch Is Here To Stay, Says Nintendo Boss Shuntaro Furukawa

BrintaPap

@TheWingedAvenger costing more does not stop it from selling out as soon as more stock is there… furthermore the Switch started with a port of Mario kart 8 and breath of the wild.

I also like nintendo as much as the next guy but you should get those rose tinted glasses out of your face. Just because a console has/had not stellar launch line up does not mean it sucks.
Ps4 sold over 100 million and its launch was weak as heck. It did not start with God of War, The last of Us, Horizon, Bloodbourne, Persona 5 (Royal), and in even larger scope monsters like GTA, Red dead and the plethora of Cod’s.

And I have no reason not to believe the same will happen with ps5 just as it had happened with the switch’s animal crossing pushing hard numbers.

Re: Pokémon Unite Has Been Updated, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

BrintaPap

@YourLocalChonker I don’t know if you know it but the items are shared across your party (all your pokemon) so most attack items that you would use on greninja you can and probably also should use for cinderace and zeraora. Same goes for special attack items that you can equip on pikachu, venesaur, nintetales etc.

But yeah those tokens came in clutch for me but it’s very annoying that you can buy these items that allow to upgrade. I am now “stuck” with physical dmg characters. Good thing for me is that I mostly only play with friends if I play this game.

Re: Feature: 8 Games That Missed Nintendo Hardware

BrintaPap

How about a multiplayer fps (with 60fps) like Cod or Battlefield. I honestly would play the heck out of survival and zombies on my switch. Battlefield has never seen the light on Nintendo consoles. Imagine playing bad company 2 on this bad boy.

The social link/dating elements from P5 is what i disliked the most about the game. I did for them “right” for the tropies along the way but I just really liked the combat, art and story.
Kinda boring to have EVERY female fall for you by just listening to them or them (female and male) telling you how good of a friend you are by just saying logical things.

Re: Soapbox: Spin-Offs Can Be A Way In Rather Than A Sell-Out

BrintaPap

@GameOtaku pretty much every game is repetitive. Shooter? Press shoot button when you see the enemy.
Rpg? Spam A/X on their weakness.
Third person action/adventure game? Spam square/y/x and dodge while getting attacked till the group of bad guys surrounding a location are knocked out?
Fighters? Spam a combination of buttons (or in a specific order so you don’t seem like a noob) until the fighter you play against loses its health or is off the platform and gets KO’ed.
Visual novel? Just spam “confirm” on a answer and to spice things up try to spam a/confirm on a different answer to discover other endings.

See? Almost all games are repetitive in some ways but the levels changing, getting more (progressively) difficult, the intruiging story progressing or other stuff like unlocking new weaponry/characters/skills is what we like about them.

A country whose elections are always followed by the entire world needs to get (basic) stuff like drinking water and health care fixed, which should not exactly be a problem since they have the highest GPD in the world… I don’t think I can name the country by name but I think you know which one it is by now.
