@Reprise every company wants to use AI for their products/services and they need a lot of memory.

The memory needed, let’s say memory Type A, is a different type of memory consumers need, let’s say Type B in their product like a Switch (2) or PC or PS5.
However since memory companies like profit they rather use their capacity to make Type A memory only instead of 50% Type A & 50% Type B.

What about contracts that were made in advance with Nintendo, Sony etc? They rather pay the fine for not making Type B anymore and just focus 100% on type A since their profit margins are much higher.

This also leads to higher prices for type B memory because they are not really in the mood to make it since their profit margins and lower and thus raise the prices of Type B memory directly affecting the costs of Switch 2/PS5 units.

This will only stop when AI hype is over but the question is when will it burst?

@raymond23 I want them to fix intermission races online but just play VS instead of grand prix so you dont have those boring races.

I do have a (in my opnion good paying) job.
Also I am able to pay to a lot of hobby related things like motorcycle driving and some Hi-Fi related stuff and my most favourite hobby gaming, also I’ve studied General Economics & Business Economics for my bachelor but I digress. Also we all know that company's are profit driven and not charity’s.

Here you are kinda dodging my question or maybe I did not worded it right, so let me clarify. I do not meant actual content in a game. Clearly devs/publishers can ask money for content or give it away for free should they choose to.
I mean increased/performance when you buy better hardware. No game dev/publisher ever did this on PC. If I buy a new 2000 dollar/eu GPU and put in my pc, the games will run better, NVDIA and/or the publisher will update (that also costs money as people worked on it) the game/drivers for free so the game can utillize the GPU to the fullest.

When I go to the groceries store I can't leave without paying just by saying "the stuff is already in my cart." Im talking about unlocked/locked features and you are talking about groceries that clearly need to be paid for. The commodity here in question is already in possession so your reasoning is flawed.

It would be better for Ninty’s/Sony goodwill in my opinion if they just made those graphical, not content, updates free. We would not even have this discussion to begin with if they would have done so.

Also some games “arbitrarily” having their upgrade included in NSO+expansion and others not is just ugh…

P.S in Mario Party Jamboree the main game is not even visually updated AT AL, not handheld mode nor TV mode, only the new 2 game modes are. And that for 20 dollars/euro.

@ShadLink okay tell me why when I put a new cpu/gpu in my pc the game will be able run better without any external input from the devs? Or should the devs/publishers from the pc should also ask for more money because we upgraded.

Sony (with some games line Last of Us) got flack from paid graphical upgrades yet somehow Nintendo gets way less flack for the same paid upgrade nonsense. The only reason they do it is because they know people are “smart” enough to pay. The upgrade is already there you really just need to pay to unlock a game making full use of the Switches 2 capability.

Is giving a better running to game to your customers really that weird?

Truly I don’t understand why people defend billion dollar company. But I’m curious to your reasoning.

The whole upgrade packs for switch 2 games are just a scam, you got our expensive hardware and want to play our upgraded games on it? Pay us more. And the people are defending it.

This being just as expensive as silksong is crazy. Even if not for that game, the content this offers regarding this game price is weird. I will be waaaaay more selective about buying nintendo games and dlc this gen.

I have to agree with this one, I played smash handheld and the screen just isnt up to par with even the switch 1 lcd.

I mean not allowing cloud saves is still dumb, “genned” pokemon are still happening so the only people affected by this are people who play without genned pokemon.

But he should have used pokemon home regardless.

And of course there are frame-drops in the trailer, years of experience but cant even make a smooth running game regardless of platform.

@Jack_Goetz the gc controller will be able to wake the switch 2 up, the home button is at the back. it also contains a screenshot button now

@JohnnyMind the Crew’s 1 server going offline (had a singleplayer but was always online/online only campain) started ubisofts downfall. As you couldnt be sure how long you were able to play your game.

Already to late to see the price defenders, yeah yeah games were also more expensive in my country around the SNES/N64 time but did you also consider that the sales were way lower then?

Why are you guys defending a billion dollar company @Darkthany ? Nintendo could have created goodwill in these times by upholding their old prices (atleast for the software part) , do you really the complaining right now is good PR for Nintendo?

I think a 3DS situation will happen. The initial wave will sell out fast but I think with these prices adoption will happen less faster than with the Switch 1. People are fed up with higher prices everywhere and a 10/20 dollar increase per (digital) game/accessoire is not helping Big N.

@Zeebor15 maybe some of the devs were playing a lot of lego games at home and tried to make something of a early concept/demo of some sorts, showed it colleagues and here we are.

Lego games are already skins over a (insert IP) with the same gameplay as the previous entry, the lego movies were a succes so maybe there is market for this.

I personally would’t care if this became bigger, but the cards would not became this expensive if they just made more re-released of older cards. They finally did this somewhat but I mean, they had this coming for ‘em.

Uh Persona style pokemon game? With more a focus with story.

Honestly I wanted a full cup of missing rainbow roads. Still I’m happy with the maps and the whole dlc package it self.
Best DLC nintendo made of all of their games and one of the best DLC’s I have bought and in gaming in general, they even added more characters!

Same, pretty much only people from LGBTQ+ care. No one in my family or friends (latin) use it, they also do not want to called that.

The spanish language is gendered but is that really bad, do these people only want the use that term and in long term try to make our language gender neutral.

@Shinnos New super mario bros deluxe toadette is able to pick a super-pink-mushroom with a crown on it. When she picks it up she turns into peachette. See it as the “funky” mode of super mario because picking her up wil make the game easier.

@smoreon the have many wii (u) games and gamecube (not motion ofc) and 3dsthat don’t even require the use of motion or 3d because that one was kinda always optional.

Would love for this to happen to the next console/handheld. Also hoping for joycon rails on the unit itself to be upside down, so you can’t slide them off (upwards).

In other words, the paying customer is the one who suffers, not the ones downloading the cracked version.

@Switch_Pro they should make, imo, a separate list of 2d and 3(.5)D games. If I hear most beautiful switch games I think about 3(.5)D games that push the switch limits, like MH Rise, Zelda.

I mean sure cuphead or rayman legends are one the most pretty games ever but they sure don’t push hardware as much as MH rise or Nier or Dragon Ball fighterZ do.

I’ve been gaming myself for about ~21 years now and have never played Skyrim myself but have heard many times about the many bugs. But at some point I just draw a line and quit with a game and the performance of Scarlet & Violet is to blame.

How am I supposed to play battles if I cant choose my opponents pokemon? How can anyone defend that.

Anyway if that were to be fixed: if you are a competitive player like I’ve been for many years you’d notice that making comp. teams is more time consuming now. The materials are harder to come by, more expensive with in game money (for ev training) and ability patches are very scarce. You can get huge quantities at the auction but it's random. In sword and shield everything regarding comp playing was way easier imo

@somnambulance “not the mess some people claim?” The things they say are true, you can actually look them up yourself and probably experienced it yourself. If you simply don’t get affected by it thats okay and great. But a lot of others players also just don’t like the technical the game is in (in combination with the lack op patches)

While it’s personal I don’t see how people have more fun with this than Sword & Shield and even those were bad imo.

Scarlet & Violet are so darn bugged. I have literally saved/filmed gameplay with my (ranked) battles where I could see not my screen due it being covered with flame effects of the game itself. Normally the effects happens when loading or something.
Let alone the rest of the bugs/framerates problems.

The gym challenges were also very lame.

I can’t see it beating the ds, maybe if a price cut comes. Except for Mario Bros Wonder I don’t see heavy hitters, I think most people got a switch by now. Holiday will move more units but that many before a new one comes out? Nintendo does not release many games on their (by then in 2024) older consoles.

I’d still be down for an OLED switch lite.

@gcunit if its back here ill order 4 controllers. For smash players the controller is hard to come by.

@YoshiF2 people keep saying this but keep forgetting that there always is something new coming out, most people want something new, and to keep producing something with old chips also gets expensive.

Not only that but even though the ps2 sold more then 100 million just like the 3ds/ps4/wii etc. did. They always still announce new consoles, because of a number of reasons.

According to your logic there never should have been a next console after the wii, ps2 etc.Strike while the iron is still hot.

@HotGoomba honestly, im not tired but I do see a bit of not posted content being positive for xbox on purexbox and being postive for sony on pushsquare.

For proof, look up Jim Ryans (early) email about not having COD anymore on PS, you won’t find it but on Purexbox you will.

Of course the writers will probably say something about this not laying in the interest of our readers, while having overlapping users of their 3 platforms.

Then the fans go defend their favourite multi billion company. Hookshot just gets a lot of clicks about this so I can understand them. But they (right or wrongfully) do keep this going.

Ontopic: Would love COD on the switch but still need 60 fps, I understand the visuals taking a hit. But just start slowly with

@HolyGeez03 got the switch pro grip thingy but it just ads bulk. I also don’t really like sillicone grips, tested them out on an other switch but thank you for the suggestion nonetheless.

If it’s a switch 2 I really hope they improve on ergonomics, holding the switch up for a long period cramp up my hands. I also hope for 120 fps support.

@Bobb production prototypes in logistics is easy(easier) to leak/obtain. Not saying this is rumour is true though.

@Clyde_Radcliffe yeah I know, I did not even meant the switch specifically but I mean all platforms in general. I also think that GF needs more people and/or take a longer time, just like Team Sonic, to develop their games (and specifically for the switch).
