Since they did shipped Crysis 2 a few weeks after it went live, will definitely get this third one too. So far only the first game had a non-limited physical release.

i got the limited run version of crysis 2 yesterday and its not on thr typical LRG quality level. there is no booklet and no inprint/reversable cover... this means i won't order the third one there

@UglyCasanova There’s definitely more people then that. Check out limited run on eBay and check the sold section. I’m amazing how ready folks are to waste their money.

They should have just charged an extra $10-$20 and put all three games on a 32GB cartridge (as all three would have fit). With no download or installation requirements, nor the need to swap cartridges between the three games, and being able to play via a TV or on the go, they would have offered a unique value proposition that cannot be replicated anywhere else (despite any price disparity with other platforms).

Instead, diehard fans are paying 3-4x more than they should by having to buy the games separately.

@Bizzyb You probably didn't understand what I just said. I said the first Crysis on Switch is the only non-limited physical release meaning it's the only one on cart that is not getting the Limited Run treatment unlike the second and third game. This is why only the first Crysis game was sold at retailers like Target and Amazon but not the other two.

@jojobar So where would you go to get it then, eBay, Best Buy? Limited Run Games is the only distributer that is offering the physical release of Crysis 3 Remastered that is unless you're getting the eShop version or go the cheaper route and get the original one on the other platforms. The original Crysis 3 is literally only $8 on Steam right now, it's not the remastered version but it'll at least ran better than the Switch one.

I will get it from the eshop when its on a sale i guess... I usually buy a lot at LRG but I also like booklets and games that are packaged as art and not as a quick money grap product.

@UglyCasanova you would be surprised how many people, even before the pandemic casually paid triple the price or more for such games after they sold out.

Yes the market is that sick.

And now it is even worse, even some retail games went up like crazy, I am still hitting my head for not getting some of the games like Ar no Surge for the PS Vita or Monster Hunter Stories and Shin Megami Tensei Redux on the 3ds (and the list is actually longer).

Because even such Ar no Surge because of "collectors" sells for casually €500 online (and not only on eBay mind you), and people buy it and that is how sick this market is now.

And that is not going to change for the more rare games, games like Pokémon will drop in price in the end due to their amount of copies sold, but the games I mentioned don't have that luck.

Meanwhile people like me are forced to go digital if I want to play these games, on PC I would be fine with that but I am less of a fan about that route on consoles.

Worst case scenario for the 3ds would be that I need to emulate them, emulation of 3ds is solid even on smartphones let alone PC, and I still have that bad feeling the 3ds and Wii U will get the same type of "Nintendo treatment", the Wii got digital games wise.

Pretty sure Best Buy usually gets stock of LRG physicals. Saw plenty of them in like three different Best Buys in their Switch section. That could be another option if you don’t want to get from LRG directly or deal with scalpers

@Silly_G this is my problem with the switch and physical game cards, I just hate updates, even when you buy a game “late” there is no guarantee that all the patched are installed on it. In some cases from LRG the devs add updates. It makes cartridges kinda useless.

Some games are perfectly playable without updates but many games, even Nintendo ones, have game breaking bugs on day 1.

All these preorders will be scalped on eBay like everything else. I wish they would just release a legit collection for Switch.

There goes the bank although I won't get to play it I will collect it for now.

@Silly_G This is just LRG showing their true colours, once again.
They may have started out with good intentions in regards to game preservation and goodwill towards customers, but as they've grown bigger and bigger, and are aquiring bigger and bigger licenses for games that the original publishers wouldn't have a second thought about publishing themselves, they've become increasingly arrogant and greedy.
A lot of their releases now require patches, games like these should be packaged in bundles on 32GB carts, and they should stick to actually helping out the smaller devs that they started out with and that actually need that financial backing.
Publishing games from Sony, Crytek, Ubisoft, Konami etc just rings false in my ears, and I've stopped supporting them and their FOMO mentality a long time ago.

Already paid for Crysis 2 Remastered through LRG so this is next!

PlayAsia yes. LRG with their manufactured FOMO, splitting up of collections, high prices, high shipping prices, long wait times, and the increasing prevalence of AAA publishers using them (to name a few), no.

@EVIL-C I prefer individual releases though. I don't like how developers release a collection but only have one game on a cartridge and the rest are downloads. I'm looking squarely at Resident Evil Triple Pack as the main offender. Then again, I spent $250 for the Collector's Edition of Clannad so cost doesn't matter to me if I really want something.

@JustMonika It's a combination of card size constraints and/or cheap publishers not paying up for a larger one. In Capcom's case, I've no clue why something like Mega Man is 50% download. 🤦‍♂️
A complete collection is always better. There's no persuasive argument in paying 3x the cost for the exact same thing, if it can be helped. Japan seems to get more purely physical releases than other regions. That's how I got my No More Heroes 1+2 together, while avoiding LRG. Some of the Final Fantasy releases were the same deal. NA is the worst for many physical releases. Partially due to cheap publishers making ridiculous regional decisions, and partially from LRG's monopoly.
