Since the arrival of the Switch OLED last year, various third-party companies have been busy working on new accessories.
Some are brand new products, while other items have been updated to match the dimensions of Nintendo's new model system. With this in mind, accessory company Satisfye launched a new grip for the Switch OLED late last year, and it seems to be getting quite a lot of praise from the players - with over 1,000 reviews (and the majority of them are popular).
The third generation 'ZenGrip Pro' allows players to hold the new model Switch like they would a regular game controller - with grips on the left and right side. In between the grips are legs - allowing the system to be placed in an upright position on a flat surface.
"The new 3rd Generation ZenGrip Pro works with the new OLED Switch and the original Switch. Includes patent-pending True Free Float technology that keeps your switch scratch-free and improves airflow to keep your console cool and running fast. No mods, tools or extra parts to change configuration for your console. ZenGrip Pro Gen 3 just fits both consoles like magic."
This grip is also compatible with original model Switch and will set you back $29.99 USD or your regional equivalent. Satisfye has teamed up with YouTuber Wood "BeatEmUps" Hawker to promote a special limited edition version of the product:

I might consider this one since the recent Skull N Co NeoGrip was disappointing regarding its grip design and quality.
I love my Satisfye grip and carry case for my launch Switch, so when I stumbled upon and bought a Switch OLED in mid December, I searched for and preordered a Gen. 3 Satisfye grip right away. To help alleviate covid shipment delays, they were air-shipping preorders direct from Hong Kong. To date my order still hasn’t shipped, though they notified customers that Dec orders should ship by mid-January.
I’m feeling a little impatient now, as original delivery estimate was much quicker and because I’m not bothering to transfer over my game data and start using my new OLED until the new grip arrives. It doesn’t bode well that the Satisfye website just says “backordered” now, but hopefully it ships soon! If it’s like the original grip, it will be worth the wait.
Looks neat but I don't normally use the switch in handheld mode.
Just like @teksetter I ordered this in december (6th) but their shipping takes very long. I do look forward to it though as a get cramps playing handheld games for too long especially when using the d-pad or both analog sticks.
I have something similar for regular old switch and my hands smells like cheap plastic whenever I touch it.
I absolutely love my new nyxi joycons. Super comfy and very beefy. Feel very xbox like
@Scrubicius I loved the NeoGrip. My only complain is that it is not dockable, but it feels good in my hands.
I love my series one Satisfye Pro-Grip. Ordered the 2nd version and sent it back; too small. I am afraid I would have the se problem with this one.
@iLikeUrAttitude Thank you for clarification in an article about a grip for people who like to play their portable console in handheld mode.
Agree, he is obnoxious & doesn't really know what he's on about. I would have partnered with someone older with large hands, I feel that is the optimum market.
The original Satisfye Grip was easily the best switch accessory and having to use a cheaper grip was the one problem with switching to the Oled.
As soon as the new Zengrip is available to buy from a UK store, I will get one.
It costs 5x the price of its chinese clone, and exactly the same of an enhanced split pad pro clone (that come with features such as proper d-pad), so my question is: why?
As for the original Satisfye grip I’ll vouch for it like there’s no tomorrow. Feels great and I never played handheld without it. However, I would not order the OLED model at this time. I ordered on Oct 8, was supposed to have it in mid Nov. Between developer delays, COVID, and now shipping delays my expected delivery date is Jan 27. I have little confidence I’ll have it by then. A look at their Twitter account indicates most are still waiting like me. Great product but wait till they are in stock and past all these delays.
I’ve been quite happy with the OLED Skull and Co grip. The swappable grips helped me find a size that fits, and overall it feels pretty sturdy. Plus it’s only $20. I haven’t used Satisfye, but those grips look too small…
I have not used my switch OLED yet but prefer to use my old model because like some others I’m still waiting for the new satisfye grip. I just can’t play without that thing anymore
@setezerocinco I managed to squeeze mine into the dock somehow Though now the dock is a little loose if I did not have the grip on. Doesn’t bother me too much though as the grip itself feels amazing and worth the trade-off for me personally.
Pre-ordered mine October 7th and it's scheduled to arrive January 27th. Woo-hoo (sarcasm) supply again issues and delayed shipping. Seriously, I can't wait for it. Satisfye's grip is the best accessory for the Switch and makes handheld play so much more comfortable.
@jrt87 That's your opinion. As someone who has watched him for years, I can say that some people enjoy his work and personality. He's donated a lot and brought much awareness to mental health issues due to his own battle with depression. I find him to be a very sincere person and I was happy to buy the grip.
And please don't say it's because I'm "younger." I'm not, I'm 30 and so old school I don't even own a cell phone.
I loved the old Satisfy grip, but their current shipping costs are absurd! They are higher than the actual cost of the grip itself.
So I have now bought the Hori Switch Split Pad Pro instead.
Finally. I was so sad when I could no longer use my old one!
Yikes I almost wish I didn't see the comments regarding shipping here. I preordered my grip on Dec 11, but if @BrintaPap (Dec 6), @JasonLee99 (Oct 8!), and @Debo626 (Oct 7!) are still waiting for delivery I feel I'm in for a loooong wait.
A pity because the Satisfy website in December said it would ship that month, and their apology email in late Dec said preorders would be fulfilled by mid January.
I'll have to get my "It's Your Special Day" dinner plate out of the china cabinet for the day it delivers, or maybe declare OLED Day and take the day off of work. ^_^;
Anyway, hoping everyone's grips deliver soon and you enjoy them!
@Teksetter I ordered my Nov 4th and it has finally shipped. But it is going to take 20+ days to arrive. I had to hound customer support. Nightmare. Hope it was worth the wait. Can’t use handheld mode without it. Cramps too bad.
@Scrubicius For real? I absolutely love that thing.
I would love to order it, but try it for Europe. I ended up with Skull & Co.
Like so many others I pre-ordered this back in October and still haven't seen it. I finally got a shipping update but all it says is waiting to arrive to facility, four days ago.
@valcoholic No problem
preordered it back on 10/10, back when they were thinking it would ship by November. Obviously, they either lied to themselves or us. It’s poor on their part, and always better to underpromise and overdeliver.
I hear you on trying to play handheld without the grip! I would last maybe 10-15mins in handheld due to discomfort, so the old Satisfye grip was a great investment.
These shipping times for the new grip though are truly horrendous. Like @Res462 said, if they were overpromising in November and then still in December, that really does make customers impatient!
I'm not familiar with the NeoGrip but I can tell you not long after getting my old Satisfye grip in 2019, I had enough of removing the grip to dock my Switch. I bought a USB-C extender cable which goes between the dock and the Switch's charging port. I actually drilled a small hole through the shelf under my Switch's perch - the extender cable passes through and plugs into the bottom of the Switch as it is cradled upright on the shelf in the Satisfye grip. The setup has worked nicely for me.
@Teksetter I don’t feel impatient about receiving it—I’ve actually been fine playing in handheld on my OLED, despite growing accustomed to it on my original Switch. Everyone is experiencing production and shipping issues, and I understand that. Just communicate it to your customer. Supposedly they’ve started shipping, but the tracking information doesn’t provide any actual data right now.
I just modded my original satisfye grip. Partly because I didn't want to wait for the V3, partly because I hate it's only in white or the horrible Beat Em Ups colour.
I removed the rubber inserts of the Satisfye completely and then used strips of the dock screen protector kit from extremerate to cushion the inside of the satisfye grip.
The OLED slides in easily and smoothly and I can turn the whole thing upside down by the grip with the OLED still held comfortably in place.
Oh, sorry to mischaracterize you as impatient. I guess I shouldn’t project my emotions on others, haha 😅
Maybe it’s more accurate to say I’m eager for the grip to deliver, and concerned and slightly annoyed that the vendor has given innacurate lead times. But yes, we’re living through a pandemic, in the grand scheme it’s such a trifling matter, and as they say, good things come to those who wait and all. 😉
Coincidentally, the Satisfye support team just emailed the following update to customers, and I thought I’d share here:
It seems they’re really dealing with a dreadful logistical mess as best they can. It really is an awful time to launch a new product…
I got the shipping notice a while back so just waiting on mine to arrive. I've truly missed playing with a grip since I got the oled and it's affected how much I play in handheld.
I have a subtle grip style case for my standard Switch and it frankly feels incomplete without. Even a little "flimsy" without my case. I'd always buy casing and/or grips similar to this for a handheld console like the Switch.
I really want to like the grip but it or I have some issues with it.
I usually don’t do video but I am actually thinking about crating a short review video on the grip.
OLED owners: this does NOT fit the OLED Switch. It is designed for the regular Switch.
Trying to cram your OLED down into this thing requires you to set it down on a flat surface and apply a worrisome amount of force to get it in. Once it's in, you might start to experience joy-con connectivity issues as there is too much pressure pressing in on the joy-cons. Many users on the Satisfye website reported this.
I returned mine for a refund. If you have the OLED, don't buy this product.
