I forgot you could get other Gens starters so I went with Totodile. He is my favorite of the three options, but if I could do it again I'd go Chikorita, Charmander and Froakie. I might keep Toto and Froakie together and just have a water heavy team

I have all the previous Metroid amiibos, but I am skipping out on them going forward it seems. I can't justify $100 on these three, the prices are absurd now

@Truegamer79 got this instead of any new updates to existing apps like GCN or N64. Ridiculous

I'm playing through Dragon Age 2 on my XBox (sorry Nintendo!) in the run up to Dragon Age The Veilguard. Saving Echoes of Wisdom and the new Mario Party for the holidays

@JohnnyMind how... How do you rotate through so many game playthroughs?! I usually have one for story, MAYBE two if the second's story is light. If I add any other story/playthrough games I will absolutely forget what I was doing in one of them lol

I have the other two Mario Party games on Switch, and I know one of my friends will pick this up and then I'll get to try it

I just found a version of Mario 64 for the 3ds that fully implemented the systems 3d effects. I fell in love immediately and don't know if I could go back to the OG, let alone a gba version lol

I had just finished back to back playthroughs of Switch Links Awakening and Link Between Worlds myself a couple days before Tuesday's Direct! So I was delighted at that reveal haha.

I just got my hands on Pokemon HeartGold and a few other DS games through.. means.. so I'm playing that for the first time in 14 years.

Why I, a gay man, appreciate representation:

I've played video games my whole life. I was never upset that there weren't characters like me, but it was frustrating when the characters in media that were supposed to be like me were laughing stocks or a character the audience wasn't supposed to admire. As a white male, I had tons of representation in that regard, but not for my being gay, which I had been picked on and told incorrectly through media was wrong.

In 2012, I hear that Mass Effect 3 is coming to the Wii U. I look up some videos on YouTube to see if it's something I'd like and found out that your character could be gay if you wanted them to be. I still remember that day, I got unexpectedly emotional that wow, I could play as a character that more closely resembles me. I ended up finding an XBox 360 on Craigslist so I could pay all three games. I ended up obsessing over that game, and found that I would have enjoyed the trilogy regardless of whether or not I could have my character represent me, but it was an incredible bonus that made the events of the series hit closer to home.

I don't expect to be represented in every single game. But I love that there are examples of people like me and others in my community, something younger me never would have thought would be embraced. If you're not gay or otherwise LGBT, you can just ignore that detail in those characters or not focus on them. Just let us enjoy and move along if it isn't your thing.

Instead of putting so much effort into battling those of us that get enjoyment out of this when you could be off playing some great games or, I don't know, living life minding your business.

For the first time I'm now hoping Metroid Prime 4 does not make an appearance at all in the Direct (at this point it would be better off on the Switch successor). Metroid games are not big sellers anyway, but they get especially screwed when released at the end of a console lifecycle.

Release Prime 2&3 this year, and then 4 next year as part of the launch or shortly thereafter.

I got the bandana a couple years ago when it came out as a reward.. It's cool, but I tried to use it as a bandana for sports and it did not absorb sweat well, so it's better as a fun accessory. I incorporated it into my Skull Kid costume at a carnival I went to and it fit perfectly

If it had a hard mode or if one was patched in I'd consider. I get that it's geared towards kids and I'm not the target audience though.

Super Mario Bros 2 will always be one of my favorites. It's Princess Toadstool's floating ability that allowed toddler me to play a game and actually get far.
It's also why she holds a special place in my heart (despite her name and hair color change!)

Europe. It gives me Alien vibes, which inspired the series to begin with.

I like the Classic series cover image, but it completely rips off Return of Samus's cover, from the pose and varia suit design.

After Wii U and Ultimate, I can't really go back to the older ones. The controls just feel perfect and smooth.

I tried both Melee and Brawl recently, and they just feel clunky to me. 64 didn't age well either (arguably worse) but I still pick it up from time to time, for nostalgia/memories sake.

I don't know how I'd rank all of them, but I also agree Bolero of Fire being at the bottom is nonsense. Song of Time is by far my favorite

9 is too high. As mentioned in the description, every wave had equal amounts of brilliant and uninspired tracks. The vast majority of the Tour tracks and dud picks like Toads Circuit and Daisy Circuit really drag this down, and the quality isn't quite even compared to the original 8D tracks. Yoshi's Island, both Rainbow Roads, the Christmas track, Maple Treeway and Bowsers Castle 3 are my favorites. Overall I give it a 7.

Bowsers Castle 3, with Rainbow Road Wii and DK Mountain close behind. The music is so good in BC3, and I love all the details and updates. Rainbow Road, like all the others in the game, is beautiful.

Daisy Circuit is offensively dull, and the Rome Tour tech brings nothing to the table. The Madrid one is meh but at least that football field provides something unexpected for five seconds

That football field screenshot had me excited there were surprise battle mode courses. Oh well!

The flicker on the side of the NES versions screen bothers me, and I hate the voice clips of the GBA version.

@SvenBTB so because I connected to Home to transfer just two Pokemon to Brilliant Diamond, ALL my Pokemon that are in Home had their moves changed?

Uh, the Japanese version's Boy looks like a pantless Ness. I wonder if that's why the sprite was changed?

I've been so turned off from Home/Transporter.. After a recent playthrough of Brilliant Diamond (where I transferred just two Pokemon over to my game) I transferred all the Pokemon I caught in the playthrough to Home when I realized, to my horror, that all my high level Pokemon, shinies and legendaries from all my previous DS, 3DS and VC games with unique movesets were given the same generic moves. They never moved out of Home so there was no reason for this to happen.. I was heartbroken and months later I'm not sure I'll ever want to go back. I'm sure there's some convoluted GameFreak reason it happened

@DennisNOR back in the GameCube days, if my friend and I were struggling in Mario Kart Double Dash grand prix, we would play F-Zero GX against each other for an hour and then go back to MKDD. For some reason the switch from high speed to slow made it easier for us, maybe it made us more confident I don't know haha

Oooh Red Canyon! I love it's theme song, so I'm looking forward to that one!

I came in 2nd once. I would be thrilled with that feat, except I was somehow in 1st for the entire final lap and someone swooped in at the last millisecond. I was soooo mad hahaha. But otherwise usually somewhere between 15-40

I'm really hoping F-Zero 99 is Nintendo's way of gauging interest in a full blown sequel or F-Zero GX HD remaster. I think GX with maybe the AX content included would still hold up today, and I desperately want to replay it

I've pre-ordered games from GameStop and then never got the pre-order bonus, contacted them and had them say "oh yeah you should have received one, oops, sorry but SOL as it's out of stock" so. No thanks.

I was REALLY hoping for a GX remaster. I'll try this out, but since these "99" games tend to shut down after a year or two, it's hard to get invested

But probably Peach, Blue Toad and Mario.

Unless it's TotK DLC, I do not want to return to this same Hyrule again. I love BotW and Totk but the next game has to go somewhere else.. it could bring along the same characters and general gameplay mechanics but please a different map (and maybe proper dungeons too)

@JohnnyMind Nope, I thought of Bubble Bobble too! I was hoping the enemy would be trapped in the bubble and they'd be defeated by popping them

SNES all the way. I'll go back to NES Mario 1 & 2 once in a great while, but the left screen flicker in Mario 3 distracts me too much.

And a solid no to the GBA versions, the sound and the voice clips drive me insane

This is the first wave where not a single track has excited me, so I'm hoping that Wave 6 ends the DLC with quite the bang

I want so badly to love this game. I'm on my fourth attempt, and I think I'm at the end, but I am losing steam. I think I needed to have played this when I was younger to appreciate it now.. I just get bored with the party only being Mario and Luigi

The Master Sword quest, the final showdown and the finale all had me teary eyed!

@KingDunsparce I laughed when Purah yelled at me for not telling her I completed those two quests a while before. I guess I didn't check in with her as often as I thought I did haha. I really like that the game has dialogue prepared in almost every situation, if you had already done a task that an NPC is trying to assign to you (instead of just marking it complete)

@Wolfleaf a friend of mine said he did the first widely known item duplication glitch for tons of diamonds, but then a bunch of his other resources randomly vanished. I haven't heard of that happening to anyone else, but I'd rather be safe anyway

@CammyUnofficial I'd love Block Fort and the option to turn off the time limit in battle mode... But it'll never happen

My favorite fairy farming location stopped spawning them, I was down to one and several blood moon phases (and many, many game hours) had passed. I thought maybe I progressed to a point where the game eliminated them to make it more difficult. Hopefully this is the fix mentioned in the update!

Just give me GX remastered like Metroid Prime puuuhhleeeeeeez. Or even just a lazy HD port, I don't care

I'm glad some people liked Engage, because I couldn't wait for it to end. Loved Metroid Prime Remastered, and I think it's still higher in my favorite games of all time, but TotK is game of the year for me (so far)

They did sell a couple one-color sets. I have the neon yellow, which are unfortunately threatening me with drift. I have to continuously recalibrate/jam the left joystick from all angles every few play sessions, but at some point I think it'll be permanent

I absolutely adore the N64, and I can easily pick up Mario 64, Goldeneye, OoT, any game I played as a kid. I see some gamers complain about how N64 games are clunky, hard to control, etc... And it's exactly how I feel about Banjo. I know those two games are true masterpieces but the whole experience is just awkward for me. I wish I could go back in time and give younger me these games

Super Mario RPG had me excited when the music hit, but the moment it morphed to the remake and then all the footage... I nearly cried during my work break. Very excited for that, and for Super Mario Bros Wonder (hopefully not too easy). I'll def get those TotK amiibo.

@Lizuka ditto. I have no interest in replaying Engage and have tried repeatedly to sell it off on Craigslist with no takers lol
