@PipeGuy64Bit so is it like Mario 64 where you can skip stars in a world and go straight to the 7th, or do I have to slog through the first six? Because there's already a couple worlds I have no desire to return to.
(I could just swallow my pride and skip the game, despite my "I bought this I'm beating it" mentality)
All the complaining about Mario 3D Allstars has really annoyed me, so I shouldn't turn around and do the same for M:OM here. The graphics were incredible, looked almost HD at some points. Some of the boss battles were amazing, like Ridley (intro abomination aside), Phantoon, and a couple others I've forgotten. I liked the atmosphere and tenseness- they had something interesting going with the Deleter, even if they didn't finish it.
I voted for the Japanese cover. Something about the weird fading around Samus' armor in the US version puts me off.
I haven't made my way to Sunshine yet. I'm currently playing 64 and loving how HD it looks....
BUT I did notice that sometimes when doing a standard jump while running, Mario sounds way more high pitched than he used to. Did anyone else notice this?
Not something I care that much about, just sounds like he's been kicked in the sack as he jumps.
My only complaint is no SMG2. To be honest I didn't care for SMG 1 or 2 the first time around because I hated the forced motion controls, but I'm beyond excited to play SMG1 with standard controls this time.
Other than that, I wasn't expecting much. SM64 not being completely remastered like OOO3D or MM3D were doesn't bother me that much. I played it a couple years ago and it still holds up in my opinion.
Now next year if they do a Zelda 3D collection for that 35th anniversary and it's the 64 versions of Ocarina and Majora's Mask, then I'll riot. Those games did NOT age well, and the 3DS versions but in HD would be my expectation
I really can't handle all these rumors. Just logging in and seeing that image sent me on an emotional roller coaster. Mass Effect, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Perfect Dark, etc. Every day a new rumor.
This is an announcement that, if true, would make me scream and cry like those kids in the E3/Direct reveals at Nintendo NY
I was playing Super Mario Allstars on SNES online last night and noticed that the "Select Game" font was the same one they used for the Year of Release in this new collection. That might be where it came from and why they used it again.
Edit: Checked again, and its not the same font exactly, but its a similar style
12 of 18. The Jolly Roger Bay question one tripped me up. I think Dire Dire Docks is the name of the track that plays in Jolly Roger Bay so as soon as I saw the DDD option, I clicked.
I'm surprised I got so many right from the games I haven't played like Mario Land and Sunshine, but messed up the Super Mario World ones (the game I've played the most besides 64!)
@diamond_crystal you're right. Just double checked the fine print. Thank you!!!!!
@Tourtus as Diamond pointed out to me, you only need to do five missions, not six. I had read articles that stated you needed to do all, but now checking the Mario pin set requirements on the official Nintendo site it definitely says 5 (which includes buying 3d Allstars)
I redownloaded it but I got an error code (apparently because its been too long and I switched phones?). Now I'm in email limbo with the Mario Kart Tour support team and they said it may be a while. I don't even really want to play the game, I just want the pins and I know there's a September deadline for this requirement
My only concern is continuity... it shows Zelda using powers, which (maybe spoiler?) in BOTW for all the flashbacks of that era she can't access her powers until Fort Hateno. Will her fights be at the end of the campaign?
I absolutely love Allstars. I grew up with both versions, and I will always choose Allstars over the originals. The weird flickering on the side of the screen in NES' 3 bothers me, and I just get bored when playing the NES games, 1 in particular.
I also tried the Advance remakes, and hated the voices (Birdo's in particular was unsettling) and the controls did not feel right for me.
This release reminded me of how irritated I was as a child when they changed Princess Toadstool's hair from brown to blonde in Allstars Mario 2 to match Mario World. I was oddly opinionated about these things as a child. Her hair not matching the cartoon really angered me hahaha. And don't get me started on her name change years later...
@HobbitGamer lol. I'd cry of happiness if that happened... I miss the N7 crew. I'm not going to get my hopes up that it'll ever happen, after that ME3/Wii U travesty.
I am very excited that my sister her kids (my nephew's age 6 and 8) are currently playing through Super Metroid and love it. I guess you need to start them young?
For starters, Nintendo maybe shouldn't release the series games so late in a console's life cycle. IIRC, Prime 1 did the best in the whole franchise and that's because it released within the first year or two of the GameCube. The most obnoxious example is Samus Returns coming out for the 3DS months after the Switch. Unless you were already a fan of the series, you were not going to go back and pick up a game for a dying console when the Switch was all the hype.
Then there's also that we are a very vocal minority who love these games. Over the last couple years I tried to get my friends and boyfriend into Prime and Super, and they all had issues picking them up and getting into them :-/

Re: Rumour: Mass Effect Trilogy Remaster Won't Be Coming To Switch After All, Says New Report
Enough with these rumors. Everything is a rumor. I've already been burned with Metroid Prime Trilogy, now this.
Re: Random: Switch Owners Are Discovering Just How Frustrating Super Mario Sunshine Can Be
I watched all the videos this morning, laughing at how ridiculous it looked.
I played it for four hours this evening.
I f$&#-$ing hate this game. I have 12 stars, I read you only need 50 to beat it. I'm aiming for the bare minimum for this one.
Re: Review: WWE 2K Battlegrounds - A Disappointingly Poor Wrestlefest
@nessisonett they just need to give us an HD version of No Mercy and/or WCW vs nWo Revenge. Everything since has been inferior

@NintonicGamer Its not, its a Warriors' gameplay prequel to BOTW 1 to hold us over until BOTW 2 is ready
