@TriniKwan I would love this. In retrospect the games weren't that great, but I'd still play the **** out of two of them: I LOVED the first SNES MMPR game and the Sega Genesis movie game
@MasterGraveheart I just went back to read the review you referenced and was shocked to find that the NES game was on the Wii VC. I had wanted to replay this for decades, after it utterly destroyed me as a kid, and for many of those years it was readily available without my knowledge lol. Well at least it's coming back now
@Magrane "It'd be a treat to see it running on a Nintendo console again. Until then, we've got our well-loved cart." Turtles in Time is about to run again on a Nintendo console in less than 5 days, so this description must have come from a previous list lol
Thank god there's a decent number of folks that voted for the 1st NES game, I was starting to feel old after reading how most editors started at OoT. I played it when I was like 3 and cried every time I died, which was every two seconds hahaha
OoT was when I truly fell in love with the series though.
I'm loving Shredders Revenge but it's making me wish the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie game for the Sega Genesis would go on the Sega NSO. That was my first beat em up experience and I LOVED that as a kid.
3DS Rainbow Road and DS Peach Gardens make me happy! I reeeeeeeeally want Airship Fortress from DS/3DS. I just love the music.
Wishlist:
DS Airship Fortress
GC Wario Coliseum (doubtful since we have Waluigi Stadium instead... but could break one lap into three, the way they did Rainbow Road 64)
SNES Bowser's Castle (Any)
3DS Maka Wuhu
Wii Delfino Square
I know I needed to because I needed the money back in 2015, but I always regret selling my SNES, N64 and GameCube systems and games. But the one thing I'll never forgive myself for selling was the Metroid Prime Trilogy game (that came with the slip cover, steelbook, poster and detailed series summary). I will not make the same mistake with the Dread set.
@RR529 as a kid I LOVED Mario Circuit 2. My favorite thing to do was plant a banana or shell in the exact path the CPU would go just before the ramp, and watch the bottom screen with glee as the CPU character hit the item and botched the ramp. And even more happy when the same character kept failing every time after for some odd reason even without the sabotage
What do I want? Goldeneye. That's kinda 3rd party right? But won't happen.
What did I vote for? Cowabunga collection date. I feel like this is likely and I want Turtles in Time. Between this and Shredders Revenge I just want this to be a Turtles summer
I refuse to even be excited by anything announced, because with my luck I'd be overwhelmed with happiness at an announcement only to see "...Cloud Version"
@OorWullie Wow! Is it because you're saving it for the very end, it's intimidating, or just enjoying the overworked too much? Hyrule Castle in BOTW is probably my favorite location in any Zelda game. I've spent countless hours running around between my two playthroughs, just playing around, looking for secrets and absorbing the atmosphere.
I didn't know this. I loved this minigame as a kid and would replay it constantly. I'm fairly good at video games, but my timing in the mine cart game has NEVER improved even 25 years later haha
@IronMan30 I got three months of Gamepass for $1 and going to play it there. I fully intend on getting the digital or physical version on Switch if I enjoy it (physical if it blows my mind, digital if I just really like it)
Just went through that Twitter thread, and WTH is up with all the Toad hate? He's been around since the (near) beginning and is unique looking compared to the rest of the main cast (I know this is ironic to say because all Toads look alike, but I mean comparatively to Mario, Bowser, Peach, Yoshi etc)
To me Daisy is a brunette Peach and Rosalina is space Peach. And people freaking out, but you never know if she's unlockable or something. People panic so quickly nowadays
Ah, my memory of this game. I still remember July of 2000, getting home from a week away at summer camp and having a sleepover with my neighborhood friends. I begged my mom to let me rent Perfect Dark (I was 13 and my friends 11) and she strangely conceded. But one of my friends also rented a game to bring... Crystal Shards. We fought over which game we would play, and despite being the host I lost. Longest couple hours of my life waiting for them to get "bored" of it (I don't think they were actually done) and then I forced them to play 6 hours straight of PD. A decade ago I tried to play this game again in the Kirby Wii collection but then got so nostalgic that I went to PD again. ... Alright this monologue no one asked for has gone on too long
I never played NSMB2 because it never appealed to me, and I could not get into Sunshine, as hard as I tried. The controls were weird and it felt unpolished.
Their least favorite Zeldas are in my top 4, but I get we all have different tastes. I personally dislike Zelda II, Minish Cap, and the Oracle games. And I have no desire to touch the DS games
Has playing the N64 games multiplayer online improved at all? I tried Mario Kart 64 online with just one other person months ago, and despite each of us having full bars, it was a bit janky
The quality is all over the place with Wave 1. Paris Promenade and Ninja Hideaway are incredible additions, but Toad Circuit is the most bland, uninspired comeback. I couldn't help but think how Toad Harbor and Toads Turnpike were far superior Toad representations. There's literally NOTHING interesting about it. I hope the next waves have more impressive offerings
@sketchturner it said the exact same thing on the Mario ornament box I ordered and was giving to my nephew as an add on to his Christmas present. I still gave it to him (after advising my sister and having her say it's not actually an issue) but it was definitely, uh, not a pleasant thing to see on a cheery Nintendo product lol
Oh Crash Team Racing. I wanted to love this so much, the gameplay is great. But I'm a completionist, and the grindy unlocking system really kills it for me
Glad to have another N64 game added to the line up so soon. I never really enjoyed X all that much, but absolutely loved GX. Shocked that a lot of folks prefer X over GX. I'm hoping for the sake of those who love this game that the online multiplayer is better than Mario Kart 64's.
@FixMadden22 I listened to their episode last week and they said they had a say on what games they featured on NM, so if they didn't like a game they didn't have to have it on and fake it. I'm pretty sure they mentioned a Nintendo game they disliked, but I'm forgetting it
If it wasn't for Dread, maybe I would be antsy. But I got my Metroid fill for now, and will patiently wait.
I feel like people are being way too dramatic about this... You look at a picture and automatically assume the worst. What you see as a setback, could actually be they are replacing people that moved on. Maybe they are expanding because the project got bigger in scope. Maybe they just need extra pairs of hands to help touch up some things. Maybe it's for a new game. Who knows. Relax.
Time to grab the 3DS Fire Emblem games I was holding out on- Echoes and Fates. I have everything else I really wanted, and can't think of anything I need for Wii U that I couldn't find a disc for (or Switch port of)
@RasandeRose same. Loved Goldeneye and Perfect Darks gameplay, but the following gen when it was Halo and then Call of Duty... Something was lost for me and I still can't quite put my finger on it. Even now I'm more comfortable with the controls for GE/PD that folks complain about
@oconnoclast was just about to post this. People are acting like Nintendo hired them to do these short videos, when they were already in marketing and then proposed the NM idea to their bosses. One of them revealed in an IGN interview that they got to work with some of the big names at Nintendo and hang with them regularly, so I'm sure they have great references set up. They will be totally fine.
EA did not go all in on the Wii U when it first released. They went half arsed (or rather a third arsed) by only releasing the 3rd Mass Effect at full price when the games are intended to be played back to back. I know it's the Wii U we are talking about but still ME would have sold a lot better had it been the full trilogy
I remember Christmas '96. I wanted Super Mario 64 and the N64, but had to "settle" for Super Mario RPG instead, because those sprites had a 3d look to them and my parents felt like it was too early for a new system. Thank god, because I ended up adoring that game and was obsessed, and I don't know if I would have touched it otherwise.
I ended up getting the N64 and Mario Kart 64 with birthday/Christmas money the following April, and man was I attached to that thing for 5 solid years.
@Ladasta I would slaughter my friend in Mario Kart but he would have a chance in this game, he won just as much as I did. It made it fast now enjoyable for him. That said, I'd love an option to turn the rubber banding off
This is sad. I actually would watch them once in a while, and grew quite fond of both Kit and Krysta. Some segments were funny, some were predictable, but I always enjoyed seeing their banter.
@Friendly Thank you! NOW I see it, haha. The way its placed, it's definitely meant to be an Easter egg and not obvious. It didn't help the screen shot was showing the entire room and not just the prop
I loved these games as a teen and I was going to get it day 1, but not with all the issues. I am still willing to jump eventually but after more patches and a sale.
To be honest all I'll probably do is run around playing with the cheats anyway. I just want to fly a tank using the turret turned backwards as a propellant rocket in 3 and VC... And then shoot missiles at unsuspecting cars when I inevitably crash land. I guess I don't need them to be perfect for that kind of gameplay haha
If they fix all the major issues, I'll consider picking this up.. but all my excitement I had from back when it was announced is gone. I miss the days when companies actually cared about quality before release
Everyone is like "errr it's so easy just always have a net already in your hands" but I'm often just trying to chop for wood and it's a hassle to switch tools for every tree when I'm going through the whole forest. This new trick is perfect for me.
I sighed, braced myself and decided to read through the comments. I was pleasantly surprised that the fair majority are actually positive for once, and it took 40 or so before a couple folks tried to drag it down.
@Desrever her comments have been blown out of proportion over the years. You are correct that she called for more diversity, and a certain demographic unfortunately took that as an all out assault. She seems to be good people.
Anyway, I think Brie would do Samus justice... But she may have to fight Ronda Rousey for it, as she's also campaigned to play Samus (she has the look but I don't know about the acting)
64 is in my top 3 Mario Karts, along with 8D and Super. I loved the physics of the karts, how they moved, the trajectory they'd take when hit by different shells, how you could hop on other characters, the insane shortcuts that were possible... Or how you could hit someone in Royal Raceway or Wario Stadium before those ramps so they lose progress. And then of course, that battle mode.
I played this for a little while online, and the audio was junk but the gameplay was ok for the most part. But that was just with one other player. Hoping they fix that
@Kilamanjaro Yeah, Smash Ultimate and MK8D seem to be the non 64 games where this controller would shine. All the other games there's a sacrifice that would make games unenjoyable.
I was using the SNES controller for MK8D and had a lot of fun with it.. except I couldn't get back to the Switch menu.
Jennifer Hale 100% voiced Samus, at least in Prime 1. 1) I briefly watched her autograph signings for Mass Effect Legendary Edition, and she would once in a while switch from signing a FemShep poster to a Samus poster. 2) she's tweeted about Samus plenty of times (she only tweets about characters she voiced) including "When do we start?" when the trilogy remaster was hinted 3) if you search "Jennifer Hale Samus" on YouTube you can find unused audio of her reading an intro monologue for Prime 1
