Big Avicii fan, and very saddened by his mental health issues and ultimate suicide. I’ll definitely get this when released - great music and a worthwhile charity
Control looks great. 1 v 1 Sounds less great. And neon and sunsets do nothing for me. But I’ll keep an eye on it, and see how it turns out (and then probably buy after a few G&Ts)
The term Metroidvania is getting tiresome. Almost as bad as Rogue-like and Rogue-lite. It doesn’t help that I’ve never played Metroid, Castlevania, nor Rogue...
Apple Arcades is looking rather tempting. For a reasonably low monthly subscription to play games that look somewhat intriguing but not worthy of a full purchase - hmm, I’m almost tempted to jump on in. Although I game 99% of the time in portable mode, and don’t own any joysticks other than joycons...
Have you not given enough column inches to this garbage already? And now conducting what feels like market research? This is Nintendo in name only, and I’m fairly confident not what most NL fans are interested in.
I played it once, and it was as good as expected ... terrible.
They can charge what they like, and much though I disagree with the whole loot-box practice, if it gives Nintendo more money to spend on actual game development and console R&D, then go for it!
I played this lots in the arcades back in the day, but I find all these Arcade Archives just too expensive for a little reminiscing. Someone port International Karate (and IK+) from C64 and then we'll talk...
With Mario Odyssey, NL talk about how ’post-credits it takes on a life of its own’. Aren’t you just revisiting all the same levels looking for more moons? Or am I missing something? To me, post-credits felt like I was repaying the game all over again, and so I stopped after a couple of worlds.
If I paid a hundred Aussie bucks for a game that merely had player name changes, then that’s a zero out of ten. Fortunately I don’t trust EA, and so wait for reviews and the eventual price-drop. Otherwise I’d be super-annoyed
So was it better when he played in on Switch before release? And hence the surprise? Or is he merely making excuses for a game that shouldn’t have been released in such a shoddy state?
The onus really is on Nintendo to announce how they’ve fixed the drift issue with the Lite - considering they have admitted it is an issue on the original Switch (which took them far too long to acknowledge in my opinion). It’s not up to the customer to ‘wait and see’. If Nintendo don’t release a statement, then I have to assume that nothing has changed, and that rules me out of a second Switch for my daughter (along with the crappy family-share model, but that’s a different story).
This (called Hyper Olympics in NZ) and Hyper Sports were two of my favourite arcade games growing up. And I’d buy both for a couple of bucks, anything more seems overpriced
Something I can play in one or two sittings and then archive is a big ‘joy’. And as I now live in beautiful Australia, I’d better support the Aussie devs
Why do Nintendo sometimes hate us so much? Nothing worse than legislating for the minority that would abuse an easy-sharing policy, so the majority of us have to suffer. It’s anti-consumer, and means I’ll not purchase a second Switch for my daughter
Announcing paid DLC before the game is released feels strange - like if it’s already planned and underway, then it should be part of the game. An announcement post-launch I’ve got no problem with at all
It just keeps getting worse - terrible family-sharing model, shorter battery life than the new Switch, and worst of all is Nintendo haven’t announced that they’ve reworked the joy-cons to eliminate drift (which they finally admitted was a problem).
I’m sure there are many people who will love their unSwitch Lite - and that’s great, but it seems like Nintendo missed an opportunity to appeal to more people - it should’ve been dock-able (no dock included), improved battery life, a more durable form factor for kids or travel (clamshell could have bigger screen with far less width, keeping it more portable, and you could play in tabletop mode), and the ability to play my games on a second Switch without hassle.
I love the art style, and Untitled looks quirky as hell, but I’m not sure there’s enough meat on the bones, so to speak. I’ll wait for a review, and if it’s more than a mere diversion, then I’ll grab a copy.
It’s a shame the Switch’s latest teased gadgets won’t work with a Lite out of the box. The new Ring, and the AR glasses, which have both been reported in the last week. It’s also a shame it doesn’t switch. Nor is the screen protected. As a second unit it’s ok, but anyone buying just a Lite may be disappointed
I used to roll my sleeve over my hand so I could scrape back-and-forth over the buttons for maximum speed. Utterly loved this in the arcade (especially all the Easter eggs).
Would love this and part II, but as a stand-alone, it just feels overpriced
MSR was one of my favourite games - I was living in London at the time, so driving around familiar streets was awesome. Strangely, I’d always assumed I’d played it on my PS2, so was surprised it was a Dreamcast exclusive - memory is a funny thing
So you have to buy the game AND still get hounded by micro transactions? No thanks. Add in loading times of a couple of minutes, and I’ve already moved on to another game
So the moral here is: don’t admit your mistakes, don’t apologise, don’t try to be a better person. Um ok, seems like a misguided punishment.
And for the record, I’ve not been great with everyone in my past, and have certainly been sub-par as a person in relationships, but I matured and learnt from my failings
Why developers/publishers release a shoddy, unfinished game is beyond me. Imagine of all companies did that ...
Here’s your new car, and the brakes get added in a few months time.
Hey, here’s my latest novel, the first three chapters are great, the middle hasn’t been edited, and the ending will come at some unspecified later date.
Big Mac with fries ... the meat patties ain’t in there yet, and sorry but we’re still trying to get salt on those fries.
I’ve not played a SNES game in over 25 years, so was looking forward to retro-bliss. Even grabbed an annual subscription in anticipation! And so far ... underwhelmed. The games I’d played before didn’t age well, and those I’m playing for the first time are pretty poor too. I haven’t yet played Zelda, Metroid or Yoshi’s Island, so hopefully they’ll be more fun
@AskAnEnemy This is not my game genre at all, but since you’ve engaged the community, and are obviously passionate about your game, I’ll grab a copy. I’ve gotta support people living their dream!
