I loved my Amiga 500. My favourites were Xenon, Garrison, and Sensible Soccer (which I played with a mate for far too many hours - we used to hunt around 2nd hand shops for the old Atari 2600 joysticks, as they were the best controllers to use, but would only last a few months). Damn good times!

Strangely, I never thought of looking for demos on the Switch... There are a bunch of games on this list I should really try - Ori, Hob, Puyo Puyo Tetris, Cadence. Looks like I’ll be busy for the next few hours (providing my joy-con drift ain’t too bad)

Thanks to joy-con issues, I hardly use my Switch anymore. It means I haven’t bought a game in many months, and instead get everything (cheaper) on my PS4

I feel like we’ve had this ‘EA bringing games to Switch’ type article several times already in the last week. I’ve hit maximum EA. Time to hose off and move on...

@retro_player_77 Agreed. And that's my problem with it. They took Burnout, which was my favourite arcade racer, and morphed it into a street racer, which I dislike. Basically, I want a new arcade-style Burnout racer, where I can race with mates in real life. And then they can charge full price for it...

Burnout was one of my favourite series. But Paradise missed the mark in a few key areas:

• No split-screen multiplayer
• No option just to race; you have to drive around looking for races
• And with an open world, you can take wrong turns, get lost, struggle at speed to follow the map etc...

All those just ruined the fun factor for me. But if that’s your thing and you don’t mind forking out great wads of cash, then jump right in!

The review of this game pretty much sums up my feelings about Animal Crossing...

For me, this was the worst of the Burnout series. I prefer racing with friends on a couch, on a defined track, not trying to negotiate a map whilst driving at high speed. But if you like solo/online racing in an open world, then there’s probably none better.

My advice: try before you buy or wait for a sale

About time Facebook blocked these groups! The number of times I’ve gone online to buy a bag of marijuana, only to find at the end of the transaction the seller is wanting hundreds of bells?!? It’s enough to drive me to drink...

AC would be more relaxing if the same, tedious dialogue stopped. Taking a fossil to the museum is a lesson in frustration.

Outside of that, it’s a joy, especially as it’s my four-year-old daughter’s first game - and we are genuinely having a blast!

But I bought it again recently for my PS4, as it was $10, and I wanted to see if I’d misjudged harshly ... but nope, it still sucks. And at close to fifty bucks, it certainly ain’t worth it

I guess not everyone can distinguish between real life and a video game. Nor do they seem to realise that some of us don’t rely on video games to teach our children - we actually parent them. Other than those basic flaws in the author’s piece, I’m sure it was a riveting read

@Cissero If you like free-roam racing, then there’s probably none better than this. But it ain’t my bag - it requires too much time (which is in short supply in my day-to-day life) for me to learn the map, and hence enjoy. But I hope you love it!

It’s the worst Burnout by a mile (or kilometre, if you prefer). It does look pretty, but it lost the fun of the previous entries. A racing game just doesn’t work as a free-roaming game, in my opinion. Save your cash, buy a PS2 and Burnout 2, and you’ll have a blast!

Too much junk onscreen hiding the cars! The permanent Nitro gauge floating over your car was so distracting in the video, I didn’t even watch what was happening.

I bought the first Overcooked, but found it too fiddly standing in the exact spot to chop/wash etc... It was still reasonably fun, but the sequel looks so similar to the original that it seems a waste of money - if the price drops I’ll reconsider

My four year old daughter has just started playing this, with me reading all the text - it’s her first ever video game, and it is sensational!

Thanks for this article. I’m a solo Dad with a four-year-old daughter, and would love to game with her. Animal Crossing doesn’t sound like my kind of game, but to share with my little one is a different proposition, and I think she’d have a blast. So thank you!

The worst Burnout game by a mile. It looks incredible, but free-driving in a racing game doesn’t work (unless you learn the entire map, perhaps?). I had it on Xbox 360 years ago, and was disappointed, but bought again for PS4 in case I’d misjudged it - and it still disappoints. Which is such a shame as I adore the other Burnout games.

Dreams is awesome. A great way to get to grip with the tools is to mimic something you know and love - hence the Mario ripoffs. Nintendo flexing their legal muscle is within their rights, so now Dreamers will move onto something else, or hopefully evolve their creations into something bigger, better and unique. Keep dreamin’ y’all

The quotes highlighted in the article sound quite reasonable to me - the way multiplayer has been handled will completely ruin it for some people. I hear some sites gave it a 10/10 even with the gimped multiplayer?!?

So if my daughter and I both want to create islands and play (not at the same time), we need two copies of the game and two consoles?!? Wow! And it still get's a perfect 10?

Count me out though. I don't care about Nintendo's justification for why it's gimped like this, it just doesn't make for an enjoyable proposition for me and my family. For others it will be different, and I hope you love the game.

Nintendo would have a hard time pursuing this legally - it’s not a commercial product, it is fair use, transformative, and probably qualifies as parody

I loved Boulder Dash back in the early 80s on my C64, but this looks unnecessarily complicated and strangely unappealing

And according to the CDC, "while alcohol-based sanitiser quickly reduces the number of microbes on your hands in some situations, the liquid doesn’t eliminate all germs." And so also recommends soap and water as the main defence, but a high-alcohol sanitiser in absence of soap and water.

High-alcohol sanitisers do kill some viruses, but the sanitiser needs to be used correctly and in the right volume. It is a secondary precaution, and so I use it - but each to their own. It's not like I make the stuff
