The quarantines haven't worked (just see the infection rates in Iran, Italy, and South Korea), and so we can assume that this pandemic will get worse. Unless a vaccine is found soon, then we will all be affected irrespective of where we live (and a vaccine isn't expected for at least twelve months). My guess is E3 will be cancelled, along with big gatherings of people around the globe.

My advice: wash your hands with soap and water often (and make sure you do it correctly), if water isn't around then use a high-alcohol hand sanitiser (like Purell). Avoid touching your mouth, nose or eyes. If you work in a public space (shop, bar etc...), then spray a high alcohol sanitising surface spray regularly on counter-tops and door-handles. If you're feeling sick, then self-isolate

The first step in finding a cure for any disease is to ban video games. It means scientists can now concentrate on their work in the lab instead of wasting precious time with a joystick in hand...

And to those praying for the people affected, if you really think prayers help, then please pray for no more disease - it seems the sensible thing to do. As an atheist, I'll continue to donate money to assist how I can.

Dreams is the most incredible software I’ve seen. I’ve done a few tutorials, and it’s tough, but the possibilities are limitless. It makes you appreciate all the work that goes into creating these Mario games - sure some of the physics are a bit off, and the assets look a little clunky, but they’re still incredibly well done by passionate gamers. Great stuff!

‘Tis good. One change I’d appreciate for images, is having them fixed instead of randomly placed - as then the text in a review can refer to specific images, and it saves me having to refresh to potentially see some different screenshots. Cheers!

Mario Kart Tour was disappointing enough that I played it for only five minutes and then deleted.

@Joeynator3000 Rabbids is one of the few games I’ve finished, and never had a single crash or glitch (that I noticed). The battles are awesome; I just wished I could skip all the wandering between levels

I foolishly thought the arrival of all those SNES games was a sign that the Online Service was changing for the better ... I was wrong

You can only review what you’ve played - potential patches are not part of the package.

And an indie developer is in complete control of when they release their game and in what shape - you only get to release your game once, so make sure you’re happy with it when you do.

If true, then it’s legislating to the lowest common denominator. Those cheating at games are a tiny minority, but they punish the vast majority because of the actions of a few.

If cheating affects the game for others, then I’d have a modicum of understanding, but for a game in which cheating only affects yourself, there’s no rational reason for this.

Thanks EA, but no need to micro-transaction your way onto the Switch. And full price for annual updates of what is essentially the same game isn’t really my bag either.

First Party titles do sell the best on Nintendo hardware, but most distributors/publishers still find the Switch versions of their games as the top seller across platforms - so from a business POV, why the hell wouldn’t you be on Switch? But like I said EA, I personally don’t really care for your business, but I’m sure it’ll be welcome by many Nintendo gamers. Good luck in your endeavours ...

I appreciate BotW, and completely understand the love this game gets, but I didn’t particularly like it. A combination of fiddly controls and breaking weapons ruined it for me - but I like watching people who know what they’re doing play it!

It’s apples and oranges trying to compare PlayStation to Nintendo at vastly different times in their console’s lives.

Either way, it’s a great time to be a gamer! The Switch got me back into gaming, and I just bought a cheap PS4 and have been blown away by the number of incredible games. Lucky us!

How well is the smoke rendered?

Games to movies rarely work well. And I don’t think Star Fox is highly recognised outside of Nintendo fans. But I bet it’d be far better than the Sonic movie!

I’ve only played about six engaging minutes of Pikmin before, so would love 1-3 on the Switch! Or bring it to the NSO if that’s still a thing (I last used it months ago...)

Up to 8 players sounds pretty awesome, and real life tracks good too. And as always, I appreciate the developer engaging the community - I tend to purchase any game when this happens to help support them on their career

I haven’t played mine much, but am meaning too. I bodysurf and surf as often as I can which keeps me healthy, but for weight loss it’s all about what you stick in your mouth - and over these Christmas holidays, it’s been far too much food and a lot of booze...

I bought a cheap PS4 on Cyber Monday, and honestly, I’ve been blown away. It’s incredible! The Switch got me back into gaming after a ten year hiatus, and the PlayStation compliments it perfectly. I love them both!

Can we ask for some Nintendo Life New Years resolutions?

1. Being able to quote other commentators in our comments (not just @ them) so we can follow the thread of a conversation

2. I’d like to be able to see my own down votes to know if the NL community disagrees with something I say

3. Heavily down voted comments should be greyed out or hidden, which minimises troll-like behaviour
