A four seems a bit harsh. I've not played the game, but just watched some gameplay video, and it seems to have the retro-inspired feel that the dev was going for (maybe they needed to make it 16 bit pixel-like - just joking).
I always appreciate when the devs come on to the comments - so thanks @Stingbot_Games - and I get the labour-of-love, and I'm pleased to see the pride you take in your work. I'll check it out purely because you've taken the time to comment, and because you clearly love making games!
Not being able to spot loot or enemies is a real bummer, as I'd been looking forward to this (need some more Mario + Rabbids game-play in my life). I know the subtitle text can be increased in size for portable mode, but the rest of the text looks tiny. I might hold off on this until I pick up a PS - I'm by no means a graphics junkie, but the washed-out, blurred look is making my eyes bleed
@gamekill Yeah, good points. Although I'd chuck a clam-shell Switch in a bag, along with my keys and whatnot. Whereas for the current Switch iterations I have to have a separate bag (I currently use a neoprene wine-bottle holder which works perfectly!)
A rumour remains a rumour until it is confirmed...
I was firmly in the camp of the Switch Mini not existing as rumoured. And even with it confirmed, I still struggle to see why Nintendo released a Lite in the form that they have - I've have switched it up, and gone with a clam-shell to protect the thing in kiddy-hands.
I'm intrigued to see what happens with the animated Switch logo, and the iconic finger-click - as it's now only relevant to half their Switch SKUs
I was going to get it, but then the focus on the RPG/story side put me off - I prefer more strategy, and really don’t have much time to game. The ‘small font’ comments sealed the deal, as my ageing eyes can’t handle tiny text.
Life’s too short to get worked up over scummy business practices. I may not like what Bethesda are doing, but that is outweighed by a Doom nostalgia kick. So I’ll create a throwaway account, and enjoy me some mindless blasting.
Far too much talk about everything in the game that isn’t racing. All I want is a racer; so keep your skill-trees, and your dynamic weather ... just let me race!
Love it when the devs jump into the comments, @2Awesome - it shows you care, and makes me a lot more interested in your game.
I’m not a fan of procedurally generated levels/tracks either - I prefer something handcrafted and fixed, so I can have favourite levels, and can challenge my bro to the same course in different countries.
The review seems to be labelling everything that Automachef isn't, instead of what it is ... which is a complex, management/process simulation. I'm intrigued by the game - I think a demo is probably necessary.
As for clicking the right joy-con, I'm with the reviewer on this one. In fact, any control that requires a push of either joy-con stick is rubbish - it's far too easy to do accidentally (hence my repeated crawling in Zelda when I'm trying to run away from a monster!)
Love this game, and will definitely grab the DLC. Appreciate when the devs pop in for a comment too, so thanks @JesusFabre
My one dream for the game is an in-car view, as that's how I like to race. But yeah, anyone on the fence should grab it - it's perfect for a few races on the go, which always seem to trick me into having 'just one more turn'...
Really pleased this has got a demo, as I've wanted to check it out, but not sure if it was really for me. The fact that it's a reasonably short game is just a bonus ... the curse of having too many games to get through!
@PBandSmelly I think board games are going through a renaissance. The variety and quality are better than ever before. In terms of gaming, both digital and cardboard, it’s a great time to be alive!
Nintendo don't just need to acknowledge this is a problem, they need to fix it, and they need to compensate anyone who is out of pocket for their poor quality/design fault. And they need to be punished to ensure it doesn't happen in the future.
I say this as a massive Nintendo fan, and as someone who hasn't had any drift issues. But corporations need to be held responsible for their mis-actions.
Maybe someone else could upload a level called Pile of Poo and see if it gets deleted - then we’d know. I’d do it, but don’t have the game or the stellar Nintendo online service ...
Big yawn to the 60 fps junkies. We get it, you want 60 fps, no need to bang on about it. Every. Single. Time. At least I get to use the Ignore button some more...
When the trailer is a blatant rip-off of American Beauty, then I worry for the game’s creativity and originality. Horror ain’t my genre anyways, and adding in a few penises doesn’t change that.
But gaming options are always welcome, even more so if the eShop was updated and we could remove the detritus ...
I've only ever played one highly-rated walking simulator, and was bored senseless - can't even remember the title. So Edith Finch has less game than a regular game, and I'm guessing a less involved story than an actual novel. Sounds dull. I'll watch a bit of a play-through though, to see if there's something I'm genuinely missing.
And I know not everyone has to have the same tastes - so if you love it, then bully for you.
I deal with two Japanese manufacturing companies that have production based elsewhere in Asia - Thailand and Vietnam - so it's a pretty common practice. Companies have steadily been moving away from China, not just because of Trump and his tariffs, but for a myriad of reasons (increasing costs, quality issues, human rights, hedging bets etc...)
@RiasGremory But you can't have a contingency plan for something out of your control. There are seven banks who own almost a third of Nintendo shares between them. If they all decide to sell (along with plenty of minority shareholders), there’s nothing Nintendo can do.
I doubt it’ll happen, but saying you have a contingency plan is garbage.
Wow, seventeen floors, just like in the artwork. Size-wise, I’m guessing they’re like the artwork too - that little annex near the top looks interesting...
I have to get back into this - tried picking it up after a few months absence, and couldn't remember how to play! I'll give it another go when the update drops...
A Switch Mini as pictured still makes no sense. But I guess there's more clicks to be earned.
If you were to make a non-detachable-joy-con version (i.e. a non-switch Switch), the screen can't go smaller, so you'd go clam-shell to minimise its footprint, and have the bonus of protecting the screen for little kiddies and the clumsy amongst us.
And I have to remember to stop clicking on these non-stories...
I love a tennis game ... but this just doesn’t look like tennis at all. A little less of the super-shot / racquet-breaking type mechanics, proper games and sets, and I’d be interested
A bugger about the online requirement, as most of my gaming is on flights (I’m in the air almost every week). But I’ll still grab this - MK doesn’t really do it for me, but I adored Diddy Kong, so hopefully this scratches that particular itch. (Currently loving Horizon Chase Turbo too)
I liked it. It’s pretty basic, but a nice little diversion. I got it when it came out, which was well before the backlog kicked in. But still worth a couple of bucks
Completely agree with him. The Switch is awesome for Indies and is the only place to play Nintendo IP. But if you’re into AAA then you go Sony or Microsoft, and maybe your second console is a Switch.
I personally don’t care what Sony do. But I love my Switch.

Re: Arena Battles Await In Attack Of The Toy Tanks, Firing Onto Switch This Week
It is a bit like Atari’s Combat, only it looks to play worse - twin sticks misses the simplicity that made Combat so good.
I’d have also thought that tanks driving and shooting amongst Lego would deform and break the bricks, which would make a cool evolving playing-field.
All that being said, I’ll probably still pick this up, purely for the Combat-feel.
