Update: It has been revealed that AVICII Invector will launch on Nintendo Switch on 10th December. We've shared the brand new release date trailer for you above.
Original Article (Tue 15th Oct, 2019 14:15 BST): AVICII Invector, a rhythm game celebrating the life of the late EDM star, will be launching on Nintendo Switch this winter.
The game has been described as "a fast-paced rhythm experience which fuses Avicii’s trademark brand of uplifting EDM music coupled with serene visualscapes". It'll be appearing on Switch, Xbox One and PC for the first time, with a re-launch planned for PS4 (where it had orirginally released under the name Avicii Vector).
Avicii, aka Tim Bergling, saw the original game's release on PS4 before his tragic passing in 2018; this new release has been created by Wired Productions and Hello There Games in collaboration with Bergling's family. It has been revealed that portions of the game royalties will go directly to The Tim Bergling Foundation, which advocates for the recognition of suicide as a global health emergency and promotes removing the stigma attached to the discussion of mental health issues.
Game Features
- Experience Avicii’s Music: 25 hit songs from the EDM superstar
- Be the DJ: Custom, on-the-note, level-designed tracks to play
- New Look and Experience: New visual look and additional content
- Additional Platforms: First time on Xbox One, Switch, and PC, plus new content on PS4
- Play it Your Way: Three difficulties on every level.
- Explore New Worlds: Six different in-game worlds including a brand-new world
- Play with Friends: Solo play or with friends in split screen action.
- Immersive Story: Emerges through cutscenes with voice acting
More details are set to be shared ahead of release, but we do know that the game will be released both digitally and physically across all platforms.

My wallet cheers every time they announce games I'm never going to buy <3
Interesting, never heard of this game. But if its going towards a good cause then that's even better for those who can afford it during this time of year.
Never really was a fan of the man’s music but I love a good rhythm game and would happily buy this if the proceeds were going to a good cause.
Great artist and I liked his music, so even while the game is *meh (I already have it on the PS4) I will get it because the money goes to a good cause.
*It is not bad, but back then when I saw the PS4 trailer I thought it would be like Audiosurf on PC but then with Avicii music only sadly the game was not what I expected, however it may be meh for me it could be great for another.
I miss him so much. Definitely buying this.
I like the look of it, I'll certainly keep an eye out for it. Reminds me of Rez a bit.
Has it sold out already? You are able to pre-order on other platforms but the switch is listed as sold out, what gives?
@graysoncharles I made absolutely no mention to mental health in my comment, either positive or negative.
Big Avicii fan, and very saddened by his mental health issues and ultimate suicide. I’ll definitely get this when released - great music and a worthwhile charity
Day one buy for me. Huge fan of Avicii and huge fan of rhythm games in general. Given the donation side of it, I may double-dip on XB1 and Switch both.
Avicii's music was really good and I was saddened to hear he had taken his own life 1 or 2 years ago. I'll buy this not only as an admirer of his work, but the fact that it's going towards a good cause, while also looking like a solid Thumper-like rhythm game using his music, is really enticing.
@RazumikhinPG you shouldn't be obligated but shouldn't male comments like that with a heart. Just don't comment at all
@RazumikhinPG Even if you didn't mention mental health in your comment, what you typed was incredibly distasteful. Not hard to understand.
Not interested in the game? Don't buy it. Simple as that.
@SteelSunglass oh be quiet. That comment was done during the period that A TON of games were coming out for the Switch. I spent tons on games during September/October and still didn't buy all the games I wanted (still missing Daemon X Machina and Ni no Kuni). My comment was just reflecting that I'm glad there are games I'm not interested in, like this one or sports games.
Had no idea this post was going to be more about mental health than the actual flippin game.
@RazumikhinPG Hopefully you learned to actually read the articles, or understand the context of them before commenting, then. Whatever your intent was, it matters less than the effect.
I think you are all piling on RazumikhinPG and making this much worse than it actually is. It was just an off the cuff comment, no need to make it into some kind of scandal. I will also not be buying the game, but I did like his music. R.I.P
@graysoncharles again, can we drop this please? Especially in the context of this article, I think this kind of behaviour is in very poor taste. Nobody's perfect, move on.
Hope the F word isn't censored in the actual game.
